Alex POV

“Alex, alex wake up. We’re here.” I hear Seo talking. I rub my hands to my eyes, “huh?” “Welcome to Korea!” Seo said

enthusiastically. I look around, the passengers are setting up their stuff, I got up to do the same. I looked at the back pack I

have. It’s like I requested for it to jong oppa as if I know that it will become handy last night.

Flashback

“Hello?” “Hello, Seo? I need your help”. After a short explaining to Seo, I got up and started getting things I might need. A few

clothes, my passport, credit cards, my English-korean dictionary, the photo frame beside my table. Cellphone, my fortfolio. I

changed into my comfy shirt and jeans, slipped into the new chucks jong oppa gave me stuff all the things in the backpack I

received earlier. I peeked outside, its 2 am, Dad and Oppa are already in their rooms, probably sleeping. I go out of my room and

carefullt went down the stairs. I heard something so I looked up, I sigh in relief when I found nothing, before going out the house

I looked at mom’s portrait. I smiled. “goodbye mom”. And there I go.

Flashback end

Alex and Seo went out the airport, “HHHHMMMM!! Korea” Seo said. Alex smiled at her. “ayy, don’t worry, we will figure this out.”

Seo said and put her arm around alex’s shoulder. “thank you Seo” Alex replied, she looked at seo with a moist eyes. Seo smiled and

hugged her. “It’s nothing I know you will do the same for me if I got stuck in that kind of situation too.” Seo said still hugging Alex.

She they broke the hug and looked at Alex. “Come on, Shin hye eonnie is waiting for us.” Seo hailed a cab and then she instructed

the driver the destination.

Alex POV

We are in the taxi, Seo is so excited being back here. For me, I’m curious. I’m in the country that supposed to be my home. I’m

feeling alienated but on the other part I felt comfort. “aahh.. this is home” I thought.  We got to the destination, the houses here

looks weird. GOOD WEIRD. “Come on, alex. Shin hye eonnie lives there.” Seo points at a apartment with a house in the rooftop. “Up

there?” I asked.

“Uhhmmnnn (she nods) it’s her penthouse” seo winked at me. I can’t deny I’m loving being here already. The atmosphere is inviting.

We went up the stairs. “wooah, there’s a lot of steps here” I thought. I looked at seo walking so fast like she memorized this

place. I bet she can go up here even when her eyes are close. “Here we are!” seo gestured spreading her arms. I looked at the

view, it’s beautiful. “oh! By the way Alex, try speaking in Korean now, you’re not in NYC anymore.” “huh? Deh!” I answered.

Seo knocked on the door. Alex sits on the table outside the house. “wait! Coming” a voice of a woman. The door open wide. “Seo!

You’re here! And you too!” the lady looked at Alex. Alex bowed. “Shinhye Eonnie! I missed you! It’s been a while!” seo gushed.

Shinhye and Seo hugged. “come in, I cooked some food for you I know you both are hungry.” Shinhye invited them. “come alex” seo

says.

Alex POV

I sit on the chair beside the dining table. The house is small but its not stuffy. I like the setting. “My house is kinda small, well I’m

living alone” Shinhye eonnie noticed I’m looking around. She smiled. “ani, its pretty, I’m admiring it actually.” I replied. “Omo, your

korean is good.” She said. “well, they’ve been using Korean at home, sometimes.” Seo explained. “Lee Alex right? I’m Park Shin Hye

nice to finally meet you.” She handed me her hand. I shook it and bowed.

 “yah! You act too Korean, I’m having goosebumps.” Shinhye eonnie said with rubbing her hands in her arms. I laughed. “Alex, you

don’t have a Korean name?”Shin eonnie asked. Come to think of it, I’m asking the same question for 10 years now. My brother is

using his Korean name. “I don’t know, I was born in NYC, and ever since no one told me about a Korean name. my full name is Lee

Alexandra.”

Shinhye nod. “oh is that so.  you’ve got such a girly name Alexandra, I like Alex better.” “Me too” Seo said raising her hand. We are

now eating. After eating shinhye eonnie shows me my room. “I hope it’s okay with you, It’s really small.” She asked. “No I like it.

Kamsamida” I replied.  “Seo are you staying here too?” I asked her. “deh! But I need to go home first. For cover you know.” Seo

said. I smiled. “speaking of.. I have to go now alex, shinhye eonnie, I texted Jae oppa that my flight will be arriving by 3pm” Seo

said. Then she stands up, headed to the door, before she step out she turned to me, Alex-ssi hwaiting!” then off she goes.
