CHAPTER  FOUR: Her Comfortable Oppa. His Cute Dongsaeng.

It was an early Sunday morning in Super Junior dorm. However, every member was in the living room, even those who came back from late night radio show. They were looking at their beloved maknae and making sure that he looked perfect in every way possible.

- Guys, I just got a call from Taeng, Seohyun is wearing a blue dress. Kyu, go change immediately. – Leeteuk told Kyuhyun in a hush voice. – You two need to match so you could be her destiny.

Heechul rolled his eyes. What is this big fuss all about again?

- Yah, Teukie, it’s just a first date. Not like they are gonna get married tomorrow and have kids and live happily ever after.

Kyuhyun was going back to his room while he heard Heechul’s voice, and he couldn’t resist the urge to glare back to his hyung viciously. We will live happily ever after!!!

- But you have to agree that maknae looks stupid in this gray suit. – Eunhyuk didn’t miss his chance to attack Kyuhyun.

It wasn’t that he hated Kyu. It’s the way they communicated, or you may say, showed their love. However this time, Eunhyuk astonished when Kyuhyun let his insult slip, and did not even bother to shoot him a glare.

- Wow, this is eye-opening. Did I see it wrong or Kyu actually ignored Eunhyuk’s lame insult?

In the corner, Shindong stopped his yawing in the middle, because he was too surprised when seeing Kyuhyun’s reaction. Wow, Seohyun and her charm on his evil maknae.

- Kyu, be quick. You need to pick Seohyun up in 20 minutes – Leeteuk, being the responsible one that he was, shouted to get everyone’s attention. – You all, double check everything. Don’t make the effort we put in for him to get this position to waste. And more importantly, don’t make Seohyunie think less of Super Junior.

- Like she doesn’t know what we are already – Heechul grumbled, but actually stepped close to Kyuhyun because he saw how serious his makenae was about his date – Kyu, turn around.

As Kyuhyun followed his orders, he nodded in satisfaction

- You’re ready to go, maknae.

- CHO.KYU.HYUN. FIGHTINGGGG!!!!!

All members shouted at once, which made Kyuhyun’s face suddenly turn red.

- Yah what’s this… - He mumbled - Thank you all, hyung.

Leeteuk looked at him with mix feelings, but finally it all turned out to a sigh

- Go out there and capture Joohyun’s heart, kid. Bring her back to Super Junior. But beware, I’ll watch over you to make sure that you don’t do anything appropriate.

- Trust me. I won’t, hyung. She is Joohyun.

My Joohyun. He thought.

The door bell rang in Girls’ Generation dorm, breaking the silence of a peaceful morning. YoonA quickly ran to the door, chirping happily:

- Good morning, Kyu oppa. Our Seohyun has been waiting for you.

- T-Thank you, YoonA-ah.

- Let him in first, Yoong. – SooYong called over. – He won’t be let off that easily.

As Kyuhyun walked into the common space of the dorm, he was greeted by serious and questioning looks from his usual friendly dongsaeng. He couldn’t help but touched his face

- Is there something on my face?

- No. – Jessica was the first one to open the floor – Kyuhyun oppa, please understand but not all of us are happy with the reason why you are here today.

- I-I understand. – He started becoming awkward, not knowing how to respond.

- You have made quite a name for yourself with your list of ex-girlfriends. – Hyoyeon furrowed her eyebrows in disapproval – and I sensed that you probably bribed your way into this position?

- Hyoyeon! – He almost screamed, but had thought of better of it. – I am serious about Seohyun. She is the only… Aish, nevermind.

Kyuhyun looked around, and saw that most of the members, except YoonA, were looking at him suspiciously. He took a deep breath and said

- I know that I may not be the nicest person on Earth.

- Everyone knows that. – Sooyoung snorted.

- Choi.Soo.Young. I’m still your oppa.

- But you are going out with our maknae. We are your in-laws, now! – Yuri joined her, trying to attack Kyuhyun. I didn’t vote for you anyway!

- Let him finish. – Taeyoon looked at her members. Her head started to ache.

Kyuhyun smiled at her gratefully. He took another deep breath

- Thanks, Taeng. Question my personality all you want, but no need to doubt my feeling for her. I know that you are her unnie, but remember, I’m also her oppa. I am no less protective of her than you are.

Maybe more than you all combine when it comes to boys.

Soshi members looked at each other, trying to reach an agreement. Finally, Jessica, the one who started all of this, decided to be the one who closed it

- Well, we can’t stop from you seeing her anyway since you’re already here. Judging from your embrassing expression everytime she’s around, - Jessica smirked when she saw the evil maknae of Super Junior blushed - we’ll give you…

But she was suddenly cut off by a sweet voice

- Unnie, I’m ready. Is he here yet?

Seohyun gasped when she saw who were standing in the middle of the room. For the first time in her entire life, she wanted to curse. Ughhhhh, why did I trust my unnies and their crazy ideas, again?

- Kyuhyun oppa?

- Yeah, your comfortable oppa, Seohyun – Hyoyeon maknae – He sure will make you feel comfortable, right?

Seohyun blushed. She never knew her unnie could be this annoying, even more annoying than when she tried to wake them up in the morning.

- Morning, Seohyunie. – Kyuhyun turned to her and smiled sheepishly, then quickly looked away. Athough it was only a quick glance, he was astounded by her beauty, as always.

Soshi members started to gigle. And Taeyeon’s head ached, again. Her head had been aching constantly since the minute her maknae proposed the seemingly innocent request. She quickly grabbed both Seohyun and Kyuhyun, and pushed them to door:

- You two should leave, or you’ll be late.

All SNSD members followed them all the way to ground floor, and kept gigling the whole time, which made both of their faces turn to the shade of tomatoes. Before they left the dorm, Jessica pointed two fingers to her eyes and then pointed them to Kyuhyun, telling him that she would definitely keep an eye on him, so he better not did anything stupid.

- Kyuhyun oppa, don’t lay a finger on my maknae…

While Taeyoon was giving them some final words, as if to challenge her, Kyuhyun suddenly reached for Seohyun’s hand, and ran off in full speed. Under all Soshi’s very eyes.

- KYU!HYUN!OPPA!!!

And because of that, the peaceful morning of the building was destroyed by SNSD’s yelling.

Even when they got to the parking lot, Seohyun could still hear her unnies’s voices, loud and clear.

- Oppa – She pouted. – Why did you do that?

- Do what? – Kyuhyun looked at her, trying to play dumb. – Running off? I can’t take anymore talking from your unnie.

- It’s not that… - Seohyun blushed, suddenly realizing that they were still holding hands.

Seohyun took her hands back quickly, almost too quick that Kyuhyun felt his heart dropped.

- Then what’s?

- Nevermind. I’m sorry oppa, my unnie are very talkative sometimes.

Suddenly, they didn’t know what to say next. As Kyuhyun tried to find a new topic, Seohyun abruptly stopped walking.

- What’s wrong? Oh, I’m sorry. I shouldn’t have made you run while you are wearing heels. – Kyuhyun looked at her, almost kneel down to take a look at Seohyun’s feet. – Let’s oppa see.

Seohyun held to his hand to stop him from his doing so. Kyuhyun looked at her confusingly, but at the same time, his heart started racing when he realized that Seohyun purposely hold his hands. Instead of fixing her gaze to the ground as she had been doing the whole time, Seohyun looked directly at Kyuhyun, and was hesistant for a few seconds before she spoke:

- It’s not about heels at all. I’m sorry oppa. When I first asked my unnie about boys, I didn’t expect that they would drag you into this.

- Huh? – Kyuhyun smiled dreamingly. He probably was too busy planning his weeding with Seohyun to fully understand what she was trying to say.

- Oppa, tell me honestly, did my unnie force you to go on a date with me? I’m fine, really. You don’t have to sacrifice your time or fake your feeling for my sake.

His smile immediately froze, but he quickly regained his composure. Kyuhyun looked around, feeling a bit unpleasant to propose in such an unromantic place. But he knew this moment could be a turning point. Very well then.

- Seo Joohyun, listen carefully because what I say next is very important.

He took a deep breath and looked into her eyes. She stood still, her gaze was fixed to his eyes, which was full of affection and compassionate emotions.

- I have adored you for a long time, and I don’t think I will stop anytime soon. You may find that unconvincing, but please don’t jump to conclusion. Please give me a chance to prove to you that I mean every word of what I just said.

Seohyun kept quiet, but her face turned to brightest shade of red.

- Please, nice Joohyunie?

She didn’t know what to say, instead she just nodded. But that small gesture was enough to make Kyuhyun smile widely, like he was the happiest man on Earth.

Kyuhyun took Seohyun to a planetarium that was completely booked by Super Junior manager to ensure their privacy. As they seated and the light started to fade, he turned to her and whispered:

- I hope you like this. At least I know that you do always want to learn something new, and this is definitely a place for that.

They were in complete darkness. And their senses became stronger than ever. His sweet and soft voice sounded like the most romantic love song that she had ever listened to. His breath was warm and close… too close that for a second, she thought he had kissed her cheek.

- I do… like it, oppa – Her voice trembled lightly, but she kept herself quiet before her voice sold her nervousness out.

Her perfume was full of white floral. The way she said “I do” made him imagining her in a white weeding dress, walking down the aisle toward him. They were so close, he could feel his lips touching her chubby cheek, and he had to stop himself from kissing her for more than a second.

The video started showing, stars and planets were blinking like diamonds in the sky. And Seohyun suddenly felt like she and Kyuhyun were left in the universe alone, all by themselves.

Just like years ago.

Kyuhyun glanced at her secretly, and when he realized that she was in her own world, he couldn’t help but wondered if she remembered. If she understood his true intention of bringing her here.

To go back in time.

To the night that started this all.

Outside of the planetarium, across from the street, a group of famous idols were walking around impatiently. Luckily for them, it was quite early in the morning and there weren’t many people around, or else their suspicious behaviors would sure bring in attention.

Yunho growled, tried to keep his voice low, but everyone could hear his frustration clearly:

- Whose idea was this? Why would anyone let Kyuhyun bring Seohyun to a place that we can’t see what’s happening?

- What can Kyu oppa do anyway? – Hyoyeon sighed, but as if she thought of something, she furrowed her brows – Actually, Eunhyuk told me that he’s a ert.

And that was enough to set off the bomb named Jung Yunho

- I’m coming in.

Eunhyuk glared at Hyoyeon, but quickly turned to grab Yunho. He didn’t know what to do to calm down the angry Yunho, so he said whatever came to his mind first, but he immediately regreted his action.

- Kyuhyun told me that she was just his cute dongsaeng. He won’t do anything…

- Dongsaeng my a**. – Yunho groaned.

Hyoyeon didn’t bother to hide her sarcasm:

- And you actually believe whatever he says? Since when you became like Donghae oppa?

- He said Jessica was his pretty dongsaeng. He didn’t do anything either. – Donghae still hadn’t realized what was going on.

Hyoyeon rolled her eyes and mumbled to herself:

- It’s a wonder that you are still alive and healthy.

Next to her, Eunhyuk couldn’t do anything but agreed whole-heartedly.

Suddenly, a familiar female voice captured their attention

- I thought I saw it wrong but it was actually you guys.

- Ji-sun unnie – Hyoyeon smiled and waved to her – Are you filming here today?

- No…no, not exactly. We are still looking at different places for the next show. What are you all doing here this early?

They looked at each other hesistantly. Of course, they couldn’t tell her that they were supervising the date of Cho Kyuhyun and Seo Joohyun. But, which reason should they use then?

While four of them moved closer to each other and tried to come up with a reason, they had missed a naughty glint flashed through Ji-sun’s eyes. And almost at the same moment, two people could be seen half-hiding, half-standing next to the side door of the planetarium. As the taller one waved to Ji-sun, she smiled understandingly and turned to the four:

- Aigoo, I didn’t have breakfast yet. Do you guys want to go to a nearby restaurant with me?

- Thank you very much but, we…are kinda busy.

- Huh? But you still need to eat breakfast right? It’s hard to meet you all like this. Come on! It’ll be on me, arasso?

- Oh.. we…

While they were focusing on how to get out of this situation, little did they know that Kyuhyun and Seohyun had already en routed to the next destination.

Seohyun didn’t quite understand what was with all the running today. First, Kyuhyun oppa dragged her out of the dorm, and just at the moment, he grabbed her hand again to run off to catch a bus. So, when she realized that her Kyuhyun oppa seemed to forget to let go of her hand even when they were walking together in a park, she decided to remind him

- Oppa, your hand… - Thinking was always good, because when she started to open , she blushed and couldn’t finish the sentence.

- Joohyun-ah, didn’t you agree that you would give me a chance? We’re on a date. Please let me hold your hand? Pleaseee? – He spoke softly, his eyes pleading.

- I-I guess.

It was a beautiful morning. They were alone in a private, tranquil park, sharing a headphone and listening to one of their favorite songs. Actually, they were having their own concert, singing and humming along to the melody.

The melody of memories.

- It has been a long time – Kyuhyun whispered suddenly.

Seohyun wasn’t sure if he was even talking to her, because he looked like he was in his own world, but she agreed quietly:

- It has.

Since when?

Since the first time they met at a small garden?

Or since the last time they shared a headphone and enjoyed themselves like this?

She wasn’t sure if Kyuhyun heard it either, but he did rub his finger onto her hand and squeeze it tightly.

Just like the old times.
