 *LUVLY POV

 

 Leena and I walk out of the classroom and was heading after school canteen when we saw a lot of students gather round the information board. We take a look and saw,

 

“ ‘SHINEE RIVALRY TALENT CONTEST’

 

SHINee will be having theirs own talent contest.

All students are welcome.

*The teachers, PLEASE STAY OUT OF THIS.

 

Place: School Hall

Time: 9.00 am sharp

Date: November 27, 2010 (Staurday)

Prize of the winner: Shin Hyo Young (Luvly)

Judges: Lee Jinki (Onew), Kim Kibum (Key), Choi Minho (Minho) and Shin Hye Won (Leena)”

 

My eyes went VERY big seeing my name AS the prize.

The students there are all staring at me.

Embarassed, I ran back to SHINee secret room and almost knocked the door down.

Leena was panting behind me.

When the door opened, I ran inside without seeing who opened the door for me.

“Luvly,” Key said, surprised at me, I guess.

“Whose idea is it?” I said, mad.

“What ‘it’?” Minho said, entering the room with Leena. I guess he’s the one who opened the door.

“The rivalry thingy,” I said.

“Oh…” is all come out from Minho and Key’s mouth.

“Where are the rest?” Leena asks.

“Onew hyung is currently talking to Lee Eun Hye noona, president of the talent club about the rivalry contest. Jonghyun hyung and Taemin are now handling pamphlet all over the school,” Key said, a little confused and unlike his nagging self.

“Why is Onew oppa talk to Eunhye unnie?”  Leena asks.

“Discussing about the rivalry,” Minho said.

“Why?” I said, curious.

“He’s the one who make an alliance with her for the rivalry thingy,” Key said.

Hearing that, I changed from mad to furious.

LEE JINKI!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

 

 TALENT CLUB MEETING ROOM

 

 I opened the door and almost knocking myself for losing my balance.

“YAH LEE JINKI!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!”

“Luvly?” he said, looking at me.

Eunhye unnie is also staring at me with wide eyes.

“WHO TOLD YOU TO MAKE ME THE PRIZE ITEM?!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!” I shriek, attacking him with my fist.

“ARGH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!” he shouts, running away from me.

He ran out of the room and I follow him.

We arrive at the school canteen where most of the students are there.

“Okay!!!! I’M SORRY!!!!!!!!!!!!! STOP CHASING ME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!” Onew said loudly, begging and held his hand in the air, showing sign of surrender but I chase him until we arrived at the SHINee secret room.

“ARGH!!!!!!!!!!!” I said, pushing him down.

He was on the floor, tired of running away I guess.

He has such a really weak energy.

I was on top of him.

His front body was against the floor.

Minho, Key and Leena were staring at us both.

I push myself up and glare at him panting on the floor.

“I should’ve mention Luvly was ex runner in elementary school,” Leena said quietly.

“Jinjja? What category?” Minho said, suddenly interested.

“Not that kind of running,” Leena said, stopping him from becoming more excited.

“Then?” Key asks.

“In a category of running away from principal,” Leena said.

“BWAH?” Minho and Key shout together, shocked.

 

 TAEMIN’S HOUSE

 

 I enter the special room for Taemin to do his dancing.

He stopped dancing for a while when he sees me.

“Annyeong,” I said, politely.

I came here just to stop him from fighting with his own hyung.

And also feeling guilty for making SHINee fought against themselves.

“Annyeong,” Taemin reply, his eyebrow rose up.

I guess he’s just feeling weird, seeing me not shouting at him.

“Why’d you come here?” he asks.

“Stop doing this,” I said.

“Do what?” he asks, grabbing a glass of water and drink it.

“This whole thing that you were doing,” I said.

“What thing?” he said, pretend don’t know anything.

“This whole rebellion thing. He’s your hyung for godsake,” I said.

“So? Doesn’t make he qualified enough to take what belong to me,” Taemin said.

“I’m not yours and I’m not his,” I said.

“You used to be. Only three days we clash, he starts to be all over you,” Taemin said, defending his own self.

“What is wrong with that?” I said, defending Jonghyun.

“WHAT IS WRONG WITH THAT YOU SAY?!” Taemin shouts, feeling hot. “WHAT IS WRONG IS THAT HE BETRAYED ME! YOU ARE MY EX-GIRLFRIEND, I ADMIT THAT. But he is my hyung. We’ve known each other since we’re kids. But not long after we clash, he start making out with you. I feel betrayed…” he said.

I can sense impatient in his voice.

As though he felt exasperated that he had to explain all this to me.

Like I don’t know what he felt.

Maybe I don’t.

But one thing I know, I don’t like fighting.

“It my choice who I want to choose to be my boyfriend and who I want to kiss,” I said.

“It is also my choice to enter this rivalry and fight for the best. It is all a matter of pride. Women never understand that.”

I felt hit by his choice of words.

He pushes the button play on his mp3 and I left the room with no other words.

 

 THE MUSIC STORE

 

 I don’t know why but I got a really strong feeling Jonghyun is in the music store.

Perhaps he’s practicing his singing.

I walk toward the usual corner we used to practice piano lesson.

There he is, looking peace with no distress.

“Annyeong oppa,” I said.

“Annyeong,” he said, smiling when he sees who had come.

“May I sit down?” I said.

“Sure,” he said.

I took an empty sit beside him and hear him play another beautiful song,

“So, baby you don’t have to let me go, I’ll give you all I have, Be your driver and protect you at anytime, Hope you could only love one person forever, I can do all for you, Cause you’re the only one for me…”

“That’s beautiful,” I said.

“Thank you,” Jonghyun said.

“Is it one of your favourite?” I ask.

“No. It’s actually Taemin’s favourite,” Jonghyun said.

“Oh… What’s it called?” I ask.

“The only one for me,” Jonghyun answered.

 I smile.

Suddenly, “Saranghaeyo~”

I stop smiling and look at Jonghyun.

His face is very near with me.

He looks very charming when he says that.

I don’t even know if he kissed me or not.

But my lips felt warm.

And I realize something.

I love him too…

I think…

 

 SCHOOL HALL

THE DAY OF RIVALRY

 

 It was the day of the competition.

A piano was put at the right side of the stage for Jonghyun’s performance.

Leena, Minho, Key and Onew at the very front near the stage.

They’re the judges after all…

I’m right beside Leena.

The MC?

Onew…

“Welcome to the very first of SHINee Rivalry Contest!”

All of the students are cheering up for their favourite SHINee contestants.

Some of them brought banners.

“Today, we have two of SHINee members to compete against each other to win a very valuable prize!”

They all shouted again.

“The prize is Shin Hyo Young!”

Some of them shout again.

The rest maybe tired cheering.

“STOP SAYING I’M THE PRIZE! I’M NOT AN OBJECT!” I shout, exploding.

“Araso, araso…” Onew said, waving his hand at me. “Without wasting any more time, I present you, LEE TAE MIN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!”

The Taemints are all cheering up again.

Boo are all coming from the Blingers.

Taemin start to dance when a song being played.

“Noona you are so pretty, Boys won’t leave you alone, Honestly, I know your shaking feelings, To you, I know this love is one moment, one feeling, But no matter what is said, this is my life’s everything…”

I watch him dance through out the song.

All the senior unnies are shouting like crazy.

It hurts my ears…

REALLY BAD…

Then the chorus came out and all of them are shouting even louder and much crazier,

“Noona you are so pretty (look look at you I go), Crazy (But but now I’m tired), Replay, Replay, Replay, Memories swipe at my heart (It it hurts, when will my feelings be), Fixed (The the ever-drawing day of goodbye), Replay, replay, replay…”

“What’s the title of this song?” I ask Minho while Taemin was dancing wildly.

Honestly, my heart’s beating so fast it would pop out any minute when I see him working so hard just to win me back.

“Noona neomu yeoppo,” he answered, eyes stay at Taemin.

I look at the front back and he was ready for the last chorus.

“Noona you are so pretty (look look at you I go), Crazy (But but now I’m tired), Make up, shake up, break up, Memories swipe at my heart (it it hurts, when will my feelings be), Fixed (The the ever-drawing day of goodbye), Make up, shake up, break up…”

Oh god…

Does he really have to be this handsome at this moment?

He looks so serious and full of charisma.

I’m confused.

My feelings are torn apart between Jonghyun and Taemin.

I love Taemin.

He’s willing to do anything for me and he’s sweet whenever he says he loves me.

And I like Jonghyun too.

He’s romantic and everything that I’ve ever dreamed of if I ever date someone.

“Ah ah, beautiful you, Ah ah, I know I have yet to find anyone a sincere love, Ah ah, although it’s such a waste, Ah ah, I have given to you at such young age sincere love, can you not accept it?”

God please help me through with this problem.

My face felt hot when Taemin look at me and smile throughout the very last bit of chorus,

“Noona you are so pretty (look look at you I go), Crazy (but but now I’m tired), Replay, replay, replay, Memories swipe at my heart (it it hurts, when will my feelings be), Fixed (the the ever-drawing day of goodbye), Replay, replay, replay… Noona you are so pretty… (keep thinking bout ‘cha), Noona you are so pretty… (keep thinking bout ‘cha)… Have you ever tasted sincere love?”

At the word of ‘Have you ever tasted sincere love’, Taemin stare at me really hard.

I look at something else as not to look at Taemin.

He’s trying to pledge with words and face.

After the song finish, he bow 90 degree and ran backstage.

“Nice performance there, Taemin!” Onew shouts.

The Taemints are all shouting their lungs out again.

The blingers are booing.

“Okay… Now, for our next talented performance, KIM JONG HYUN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!” Onew shouts.

The blingers are shouting and cheering while the Taemints are booing.

I saw Jonghyun wink at me all the way toward the piano.

I smiled but then I saw Taemin looking at Jonghyun hard and he was holding his fist.

I just hope no one fight ‘MEN TO MEN’.

The piano been played and Jonghyun started singing,

“The sprinkling of you that fill my heart, This give me enough strength to breath, When the long night is shown by the moonlight, I patiently wait for an end to free me from this pain, Questioning myself, I wait for a miracle…“

Jonghyun was closing his eyes, feeling deep into the rhythm.

The lyrics had touched me so deeply.

Maybe because the words have no noona and strictly showing it was for the person he loves. Wait, he DOES love me right?

Aigoo…

I felt in love with the bling-bling…

The chorus is in and all the Blingers even Taemints are all being quiet and watching Jonghyun.

“Oh, I can’t show you my real feelings that want to love, Like the heavy clouds that hide the shining stars, Saranghae, even though you haven’t heard my confession, That turns into a falling tears…”

The whole time the chorus being played, he never stopped staring at me.

AISH…

He is pledging again.

“Even though it hurts to death, You stuck in my heart and I don’t want to replace you, Cause it’s love, To me it’s true love…”

He doesn’t want to replace me…

Then the chorus is once again in,

“Oh, I can’t show you my real feelings that want to love, Like the heavy clouds that hide the shining stars, Saranghae, even though you haven’t heard my confession, That turns into a falling tears…”

Oh god, help me make decision, FAST!

“Even though it hurts to death, You stuck in my heart and I don’t want to replace you, Cause it’s love, To me it’s true love…”

Then the last chorus is in,

“Even if I can’t have you to myself, Cause of the sad fate that blocks my growing heart, Saranghae, even if I can only watch you from here, Because you’re my everything, I still lay awake for many nights, When the sky pours down rain like my never ending tears, Remember that I love you so much…”

But the only word I hear is,

“I need you, I’m trying dying crying for you baby, It’s not too hard, oh no… Cause you’re mine for who you are, Although it hurts, Although you make me cry, Saranghae…”

Because at those words, he look at me with those pitiful eyes of him, trying to make me understand he loves me.

Jonghyun bows 90 degree and went backstage.

“Thank you, Jonghyun and now, all of you please kindly wait for at least 15 minutes while the judges talk among themselves to choose the winner. Meanwhile, the school drama society will present us their own performance. Enjoy,” Onew said, bowing and ran in one step toward us.

Key, Minho and Leena are packing their stuff.

“Where are you going?” I ask.

“Usual place,” Key said.

“I want to come!” I said, whining.

“Luvly, you HAVE to come…” Minho said, leaving the school hall, following Key and Onew.

At the SHINee secret room, Onew start talking.

“Okay guys… who to choose?”

“Taemin is confident and his expression is also good. His dancing is unbelievable and he even dances along with the song,” Leena said, looking serious.

“But he didn’t react with audience and the only person that he actually reacts with is Luvly,” Minho said.

Everyone there look at me before Key said, “Jonghyun hyung?”

“His melodic voice is beautiful but there is one time, I think his pitch is a little TOO high, it hurts my ears,” Onew said.

“His lyrics had everyone deeply and had finally made those noona calm down,” Minho said.

“Thank god… They hurt my ears,” I said.

“Those who choose Taemin?” Key said, looking around.

He and Leena shoot their hands in the air.

“And those who choose Jonghyun?” Key said, once again, looking around.

Minho and Onew shoot their hands right up.

“We have a problem then…” Key said.

“Luvly, who did you’ll pick?” Leena asks me, out of blue.

“Me?”

“Yes you…” she said.

“But, I’m not the judges,” I said.

“It is no use if we choose someone, but you don’t like that someone,” Minho said.

I have the feeling he’s referring to Taemin.

Everyone there look at me for answer.

I just gulp.

 

 THE SCHOOL HALL

30 MINUTES LATER

 

 “Sorry for the 15 minutes delayed. They’re both talented and we have a problem choosing one of them. So, DO YOU HAVE FUN?!” Onew shouts.

Yes is coming from all over that place.

I make my decision and there is no turning back.

Well, actually I can just change the results…

It’s just for a dramatic actions when I said, ‘There is no turning back’.

“Now… the result is in my hand,” Onew said, VERY DRAMATICALLY. “Do we have both of our contestants on stage?”

He looked around and saw Jonghyun and Taemin right behind him.

Then he continues, “Okay… This decision represent majority of the judges decision. Together with the prize itself-“

“Ehem… I’m a person?” I said, glaring at him.

“Right… Like I was saying, together with the prize herself, agreed with the winner,” he said, looking at me. “This decision had been made with no force or blackmailing or anything like that. If Jonghyun wins, he’ll get Luvly. But if Taemin wins, erm… he won the prize but I don’t think the prize like him…”

“Can you just stop with the bubbling and get on with the result already?” Minho said, heating up.

“Arasamida… Don’t need to mad at me like that,” Onew said.

“I’m not mad, I need to go to toilet and they won’t let me because the result is not out yet,” Minho said, pointing at the guards.

*The guard is there to prevent the girls audience from going wild…

“Okay… okay… Let us just hear them pledge first… We’ll start with Kim Jonghyun first,” Onew said, walking to Jonghyun.

“Nothing… I know Luvly will make a right decision for herself.”

Oh my god…

He TRUSTS me?

I look down, feeling shocked and speechless.

Actually, I feel nothing because I was too shocked.

“Okay… Lee Taemin?” Onew said, turning to Taemin.

“I just want her to know that I love her so much and I know she knows that already, deep inside…” Taemin said.

I look at him and I heard sincerity in his tone.

I am so sorry Taemin…

Please forgive me…

“Okay… I will announce the winner now… The winner for the first ever SHINee rivalry contest is...” Onew look once at me and continues, “KIM JONG HYUN!!!”

After he announces that Jonghyun wins, the blingers are all shouting. The Taemints are all feeling disappointed and leave the hall. Jonghyun hugged and carry me around like a princess. Minho and Key was rushing through the door. Onew and Leena just hugged each other (Weird scenery, I know). I didn’t even notice where the hell is Taemin.

 

 SCHOOL ROOFTOP

*TAEMIN POV

 

I’m a loser…

Luvly hates me…

Maybe Jonghyun hyung is the best for her.

Things happen for a reason.

Maybe this is just a beginning.

Maybe Luvly is just not for me.

Or maybe it is just me who’s not the best for her.

She’s tough girl and she need someone tough like Jonghyun hyung to take care of her.

I’m just not that tough (I AM NOT GOING TO SAY I’M GENTLE) because if I am, she won’t get prank easily.

And she won’t leave me.

I was thinking and to myself, watching the Seoul scenery when a voice from behind says, “Is this sit taken?”

I look up and saw Luvly bowing and smiling at me.

How I love her smile.

“No…” I said.

She sits down right next to me after hearing that and said, “Beautiful… Isn’t it?”

“What?” I said blankly.

“The scenery... I always came up here to fresh up my mind ever since we… um… huh…”

I have no clue of why she was saying this to me.

“Anyway… I’m just trying to say, I’m sorry for all that I’ve done to you and I just hope that even though we’re not together anymore, we still can be friends?” she said, looking at my with those pitiful puppy eyes of hers.

Yeah… I can do that…

Even when we’re not together, we’re still can be friends right?

“Sure…” I said, smiling and doing our secret handshaking (We create that when we’re still a couple).

“Cool….” Luvly said, resting her hair at my left shoulder and we watch the Seoul scenery.

I love this girl so much, I’m willing to do anything for her.

Even if that means we’re only can be together as friends...
