“Come on boys we have to go to practice. I know it’s 8pm but you know how it is,” said one of their managers at the dorm

EXO had gathered together with Aileen, Hani and Sora to get ready to go to SM building to practice again for the upcoming much anticipated comeback. It had almost been a year since they debut and people were starting to become impatient because all the other rookies had more than 1 comeback while EXO was still singing MAMA. The boys were ready to show the world what they were made of.

They all piled in two different vans. One van consists of Kai, Suho, Chen, Kris, who had recently come back from his sabbatical, Xiumin, a manager and Hani and the other van was Aileen, Sehun, Baekhyun, Chanyeol, Lay, Luhan, Tao, Sora and DO. They were pressed for time so they were speeding just a little bit. It didn’t help that they were being followed closely by the fans that seemed to intensify slowly as their popularity rose.

Aileen looked out the window with a worried look on her face, “Must they drive so close,” Sehun grabbed her hand and smiled

“They just love us,”

“I know but enough is enough. I still can’t believe SM let Kris travel alone. He had me worried so much when those fans surrounded him at the airport like that,” she bit her lip

“He was ok,” he nudged her

“But still. I worry about you guys so much. I…”

Aileen wasn’t able to finish her sentence because it all happened so fast. The manager slammed on the brakes as the van was hit on the side by a car carrying a group of girls. It was the side Aileen and Sehun were on and the van spun out of control, hit the guard rail and flipped on its side.

Silence and blackness…..

4 hours later

Sehun was banged up pretty bad. He had cuts and bruises all over his body and he was unconscious lying in the hospital bed with all his friends and family surrounding him. The others were only with minor injuries but Aileen got cut up pretty bad herself. She was in the room next to him.

“He’s going to be fine,” Sehun’s father was saying to his wife as she cried in his arms

“He’s got to be ok,” Luhan said to Suho who was comforting him

“Aileen hasn’t woken up yet, has she?” a teary eyed Baekhyun asked everyone

They all sadly shook their heads. She had a broken leg and some internal bleeding. She was expected to recover though. They all said their prayers that night.

THE NEXT MORNING

Aileen woke up confused and disorientated. She looked around the room and realized she was in the hospital. Why was she there? What happened? Luckily her TV was on and the reporters were reporting the terrible car accident about EXO that left members and others in the hospital. Her heart dropped when the reporter talked about Sehun’s conditions. Why him? Her sweet lovable dongsaeng who she cared about with all her heart? She started crying just as Kai, Kris and Lay walked in the room.

“Noona you’re awake,” Kai ran to hug her, “They said you were touch and go. I said a special prayer for you though and look, you’re ok,” he smiled at her

“How is Sehun?”

“He’s still the same,” said Kris as he held her hand

“I was just telling him before the accident that I was worried about something like this happening and it did,” she burst into tears

“Shh he’s going to be ok,” Lay reassured her

“You’re right,” she smiled weakly at them

2 weeks later Aileen was released from the hospital but she had to take it easy. Of course their comeback was pushed back because Sehun had not woken up yet but fans, friends and family were not giving up. Every day he was visited by one of those people and today was Aileen’s turn. She had not seen him since the accident since she had to recover herself but she made a quick recovery even those she was on crutches.

When she arrived to his room and opened his door she was surprised at what she found. He was awake and looking right at her.

“Sehun omg it’s a miracle. You don’t know how many people were praying for you to wake up. I was one of them,” she hugged him but he didn’t respond to her at all, “What’s wrong?” she looked into his eyes

“Who are you?”

“It’s me, Aileen,” she was shocked

“I don’t know who you are,”

Aileen had to get used to Sehun not remembering who she was but it was very difficult. The doctor said it would take some time for his memory to come back but he had also made a speedy recovery but not well enough to perform but SM went on ahead with their comeback without Sehun which was weird but he totally understood. Sehun slowly regained his memory of his family and friends and then Exo and the other Noonas but he still did not remember Aileen. She tried to stay strong but it hurt to see him remember everyone else but forget the one person that meant the world to him.

“Just give him time. It will come back to him. At least he’s very nice to you,” said Sora

“It’s not the same thing. I miss him so much. Yes he acknowledges me but its out of manners because I’m his Cordi Noona. He treats me like he treats you guys, not like the girl he loved. And I hear now he has a crush on Sulli,” she started crying

“But she told me she keep telling him that he likes you. She would never pursue him. Anyways she likes Chanyeol,” Sora smiled at Aileen

“But he doesn’t remember that. It’s been 3 months already. I don’t think he will ever remember me,”

“Well maybe you should help him remember you. Take him out for the day and take him to all the places you guys used spend time together. Maybe that will jog his memory,”

“You’re right,” she smiled feeling determined more than ever to get her Sehunnie back

That following Saturday Aileen planned the whole day out for them. He was willing to go because he did enjoy Aileen’s company so much and he needed the exercise. He was slowly regaining his strength to dance but a day of fun was super nice. He had a feeling though that his relationship with Aileen was more than Noona/ dongsaeng but he couldn’t remember.

“So what do you have plan Noona,” he linked their arms together which she smiled at

“Going to the Han river, riding bikes through the park then cooling off with some bubble tea and then ending the day with a wonderful view from the roof at the fireworks tonight,” she smiled at him as he beamed at all the stuff she planned

Their day was super fun. Sehun was really enjoying himself and every now and then he would see blurry flashes of his past but nothing more. Aileen thought it was really working until that night when they were on the roof together. She was remembering the first time Sehun confessed to her on this very same roof. He even recuited some Exo members to be their waiters for their lovely romantic candle lit dinner.

“Noona I had a blast today. You knew all my favorite things to do. How did you know?”

“Because I know you like the back of my hand,”

“It seems like you know me better than the rest of the guys. I get that vibe from you,”

“That’s because you’re super special to me,”

“Thanks Noona. You have given me great ideas for when I ask Sulli out,” her heart totally sunk

“What?”

“I really like her and I know she will love these ideas. Thanks Noona for the best day ever,”

Aileen finally made her decision as she tried to avoid his eyes for the rest of the night.

The following morning she made her way to Lee So Man’s office to tell him in 4 months time she was going to the Fashion Institute of Technology. She got early acceptance and she finally decided she was going to go. Sehun had a large part in her decision. She didn’t want to stick around while he tried to date Sulli when she still loved him. It hurt was too much and she wanted to start her life as a fashion designer. So Man was very understanding and told her that he would write and awesome recommendation letter. She wasn’t going to tell the boys until she was finally going to go and it was 4 months away; Sehun could have recovered his memory by then.

Only he hadn’t. Aileen was crushed. She and the boys tried everything but she had to face defeat and it .

“When are you going to tell the guys?” asked Sora

“Today because I leave tomorrow,” she looked sad but she finally accepted things were not going to change

“Well we are going to miss you,”

“Me too,”

The boys were in the studio practicing when Aileen interrupted them. This was going to be hard but it was for the best. She tried not to cry but as soon as she saw Sehun, the tears started coming.

“Hey guys. I have an announcement to make,”

“Noona why are you crying?” asked Tao

“I’m leaving you guys,”

“What!” they boys all started talking at once

“I got accepted into the Fashion Institute of Technology in NYC and I’m going. My plane leaves tomorrow. I didn’t want to tell you guys soon after I got accepted because I wanted our last memories to be happy ones. I want to thank all of you for being so good to me and I’ll never forget it; especially you Sehun. I think you meant the most to me,” she was crying and Sehun furrowed his brows when a memory flashed before his eyes

She laughed and started crying at the same time. This boy was truly something. No one had made her heart skip a beat like Sehun.

“Noona,” she turned around to find Sehun in a tux holding a bouquet of sun flowers

“I knew it was you,” Sehun was surprised

“How,”

“When you started leaving all my favorite things with the notes, I figured it out. Thank you,” she hugged him

“I like you Noona,”

“I know,” she kissed him on the cheek

“Do you like me Noona?”

“I do, no one has ever done this for me. I am completely touched,”

“Well since we are both dressed for this occasion I think it’s only fair that we thoroughly enjoy ourselves,” he clicked his fingers together and a string of lights suddenly came on revealing a candle light dinner with Exo waiters smiling at them

“You are truly too much Sehun-ah. The fact that you know all my favorite things just makes me all giddy inside,”

“I do try,”

“But I bet you don’t know what my new favorite thing is,”

“What?” he was wondering

“You,” and with that they sealed their love with a kiss

END OF FLASHBACK

Aileen was walking out the room in tears when Sehun finally remembered her. He grabbed his head and fell to his knees as all their memories came back so fast.

“Whoa Sehun are you ok?” Luhan asked

“I remember. Omg I remember,” he was crying

“What do you remember,” Kai was getting excited

“I remember my Aileen,” he ran after her. She was in the hallway when he screamed her name, “AILEEN!”

She turned around to find herself engulfed in Sehun’s large arms. He was crying so much and she was still crying. They were holding each other for what seemed like forever.

“I’m so sorry. 6 months. It took me 6 months to remember you. I wasted so much time. Omg I was trying to get with Sulli,”

“I’ll admit that was hard to watch,” she smiled

“Please stay,”

“I can’t. I have to go. I gotta do this for me,”

“But I just got you back,” he hugged her

“Well don’t think of it as me leaving for good. Think of it as I’ll see you later. I pretty much have a job here when I graduate in 2 years,”

“That’s it. 2 years,”

“Yea and there’s Skype and when you’re on vacation you can take a plane and come see me,”

“And when you’re on vacation you can take a plane and come see me,” he kissed her forehead, “I love you. Thanks for not giving,”

“I love you too and don’t thank me for that. I did give up but somehow you finally remembered me just in the nick of time and I’m so happy,”

Sehun grabbed her petite face in his hands, stared her deeply in the eyes and kissed her with all the passion he could muster. It felt so alive and he felt all the love they had for each other. He never wanted to forget this ever again.
