The right choice

One million colors

Ren's POV

"Ugh." I awake from a sudden pain running through my head. My eyes open slightly and the world seems to be turned upside down. Or

rather, I am. I moan as I sit up, holding my hurting head. I fell asleep on the streets again. People stare at me from afar, without

interrupting, maybe they know by now that I won't interact with them anyway. Luckily, the colors only glow lightly today, it's enjoyable. So

I open my eyes completely for once. Daytime - about noon. Amount of people around - low. That's good. I almost lean back again,

when my stomach starts to growl rather loud. I look around, slightly embarrassed, but nobody seems to have heard. Phew. When

exactly was the last time I ate? The only thing I remember is waiting for that person to appear, but apart that my mind is empty. I see.

Time to get something to eat.

As always, everywhere I go people react to me in the same way. They all will stop for a second, wondering whether I'm male or female,

amazed by my appearance. I don't know what's so special about it. I never felt the urge to do something about it, I don't even own a

mirror. In my opinion, it's rather unhandy. I get people's attention too easily, which often leads them to approach me. Just like right now,

as I enter a ramyun shop.

"Uh, hey pretty - you alone here?" A boy appears in front of me, he is surrounded by multiple colors that change from one second to

another. Red to pink to violet. Seems like he is very nervous, trying to look cool. He is slightly tippy-toeing while looking up at me. I

simply walk past him, not long after that his friends start laughing. They must think I've turned him down. Things like that happen

occasionally, but I don't let them reach me. Why should I respond to them when I know exactly what their intentions are? And most of

the times they show them pretty clearly, even without seeing their colors I'd know.

I choose the table at the far back where no people gather, a waitress approaches me soon after.

"Good day, what can I bring you?" Instead of answering I point at something in the menu, it really doesn't matter to me what I eat.

"Oh, you're a guy, right?" She asks, and her eyes widen in amazement. Her aura gives it away - she is more than curious.

"Yes." I say coldly, but she still won't back away.

"You know, I noticed right away. Your face is really pretty. Like a girls." She giggles and awaits my reaction, but she gets none, so she

clears .

"Uhm, well excuse me then." Another typical reaction. People can't seem to handle me.

I lean back and stare out of the window, where the sky took on a blue color. Sky blue. My favorite out of them all. Like this, I enter the

state I spend most of the day in. Looking at nothing particular, thinking about nothing particular, just emptiness that makes the time

flow. I notice the figure standing beside me very late. It's the waitress from before, and she observes me nervously. My eyes examine

her until she finally puts the ramyun on the table and I can eat peacefully. Upon finishing I put my chopsticks beside the bowl and

attempt to stand up, when a waiter (yes, a different one this time.) tries to hand me the bill.

"Here you go sir." He says, handing  me the paper.

"Thank you." I say, and his body seems to tense. "But I already paid." His expression goes blank for a second, before he smiles again

and says:

"Of course. Have a nice day!"

I leave without anyone suspecting anything.

JR's POV

"Hyung - we should hurry."

I nod, but Minhyun could not possibly see it in the darkness, so I add:

"I know. Quit nagging." We are standing in the entrance of a strange house. And yes, it is not  the home of any of us, We are

unwelcome intruders.

"Minhyun, you come with me. Aron and Beakho, you go upstairs. "

"Understood." I let my glance wander through the dark room, my eyes adapt slowly to the dark. Well, turning on the lights would be too

dangerous. We have to do it without light. I get nervous, and my mouth is dry all of a sudden. What am doing?

"Just take anything that seems valuable. Don't even try taking big things with you." Again, a sound of agreement.

"Go!"  I sneak into the room, as quiet as possible, and I know Minhyun is following me. Meanwhile Baekho and Aron take the stairs to

search upstairs. The living room is really big. it feels weird to be here, and wrong. I know too well that it's wrong, but I have no choice.

Plus, it feels like I'm only using my three comrades. Not like they won't get their share - but I didn't even tell them why I need the money.

Maybe they feel like asking is not allowed since I'm the leader, maybe they trust me too much. Knowing that hurts and I hope they won't

get into trouble because of me.

"What about this?" Minhyun suddenly asks right beside me and shows me a golden bracelet.

"Take it with you.We can sell it later." I continue to scan the area myself. Sofa, TV, a table- there's also a glass cabinet. It doesn't seem

to be locked so I open it, there are tons of expensive looking dishes, but they break too easily. So I close it. Beside the glass cabinet,

on a cupboard, there are some frames with pictures in it. So it's an old couple living here. Sorry, I think, but we'll need to take some of

your stuff. Still, seeing the pictures makes me feel nostalgic.

I find some more jewelry in a box inside of the cupboard and let it slide into my pocket. Regrettably there doesn't seem to be any cash

around. Maybe upstairs, I hope as I look around further. A door leads from the living room directly into the kitchen, but what would I get

there? So I approach Minhyun.

"Found anything else?" I whisper, but he shrugs.

"Not really." I don't know what I expected, but I wished we'd find more than jewelry. However, people these days aren't stupid. The stairs

creak as Aron and Baekho join us.

"Guess what we got here-" Baekho raises his right hand, a bundle of money is in it. "They hid some cash in their bedside table." I

almost sighed out of relief.

"That's good. We need to leave quickly. I'll contact you to discuss the share." After stepping out onto the streets, we split immediately,

each running in different directions. That was on one hand part of our plan and on the other hand we lived in different areas anyway.

Running at full speed cleared my head. It didn't make my bad conscience disappear though. All the way down I kept reminding myself

on why I had to do this. I'm not at fault. You'd do the same thing, right?
