The next morning was torture for Onew.

Taemin had run off to school after getting up late, so there hadn't been any time for them to talk anymore. The leader ended up killing time with Minho - Key and Jonghyun had some kind of appointment at a newscast in Seoul. Key also said he'd pick Taemin up from school on his way back – just to make sure that nothing else happened.

Onew had told Key about what had happened and they decided on doing some 'family talk' this evening.

“What time is it?” he asked and looked at the clock on the kitchen wall.

“Three minutes later than before.” Minho answered with an amused chuckle. “Stop asking, you won't make time go by faster anyway.”

Onew pouted and focused on their work half-heartedly. “I'm not in the mood of writing ...” he mumbled and stared down on his paper.

He and Minho were trying to write a new song, but they were failing pretty badly.

“It's crap anyway ...”

“Bet it's not. Let me see.” Minho grabbed his paper and took a look at it. It took him a couple of seconds to read through everything.

“Well I think it's great.” he said and stared at Onew in disbelief. “Why don't you like it, it's amazing!”

“No, it's not ...” Onew mumbled and snatched the paper back. “It's so cheesy and … I just don't like it. Not what I had in mind at all.”

“What's in your mind then?” the rapper asked and crossed his arms in front of his chest. He leaned back and examined the leader thoroughly.

“Well ...” he said and stared at what he had written. “I want it to be special, you know. This sounds like a lot of other songs. The title is the only thing I like until now.”

“What was it again?”

“Thought you'd never ask.”

Taemin, Jonghyun and Key got home during the afternoon – apparently they had done some shopping. Jonghyun and Taemin were carrying a whole bunch of bags while Key was only clinging to one little pocket.

“I thought we should re-decorate the dorm a bit.” he explained when Onew and Minho stared at the bags. “It's been like this sine we moved in, I'm tired of it.”

Taemin and Jonghyun put the bags away and went back to the hallway, taking their shoes off.

Onew went after them – he had been waiting for Taemin all day and had been so happy when the doorbell finally rang.

As soon as the maknae had kicked off his shoes he literally jumped into the leaders arms, laughing happily.

“Wait up a second!” Jonghyun hastily said, a smile curling around his lips. “Wait until I'm gone, will you.” he got rid of his shoes and left the hallway, leaving them alone.

Taemin giggled childishly and hugged Onew tighter. “I missed you. Hyung!” he chirped and got on his tiptoes.
“I missed you, too.” the leader said and turned his head so he could give him a soft kiss on the cheek. “How was school?”

“It was okay.”

“Anything happened?”

Taemin shook his head. “Nothing. Key Umma picked me up from the classroom ...”

“That's good.” he kissed the maknae once more and tightened the hug. Taemin giggled once again and removed his head from the leaders shoulder so he could look at him.

“Taemin-ah,” Onew said, “you're really pretty.”

“Thanks, hyung.” the maknae said and smiled gently. When they broke the hug they heard someone behind them clearing his throat.

“Done already?” it was Key – he sounded quite amused. “Taeminnie, lunch is ready.”

The maknaes face lit up in an instant. “Already!?” he asked loudly and whipped up and down.

“We're having noodle soup today, so … basically, yes.” Onew laughed when he saw the pure happiness in Taemins face – Taemin rarely stopped eating was always hungry. It was so adorable.

Taemin grabbed Onew by the hand and pulled him back to the kitchen hastily. “Let's eat!”

The rest of the noontime went by quickly.

They ate lunch together, Taemin worked on his homework with help of Jonghyun and Minho, Key was re-decorating the dorm and Onew was sitting on his bed, working on the lyrics for his song.

He had actually managed to write them in a way he liked it. It sounded quite nice by now.

When he was about to get to the bridge he was disturbed by Key who entered the bedroom silently.

“Hey.” he said and sat down on the corner of the bed. “What're you doing?”

“I'm working on a song.” Onew answered and showed him the papers. “I just finished the first verse.”

“May I see it?”

He handed Key the text and watched him as he read through it. He could hear Taemin and Jonghyun discussing the maknaes English homework in the living room.

“Onew hyung, this is amazing.” Key said after a while and looked up from the papers. “Where did you get that idea from?”

“Uhm ...” Onews face flushed a bit and he leaned back against his pillows. “It just got to me.” he lied and stared at his twiddling fingers.

Key grinned slightly and put the lyrics away, examining the leader. “Taeminnie is cute. You're not the only one who thinks like that.”

Onews blush deepened and he nodded automatically. “However, I want to talk about Taemin-ah to be honest ...” Key sat up straighter and exhaled through his mouth, apparently thinking about how to start this conversation. Onew watched him in anticipation, not sure what the singer wanted to talk about.

It might've been the bullying thing he wanted to talk about but … they had decided on talking about it later, and Key never ignored a schedule.

“I want you to take Taemin on a date tonight.”

Onews jaw dropped slightly – this was the last thing he had expected, especially from Taemins so-called Umma.

“Don't look at me like that!” Key said angrily and nudged his chin gently. “I have a working mind, too! I know you'll start going out soon! I just don't want my son to have a bad start with his first relationship ever … So I took care of everything.”

“You took care of our first date …?”

“Well … not literally but … I mean … If you mess up it'll still but if you behave nicely you're gonna have a great evening.”

Onew chuckled and pushed himself up. “Do I have to wear a suit?” he asked and sighed in relief when Key shook his head.
“For goodness sake, no way! I want you to have a nice evening, not something you'd remember in a bad way because of wearing a stupid suit!”

“How thoughtful.” he teased and stuck his tongue out. Key sighed and got a bit closer to him, lowering his voice to a whisper.

“Listen, I only want Taemin to be happy. I also want you to be happy. Please, I picked a nice place for you to go to and got you tickets.”

He smiled softly.

“Trust me, it's worth visiting.”
