Jongup stared at the chubby little boy in front of him.

'This is Zelo,' Himchan explained. 'We adopted him because we thought you needed a friend.'

Jongup scowled. 'I don't want friends.'

From that day on, Zelo got all the attention, and Jongup resented him. He got angry when he looked at Zelo and felt his heart flutter. He hated his feelings for the younger boy. Maybe they would go away.

They didn't go away.

Jongup couldn't stand it. He ran away. Wonsik took him in like a true brother- HE was someone Jongup could depend on.

But Wonsik was taken away. Having nowhere else to go, Jongup returned home. His parents cried when they saw him, telling him how much they had missed him. But it was Zelo he was interested in. He wanted to apologize- and confess.

'Zelo?' Jongup asked when they were finally alone.

'Yes?'

'I've missed you. A lot.'

Zelo smiled a little. 'I missed you too.'

'I-' Jongup didn't dare say it. Instead, he kissed the younger boy on the cheek, very softly.

Then he turned away and buried his face in his hands. 'I'm so sorry,' he murmered. He waited for Zelo's rage.

Instead, Zelo hugged him. 'Jongup, this...this won't work. It can't happen. We're brothers now.'

He kissed Jongup back, then turned away. 'I can't do this, Jongup, I'm sorry.'

And just like that, it was all over. That one night, that one conversation, destroyed Jongup, and ruined their lives completely.

(skip ahead a few years)

'I can't do this, Jongup, I'm sorry.'

No. You can do this. Please.

Jongup stared angrily at the man he had just knocked down. He wanted to do something awful, something to make his parents hate him enough to disown him. He didn't even know this man, but he wanted to hurt him.

He wanted to kill him.

He took his gun. It wasn't loaded, so he couldn't shoot, but there was another way.

He stared hitting the man's face, hard, with gun. When he finished, the man was bleeding, but alive. It was not enough.

Jongup took out his knife and slashed three times across the man's face. Then he sank the knife into his heart. The man's breathing slowed and stopped.

He was dead.
