Destined

One million colors

JR's POV

"Stop him! Stop that rascal!"

I ignore the screams as I fight my way through the crowd, a tasty looking orange in my left hand.

"That's a crime!"

The surprised glances following me make me smirk. They need too much time to figure out what happened, and until they realize I'm

already miles away. I know the busy streets of Seoul like no other. Just a bit further and - I slip into a small alley. I'm safe now. I let

myself sink against a wall and laugh out loud. It's a laugh filled with desperation, and it must've looked like I'm crazy. As I gaze at the

orange in my hand, I think back into my past, just to find - nothing. Nothing but a black hole and emptiness. How many times has it

been that I tried to remember? That I tried to remember exactly why I am doing this? I feel like I'm doing it all the time. The orange in my

palm makes a squishy sound. I put too much pressure on it in my anger. I just throw it away, it's squashed anyway.

My breathing is still heavy from the run. I am getting exhausted to quickly lately. I need to calm down.

The bursting out jackpot – no matter what anyone says – so what

This is the difference between me and you...

My phone starts to play that annoying melody. But I know I should pick up.

"Yeoboseo?"

"Jonghyun-ah, is that you?" I sigh. Who else could it be if you're calling my phone, stupid?

"Of course it's me. What is it?"

"Those guys are causing trouble again. They rampaged in our area." I need to think for a while. Those guys? Pictures are flashing

trough my mind as I recall what Minhyun means.

"Aah... Is that so?" I say and try to sound unimpressed. Actually it bothers me a bit. I don't want to get into another useless fight. But

what else can I do? I have to be strong as their leader. Can't lose their loyalty.

"The thing is, hyung... We need you here. Right now." Judging from his tone, it seems urgent.

"Arasso. I'll be there in a bit." I end the call and get up. From here to there - I'll give myself 10 minutes, I think before starting to run

again.

***

Finding them turns out harder than expected. When I finally arrive, Minhyun stumbles towards me. He is beat up pretty badly.

"They outnumber us." He splutters, and I automatically grab his shoulder to support him. But he brushes my hand off.

"You go and help the other hyungs." He says. In moments like this it's hard to believe that he is the youngest out of us four. I nod and a

grim expression sneaks onto my face. They messed with the wrong one. I let Minhyun be and hurry to where Aron and Baekho are

fighting our 'enemies'. Baekho's wooden sword is already colored slightly red. But it's a five against two.

"You cowardly bastards!" I shout as I run directly into the fight. And then my mind goes blank. I know that my fists find their targets. And

I know that they fight back. But I'm used to cutting off the pain.

It feels like a short time until they vanish, but looking at my comrades, seems like it wasn't. They have suffered injuries, and only now I

notice that I have as well. Baekho spits.

"Damn. They got us this time." He holds his sleeve and I notice a small runlet of blood running down his cheek. Aron has a black eye. I

don't even want to know what I look like.

"But, you're really amazing as ever, JR." Aron exclaims and somehow it doesn't feel like a compliment at all.

"Nah. It's nothing to be proud of." Since we never talked much about our fights, I leave it at that and turn my back on them. We usually

only care for ourselves anyway once we get hurt. I raise my hand to wave at them and then casually walk away. I can't let them see my

pitiful state.

I turn around a corner and enter one of the crowded streets again. People from all around me are giving me weird glances, but when

my glare meets theirs, they quickly look away. I must look very suspicious. Time to get out of here. I fasten my pace when a small figure

catches my attention. A boy is leaning against the wall on my left, he has his eyes closed and covers his ears. Is he, by any chance, a

homeless? One of those crazy ones? He doesn't look dirty at all, and his face is somewhat - pretty? I quickly avert my gaze and walk

on. It feels like the boy's eyes are focusing me now, but maybe it is just my imagination. I wonder if I ever saw him around before and

decide to pay more attention to it. Somehow his picture won't get off my mind. I shake my head in disbelieve.

Sometimes, when you see a person, doesn't it feel like you're somehow connected to that somebody?
