15th Quiz - You did Great

She waited outside of the Faculty Room again that day. Unlike her, Cha Hakyeon dreaded meeting her. He realized this just now, but he actually never once trusted her. All he ever did was doubt her, whether she's causing trouble or picking fights. Seeing the stains from her uniform earlier made him feel guilty all the more. Why can't he be more trusting to her?

He walked out the room and her smile was the first thing he saw. He looked on the floor. Soon, he felt the familiar presence on his right. He looked at her beaming, before she said "let's go!" At him.

He remained rooted on his spot despite her walking away already. He frowned when he noticed that there was no more milk stains on her uniform.

"Haneul-ah!" He called her. Haneul stopped at this. This was the first time ever that he called her other than 'Yong Haneul-ssi' or 'Yong Haneul'. She whipped her head towards him. "Why?" She asked, wide-eyed. He was looking at her as if he was a kid who has lost his share of sweets.

"I'm leaving for midterms," he announced.

--

"I don't know what to say," Haneul confessed after a long while of silence. Ever since he told her about the upcoming midterm, she turned quiet. This was the first sentence she let out after what happened earlier. Hakyeon removed his gaze from the sky above, studying her face. "Are you mad at me?" He asked.

She answered with a shake of her head. "Who would teach us Chemistry then?" She inquired. He looked up the sky again. "Well... Han seonsaeng-nim?"

She grimaced at the thought. The two were currently going home. She stopped. "Really?" He nodded.

"Just kill me now." She whined lowly, before continuing her walk, this time much faster. Hakyeon frowned.

What's her problem? His brows raised when he realized something.

He took fast strides to catch up to her. "Haneul-ah!" He called when he finally caught her sleeves. She looked up at him. "That's twice already!" She exclaimed.

"Huh?"

"That you called me 'Haneul-ah'" she quoted in the air. At this, the male immediately removed the hand on her sleeves, looking away.

Get your focus back.

"Ah, right. The midterms!" She frowned at him, tilting her head. "Do well on your midterms!"

She smiled at him. "Thank you for wishing me luck!" Quickly losing her smile after, she 'tsked' at him. She her heels to leave him behind, but then he stopped her from walking away, yet again by grabbing her arm.

"I'm serious. Do well on your midterms! Pass your tests, and I'll bring you out on a date when I come back!" He exclaimed, studying the change on her expression.

His brows raised suddenly when the girl turned speechless only to flinch when she suddenly snarled at him.

"Are you seriously-" she cut herself off even before she could curse at him. He was, still, her teacher after all. "How would I do well on Midterms? I was absent like 'for the half of the semester already!'" She glared at him, huffing.

Hakyeon frowned, but refused to back down. "Exactly. Show me that you improved, study your lessons! If you need to borrow notes from your classmates, do it! You'll be able to catch up with the current lessons if you actually try." He turned more serious this time. "I told you before right? I don't want eyesores on your report card." He said, looking down at her.

She met his intense gaze with her own, refusing to back down in this argument. Is he serious? There was no way she would be able to catch up that easily. She wasn't as smart as him for goodness' sake.

"Fine! I'll do it!Make sure to take me out on a memorable date!" She snarled yet again, finally walking ahead, leaving him behind.

All the while she was walking, a thought made her stop on her tracks.

I did it.

She looked behind her to see the older guy looking at her innocently. She charged towards him. He frowned when she was near only to have his eyes bulging out of its sockets when she all of a sudden yanked him closer to her by his collar, their faces inches away from each other.

She looked up at him with wide eyes and he looked down at her, surprise all over his face.

She did it. Haneul thought. She didn't felt flustered or embarrassed anymore.

And she let his collar go, still wide eyes even when she directed her gaze towards the ground. She placed her hand in top of her heart.

She can held a staring contest against him for more than three seconds already.

Doesn't she like him anymore?

Bewildered, Yong Haneul repeated the same action earlier. Only this time, she stand on her tippy toes when Hakyeon refused to lean down, as he was caught off guard by how she acted. He moved away from her, causing the girl to lean her body against him, looking at him as if he was the only thing she could see.

Haneul frowned when Hakyeon was the one to look away this time, his face flushed. She looked at him for a little more before finally letting go of his clothes. Walking away she was bewildered beyond belief.

What's wrong with me?

--

Soon after reaching her bed, Yong Haneul opened the book yet again, looking for the possible explanation as to how she acted the way she did earlier. When she found none, she plopped down on bed.

Laying on her back, she stared at the ceiling, confused at her self. Yet again, she placed her hand atop her heart.

Don't I like him anymore?

With this thought in her head, sleep slowly took over.

--

True enough, Cha Seonsaeng-nim stopped coming to school the next days. He was serious about the 'going for midterms' after all. Haneul brought her forehead down on her desk when Han seonsaeng-nim stepped inside the room yet again.

"I really want to jump off the window now." She groaned.

--

One week ever since his absence, the young girl found herself observing her classmates one morning.

Who could be...

Just then, somebody slid the door open and everyone paused what they were doing. Soon, complained erupted when it turned out that it was just Jang Donggu, the nerd.

Haneul rolled her eyes before looking out the window. All of a sudden, her eyes turned to the size of saucers when a brilliant thought came to her.

--

Haneul kicked stones on her way home. Unfortunately, when she decided to borrow notes from the guy, he ended up running away from her because he thought she was about to bully him. She didn't dare chase after him then, he might make a big deal out of it. In the end, she found herself shaking her head as she left the field too, after he ran away from her.

Soon, she found herself on the alleyway where she first met Cha Hakyeon. She sighed, she didn't even get to tell him to do well on his exams.

Oh well, never mind. He'll do great for sure anyway. He's smart.

She was about to turn around the corner when she spotted a pair of shoes in front of her. Her eyes widened. She looked up to see a smiling Cha Seonsaeng-nim at her.

"You're here..."

--

"This is for you," Hakyeon started, sliding three piles of notebook near her. She looked down and reached for what he was giving her.

"What's this?" She opened one and turned the pages, her eyes widening in the process. "You did this?"

He answered with a slight nod, before reaching for his coffee to take a sip, looking outside to probably escape the stares she was giving him.

There were currently inside the Coffee Shop which became their regular destination whenever they're together. Haneul reached for another set, opening it as well to check the contents.

Earlier that day, she was busy looking for someone who could lend her notes for her reviewer and yet here he was, offering her what she just need. "Thank you," she squeaked, feeling embarrassed again. This successfully caught the male's attention.

"Why though?" She looked at him, to which the guy quickly avoided, looking out the glass walls.

What's wrong with me? He thought. Why can't I look at her straight?

He cleared his throat before looking down at the notebooks. "Well, I just thought that you might find difficulty mingling with your classmates because... You know..." He faltered.

"I'm a delinquent?" Haneul raised her left brow. Hakyeon quickly looked at her before looking back down. "I'm just being realistic." He told her.

She sighed before nodding. What he told her was true anyway.

Soon, she looked out the glass walls as well, studying the people outside the store. She loved the calming feeling she felt inside, being with him. She suddenly remembered what she wants to tell him earlier.

"Cha Seonsaeng-nim!" She called suddenly. He answered with a raise of his brows, waiting for her to continue. She shook her head before looking down on her coffee, reaching for it only to twirl it around. "It's nothing, let ho home." She dismissed.

--

After a few minutes of walking, the two finally reached the splitting road that signaled their separation. Both feet stopped to look at each other.

"I'm going back to Seoul," Hakyeon decided to break the silence when she didn't speak at all. He did it fast as to not stare at her eyes for long. She nodded, looking down, noticing the paper bag with the reviewers inside. She reaches for his shirt again. He looked down at her.

"Thank you," she raised the paper bag slightly. "For these." Hakyeon smiled finally, feeling the heavy tension slightly lessen.

"You're welcome."

When he started walking away, probably to head for the bus stop, Haneul finally decided to just get things over with. So heaving a deep sigh, she turned around her before shouting, "Cha Seonsaeng-nim!"

He looked at her inquiringly before she raised her free hand and fisted her knuckles.

"Do well on your exams, and come back immediately, okay?"

His answer was a beaming smile intended only for her.

--

During the nights that proceeded, Haneul found herself enjoying studying for the exams especially now that the reviewer she was using came from him. She would occasionally found herself smiling at the small drawings and captions at almost every topic in the summary.

There are times that she felt very lazy to turn the pages and study but then, reading his encouraging words in it made her continue and convince herself that she needs to do well, as he was doing his best at the other side of the country, so he could go back to her.

As cheesy as it may sound, Haneul felt like he hasn't left at all. With the way he inserted quotes and tips in the pages, it was like he was there lecturing her, just like how he behaves during his classes.

Haneul never felt more confident that she will do well on her exams more than this.

--

The day of the much awaited Midterm Examination arrive and the students became nervous more than ever. Haneul could only gape at them though. Why so serious? Its not like they'll die if they fail the exam. She shook her head at the thought.

--

After three days allotted for the exams, the results soon came out and just like any other students, Haneul anticipated the event.

From afar, the girl could see students crowding around the place already. She grimaced, I'll just let them finish first.

She frowned though, when she spotted that same familiar back figure standing out because well, he was taller than the kids. Her eyebrows raised in fascination.

He's back.

Haneul smiled brightly, skipping to reach him. She couldn't explain why but she felt so happy seeing that he came back already.

Soon, the students started scattering away from the scene. The girl stopped upon reaching his right, looking up the names pasted on the Bulletin Board.

"Yong Haneul..."

Hakyeon looked on his right, sensing another presence beside him. His throat felt dry after seeing her after several days of being in the university. He observed her focused face, before looking back at the bulletin board when she exclaimed, "Aha!"

"85, 76, 84, 87, 82." She turned to him, her arms raised as she wait for him to lay his eyes on her. When he finally did, the girl beamed at him.

"I did it, didn't I?" She asked him. He smiled a little at her before nodding.

"Yes. You did great." He answered. Looking at her as if she was the only thing he needed in the world.

A/N: I seriously need to create a chapter dedicated for Cha Hakyeon's POV or my heart would never rest assured. Did you actually felt the tension between the two? It was supposed to be heavy. But oh well, never mind if I failed OTL. I promise to do better next time.

I don't know if you guys notice, but this chapter was supposed to show a little development in their relationship. If you didn't get the hint, read again the previous chapter where (zips mouth) I'm not spilling anymore.

Also, I'm getting comments but I can't actually reply to them, I Dont know why (•.•) but rest assured that I'm reading them and it motivates me to try harder and do my best.

Anyways I hope it was a fun read, leave me comments?

Thankyow!!!
