“Who is that?” Chanyeol questioned. I continued to stare and analyze the figure. I wanted to believe it was my brother, but I couldn’t understand why he could have returned.

“My brother…” I replied, barely above a whisper. I could see that Chanyeol eyed me with concern but he didn’t say anything. “Thanks for walking me home.” I thanked. He nodded.

“Umm… look not that I care or anything but if you need me…call me.” He assured me. I looked at him curiously.

“But I don’t have your number…” I replied. He grinned, mischievously. He pulled out his phone pressed on the screen a couple times and the next thing I know my phone voiced out a notification. I checked and saw he sent me a message that read ‘Now you do.’

“Don’t ask how… I’m smarter than I look,” He joked. I smiled thinly at him and nodded.

“Yeah, you’re a jerk and everything but if I need you, I’ll call you.” I assured him. He waved and I swallowed some saliva that seemed harder to swallow than usual. I walked up to where my brother was standing.

“Shinwoo?” I questioned lightly. The figure turned and my brother smiled brightly at me.

“Jaeri! Where have you been? I was going to go in but I left my spare back home.” He told me. I ran up to him and hugged him tightly. I couldn’t control the tears that trickled out of my eyes.

“Shinwoo…oppa… I’m happy you’re here.” I spoke on to his chest. I could feel my brother chuckle.

“Yah, JJ don’t cry… let’s go get some ice cream.” He told me. I nodded and let him go. I wiped a few tears and we hopped in to his car. I noticed he had some luggage in the back seat.

“How did you get your car?” I questioned. He smiled lightly.

“You know… the company. I had someone bring me my car.” He told me. I nodded understanding.

“Why are you here?” I asked. I could see the smile on my brother’s face drop slightly.

“Um… we’ll get to that, let’s just catch up first.” He insisted. I admit. I felt suspicious. The reason my brother was back was unclear to me and I was worried about him being here unannounced. 

“Okay…” I replied.

“So how is school? You enjoying your last year?” He asked. I nodded.

“Yeah, it’s okay,” I answered. He nodded.

“Do you have a boyfriend yet?” He teased. My eyes widened and I hit his arm.

“Yah! Since when were you so forward!” I scolded this earned a laugh from my brother.

“So I’m guessing that’s a yes?” he further interrogated. I hit him a second time.

“No! I doubt there is even anyone interested in me like that.” I defended. My brother still laughed.

“What about that tall guy that walked you home? You seemed pretty chummy with him.” He commented. I choked on my saliva.

“B-bwo! Yah you saw me before I got home!” I exclaimed. My brother let out another hearty laugh.

“Well is he or isn’t he?” He questioned. I shook my head.

“Nah… he’s a jerk.” I told him. My brother merely shrugged it off. Soon after that we arrived at the parlor. Shinwoo spoiled me. He bought me a triple scoop of my favorite ice cream and still offered to buy me more. I was getting especially anxious. My brother was always nice, but he was being overwhelmingly nice.

“So… are you going to tell me why you are here?” I questioned as we found a table to sit down in. He sighed heavily as he took his spoon to dig it in his ice cream.

“Jae, I’m moving back.” He informed me. I smiled brightly.

“Well that’s good!” I exclaimed. He shook his head.

“There is a catch. I won’t be back until next year and mom and dad want me to take you to the states with me until then.” He explained. I dropped my spoon down in its bowl. I was in shock.

“W-what….w-why? This is my last year of school.” I spoke. He looked down at his dessert frowning.

“They said that you living by yourself isn’t healthy.” He stated. I couldn’t help but let my temper get the best of me.

“Oh and what living alone with you guys working all day is any better! Let’s face it Shinwoo I’ll be alone no matter where we go so why move me?” I sassed back. He sighed and looked at me with an apologetic expression.

“Jae…,” He spoke softly. I sighed.

“I-I can’t Shinwoo… I just can’t…” I muttered, feeling a knot in throat. I pushed my ice cream aside. I lost my appetite.

I won’t leave… I can’t leave.
