Ren's POV

 

I have a really weird dream.

 

There's a wide field before me, a girl jumping and playing around with a big dog. With her, there's a boy. I can't seem to make out their

faces, neither the boys nor the girls. However, the way they behave tells me that they must be very close. And they must love the dog.

This peaceful scenery makes me relax. I could watch it all day... But wait, something is wrong. This is not reality. I'm not supposed to be

here, so why...? Suddenly, they both freeze in the middle of their movements, now turning towards me, letting me see their faces. A

scared expression is engraved in them, as the dog starts to bark, causing my head to explode.

 

"..." My eyes flash open. Bright light hits them, but my vision is still blurry. And, ah, my head aches badly. It's almost like that time when I

woke up at JR's. Only that it's worse. I want to sit up, but it's impossible to move. Only now I realize that my lips are sealed and my

hands & legs are tied together with a rope. By now, I should probably freak out. But I don't. I don't have the energy to. Soon, I can

make out my surroundings clearer, but they are still strangely colorless. The door swings open, and a familiar face of a rough man

shows, he's phoning with somebody, but his voice is too quiet, I can't hear them... And I can only vaguely sense his aura. Which

means, I can't read it at all. It's too pale. This fact unsettles me for real, I had hoped to be able to depend on my abilities at least. Now

this possibility got taken as well. The man hangs up and finally looks at me. A hint of surprise rushes over his face.

 

"Oh. How come you're already awake? This should've knocked you out way longer." He shrugs. "Well they told me I should be extra

careful with you. You know you're special, right?" His grin is pure evil as he sits down on the edge of the bed. I stare at him with the

angriest glare possible, it doesn't intimidate him at all.

 

"You must be pretty confused, not being able to use your - ah whatever." He suddenly pulls out an injection filled with a weird

substance, and laughs meanly.

 

"This time, it's a way higher concentration. To make sure you sleep well." I want to bite him, scratch him or hit him, anything would do,

but he's unreachable. I can't even manipulate him. Instead, I'm helplessly lying here, as he grabs my arm firmly and injects the liquid

directly into my veins. I am bound to watch. As he pulls out the needle, not one single drop of blood leaks from the small wound, for it

has already fully closed. He examines it, fascinated, and I wish he'd back away now. I don't want to be treated like that anymore. I

already went through this once. Then, the random picture of JR's sister flashes through my mind. Maybe I did not fail yet. She must be

alive. The last thing I notice is the man, leaving me, his phone again on his ear. I then drift away into dream world once again.

 

 

 

JR's POV

 

Two days are over. And not a trace of Ren can be found. I went over to visit Minhyun various times, had a talk with Aron, who (like

Baekho) apologized to me. My answer stayed the same. I was terribly nervous all the time.

 

Aish, now I seriously start to worry about Ren, has he gotten into trouble? What if he actually bothered with X and they - No, they

wouldn't. He isn't stupid. Apart my worries for him, there are the worries regarding my sister. If I don't ... make Baekho vanish today,

she'll get hurt. What to do, what to do... ? Ren, please give me some kind of sign... say that your plan worked out. You promised. I

shake my head because I know it's pointless. I'm just about to phone Baekho, to find out if he had something to do with X, when my

phone rings by itself. Unknown number.

 

"Yoboseo?" I say, and the voice answering sends shivers down my spine.

 

"Kim Jonghyun. This is X. We have an offer for you, as well as some information that might be very interesting to you." I swallow hard.

on the other end of the line, there was a person involved with X, the guys that turned my live into a living hell years ago. They never

phoned me, ever, since that day. What could this be about?

 

"I assume that you are listening. It's about your blonde little friend." Ren! I almost cried out of desperation, but I managed to hold back.

I wouldn't let them hear this.

 

"We have captured him. He made it easy for us. But before I continue with the offer, tell me how much you know about that boy." Why

would they want to know?

 

"I believe that's none of your business." I say, thinking back at all the moments we shared- but truly, I didn't know much. His origin is still

a mystery to me. The deep voice continues even though I'm not prepared yet.

 

"We believe that you don't know a thing about that boys identity." Those words hit my heart mercilessly. "So what if we tell you that your

precious friend is not originally human?" Not... human? I can't follow his explanation, neither can I figure out the meaning behind this.

But I'm curious and my pulse fastens while something slowly constricts my throat.

 

"What do you mean?" I ask, suspiciously.

 

"We mean that your friend is an abnormal, unnatural existence. Don't deny it, Kim Jonghyun, you noticed some strange things yourself.

But you did not have the courage to face them, just like you couldn't confront him. You were fooled by his appearance." I heard

something like that not too long ago. Why do all those people hold a grudge against Ren and treat him like - I don't know what! And

even though I keep defending him, something inside of me wants to believe that strange voice. Because it has a point. Ren always had

been a bit weird, knew things he wasn't supposed to know about. And dammit, he made me fall for him! A boy! Though I really,

honestly want to guard Ren... I...

 

"And here's our offer."X interrupts my thoughts and makes me concentrate again.

 

"We have your sister. And we have your weird friend. Now, make a choice. We will hand over your sister and won't ever bother with you

again, as well as we'll take back the order to kill Kang Dongho. That is, if you decide to abandon your friend. However, if you were to

choose the boy, be prepared for killing Kang Dongho - and losing your sister." With those words being said, the call ends. I'm too

shocked to move, so only after a few minutes I get a hold of my body again, lowering the hand with the phone in it. Ren or my sister.

No, Ren or Baekho and my sister. I clench my fists and hurry home. I know further information about the offer will already be there. In

form of a blood red letter, of course.

 

 

 

Ren's POV

 

They moved me to a different building, along with JR's sister. I am now confined to a chair, not being able to move an inch. They would

keep observing me, giving me injections of different kind, so now I am awake, but nevertheless can't do a thing. The taunting voice of

that man keeps haunting me.

 

"Your friend now knows about your identity, boy. He will have to make a harsh choice. Do you really think he'd choose you after having

been told the truth?"

 

I wish he'd choose me. I wish that, for once, someone would choose me. I am prepared to get hurt by anyone, it wouldn't bother me.

But I'm not prepared to get hurt by JR. If even he abandons me, won't I change back to my old self? To the me that I don't even

consider human? Don't leave me, JR, not you, too.
