Party

“You look wonderful, darling!” Mrs. Jeung looked up and down at her dolled up daughter.

“Gee, thanks.” Minji rolled her eyes. “And I thought this time you would actually listen to me when I told you not to go too over the top with the dress. How silly of me.”

“Don’t be ridiculous. You are absolutely stunning.”

Minji looked at her reflection in the mirror and couldn’t help but frown. The light pink dress that wrapped itself tightly around her body was something she was not used to see. Her hair was tied up elegantly and delicate pieces of jewelry added the final touches. “Is the back of the dress supposed to expose this much? And why do I have to wear the earring Jonghyun gave me?”

“Don’t complain and go downstairs to greet your guests.” Her mother ordered.

“You mean your guests.” Minji mumbled.

Down stairs everything was just like Minji imagined, but worst. The decoration was so elegant and over the top that Minji couldn’t help but cringe at the sight of it.

She couldn’t remember how many times she heard the words ‘how is your father?’ or ‘let me introduce you to my son’ in just thirty minutes. It was driving her nuts.

“You look beautiful.” Someone whispered into her ear. Of course, it was no one else but Kim Jonghyun.

“Thanks.” She said flatly.

“And you’re wearing the earrings I sent you.” Jonghyun noticed.

“Yeah, my mom practically sewed the to my earlobes.” Minji said. “But thanks anyways.”

Jonghyun reached for Minji’s hand and planted a soft kiss in the back. “You are very welcome.” He said seductively.

Minji pulled her hand away from his grip, uncomfortable by the other guests’ curious gazes.

What are you doing? People are staring.” Minji hissed.

“They can stare all they want.” Jonghyun chuckled.

“You know what? I’m gonna go drown myself in the chocolate fountain or whatever.” Then Minji disappeared into the crowd.

The truth was than Jonghyun would rather be at home than in this party. He had much more important things to plan than go to some birthday party to get his kissed by every guest. Well, at least he got to see Minji for a little while, as pissed off as she was. Without anything better to do, he headed for the buffet and grabbed a champagne glass from one of the waiters. He was starting to accept the idea that he was going to have to stay in the Jeung manor for the rest of the night when he saw six familiar but unwanted faces.

The Deadly Six, He clenched his glass so hard that the glass produced a cracking sound. Minji wouldn’t be so stupid to invite them here. Jonghyun glared with disgust at the six guys who awkwardly made their way to the buffet, just next to him. Pathetic, it’s like seeing monkeys in a tuxedo.

“I can’t believe you actually made me come here.” Joon stuffed his hands in his pockets. “Un ing believable.”

“Chill out, leader.” Henry smiled. “We’re here for one single thing and then we’re out.”

“Taemin, would you stop looking as if you’re about to rip your tie off?” Himchan elbowed Taemin in the ribs.

“Mind your own business.” Taemin shoved him back. “I feel like a freaking dog with a stupid collar.”

“That’s class right there.” L scoffed as he drank form a champagne glass a waiter offered him earlier. “So where is the birthday girl?”

“Probably socializing. I mean, that’s what people do in places like this, right?” Gikwang shrugged and took a bite from some fancy looking sandwich.

“Gentleman.” Jonghyun unexpectedly greeted the six boys. “How are you doing this evening?”

The Deadly Six stared at the stranger as if he was . They were not used to people suddenly talking to them all of a sudden.

“Fine.” Joon mumbled. The others nodded in agreement.

“I believe we’ve never met before, which I found quite odd.” Jonghyun said with a fake smile. “If you don’t mind my curiosity, who are your parents? Some powerful individuals, I presume.” This time, a smirk escaped his lips.

“None of your business.” L responded.

“I apologize for my rudeness.” Jonghyun chuckled. “I just wasn’t expecting to see such low class people in Jeung Minji’s party.”

Tension built up in the atmosphere. Gikwang dropped his food and looked at the others to make sure he had just heard right. L was this close to throwing a punch at that stuck up bastard, but he manage to keep himself under control.

“What did you just say?!” Taemin clenched his fists. Himchan placed a restraining hand in the boy’s shoulder so he wouldn’t do anything rash.

“I dare you to repeat that.” Joon growled.

Jonghyun took a step closer to Joon. Their noses were inches apart. “You heard me, you revolting piece of trash.”

“I’m going to kill-“ Joon had raised his punch and was ready to bury it in Jonghyun’s face when Minji’s cheerful voice interrupted him.

“Guys!” She smiled brightly as she jogged to them. “You came. Thank you so much!” Then she saw Jonghyun standing there and she felt the menacing atmosphere. “What’s going on here?” She asked, but no one answered. Joon’s eyes were still glaring furiously at Jonghyun’s.

“Jonghyun, what did you do?” She asked again, this time with an angrier voice.

“I believe we had a small misunderstanding, that’s all.” Jonghyun patted Joon’s shoulder and the he faced Minji. “I’ll go back to the party, okay?” Then he calmly walk away. Just wait. When I’m done with you guys, you won’t even dare to speak Minji’s name again.

“Are you guys okay?” Minji turned to her six friends.

“What the hell is that bastard’s problem?” Himchan said.

“He is a friend of yours?” L raised an eyebrow.

“Just a classmate.” Minji shook her head.

“I’ll break his face next time I see him.” Taemin promised.

“Forget about him. I’m so glad you all decided to come.” Minji jumped excitedly.

“Actually, we just come for one thing.” Himchan smirked.

“We’re here to bail you out!” Henry half shouted. Gikwang covered his mouth with one hand.

“Not so loud.”

“Well, yeah.” L sneered. “Lets run for it, okay?”

“A-Are you serious?” Minji said uneasily. “I can’t just leave.”

“Why not? You said you didn’t wanted this party.” Henry tilted his head, confused.

Minji thought about it for a moment. They were right. She would rather go out to the streets with them than staying in this prison.

“Alright, lets get out of here.” She nodded once.

“Lets go then.” Joon gestured. “I suggest we walk slowly towards the door so no one will notice Minji leaving. Try to blend with the crowd, got it?”

“Roger.” They all said in unison.

Minji’s hand were shaking as she headed to the door with everyone else. She was actually escaping from her own party. Her mother was going to kill her if she finds out. As Minji thought about how she was going to spend the rest of her days locked up in her room, she felt a warm hand clutching her own. She looked up in surprise.

“It’s okay, stupid.” Taemin whispered. “No one will find out.” He said almost as if he could read her mind. Minji nodded and kept holding on to Taemin’s hand. She felt a hundred times more confident know.

What does this mean? She thought. Why is my heart beating so fast?

Sang Il had been keeping an eye on Jonghyun ever since her stepped into the party, but he wasn’t expecting that Jonghyun would actually walk up to Minji’s new “friends” and insult them like that. He didn’t flinched once, even when he was about to get punch right in the face.

Now it was the moment he had been waiting for the whole night. Jonghyun was finally by himself.

“Kim Jonghyun.” Sang Il said when he approached him.

“Sang Il.” Jonghyun bowed ever so slightly. “I must say I wasn’t expecting you to come talk to me.”

“Cut the crap.” Sang Il spited. “I came here to tell you one single thing. Stay away from Minji.”

“And what makes you think I’ll listen to you?” Jonghyun laughed.

“I’m warning you, brat.” Sang Ill threatened.

“And I’m warning you, Jeung Sang Il. Keep your nose out of my business. I know you’ve been asking around about me, and I don’t appreciate that.”

“I don’t give a damn about what you appreciate or not.” Sang Ill responded. He didn’t want to admit that he had been caught while doing a background research on someone, especially if it was just a teenage boy. “If you keep messing with my sister, I’ll tell the press all about you and your gang friends.”

“Isn’t that a bit hypocritical coming from someone who used to be a gangster himself, Sang Il?” Jonghyun sneered. “Or should I say J Kill?””

“You-“

“That’s right. I happen to know a bit about you and your dirty little secrets, too. I’ll give you a final advice, since we could end up being brothers-in-law.” Jonghyun patted Sang Il’s arm playfully. “You have no idea who you’re messing with. I could destroy you this instant if I wanted to, so be smart and back off while you still can.”

“Just stay the hell away form Minji.” Sang Il said through gritted teeth and with acid in his veins. Then he stormed off to the kitchen, leaving a smiling Jonghyun behind.

Looks like things are finally getting serious. The young boy chuckled with anticipation. They’re about to know just how merciless I can be.

I really like the way you write this story by using lots of dialogue. You don't always switch the point of view, which was smart because it would be hard to follow if you switched it all the time. The plotline is very interesting and you do a good job at leaving your readers wanting more. Please update soon ^^

....Once again I feel like I'm spamming you. -__- Oh well! :D

OMGEE I LOVE where we went with the party! You're brilliant!! I hope they can sneak out ok, and not get caught. But Minji is gonna be sooooooo BUSTED later! XD And before, I thought Sang Il was a bit annoying, but now I'm rooting for him. Oh, the irony. Sang Il vs. Jonghyun... who will be the victor?? Hmmmmm.... Waiting for your next update! :D

....I feel like I'm spamming you with comments... XD

But anyways, I <3 this soooo much!! I think they'll end up going to her party anyways. They'll feel too guilty if they don't, haha. And Minji's brother, hmmm, I can't wait to see how things develop. And UGH Minji's mom annoys me so much! But then again, I'm sure that's how you wanted her to be. :))

And seriously, I couldn't even tell that English was your second language! I mean, now that you said that, I notice when you make grammar errors, but still, I love your writing style, and especially your characterization and plot!! Keep up it up! And, I'm gonna stop now cuz I really do feel like I'm spamming you now. XD
