“FINE!”

 

The last word that Minatozaki Sana utters before turning her back to Mina.

 

Mina is right!

 

They did not intend for this to happen.

 

They tried but, yeah it is not working because they are two different people.

 

Maybe it’s really time for them to stop fooling around because it is never going to work out anyway.

 

And somehow, Sana’s pride is more important than Mina.

 

Than Tzuyu.

 

This is the pass that Sana had been wanting all the time since she found out that Mina got pregnant.

 

The pass to live her life the way she wanted to, without any responsibilities and any other baggage.

 

A life of fun and going with the flow.

 

A life without Mina.

 

A life without Tzuyu.

 

Sana had a quick flash of her life without Tzuyu and Mina.

 

She is partying and drinking all night.

 

Even though she is sure she’d be with Lisa all the time.

 

Suddenly, the disco lights disappeared.

 

The loud upbeat music becomes a static sound.

 

And people around her fade.

 

One by one.

 

Until she is left in the dark.

 

Alone.

 

And with that quick flash, Sana does not understand but her tears begin to fall involuntarily.

 

She is crying.

 

Yes, they did not intend anything to happen but the days Sana spent with Mina are the best days of her life.

 

The time she’d see the gummy smile of Mina makes her day.

 

The way Mina would pout and act childlike whenever she is asking Sana to do something for her makes Sana soft.

 

The time she finally had a gasp that Tzuyu is growing inside Mina’s stomach. It made Sana want to live.

 

The time Tzuyu finally kicks. Sana had finally found her reason to live.

 

Yes, everything was accidental!

 

But, having Mina in Sana’s life was beyond conventional.

 

Mina is the right to all the wrongs in Sana’s life.

 

Yes, they are two different people but it’s undeniable how those differences make them closer.

 

Make them appreciate humanity.

 

Make them understand their own existence.

 

Make them value the people around them.

 

Make them whole.

 

Mina is right, they may be fooling around but it’s in a good happy way of fooling around.

 

Because they learn to compromise and sacrifice.

 

Sana knows it’s stupid!

 

It is foolish to argue with a pregnant woman.

 

And for acting up when she’s the one at fault.

 

She needs to step up.

 

Sana loves Mina.

 

Sana loves Tzuyu.

 

And as her flash shows her.

 

A life without them is a dead end.

 

Because right now, they are Sana’s reason.

 

Sana’s own existence.

 

So, rather than walking away. She turns to face Mina again.

 

To beg and apologize.

 

To deliver her side of realization.

 

But when she did.

 

Sana’s heart dropped on the floor.

 

She panics and runs to where Mina is.

 

Shouting and sobbing.

 

 

 

“FINE!”

 

Is the last word that Myoui Mina heard coming from Sana.

 

As soon as Sana turned her back.

 

Mina feels her lower abdomen aching like hell.

 

She feels a sudden contraction.

 

She wants to shout Sana’s name.

 

But the pain makes her feel like dying.

 

It doesn’t stop!

 

Even though nurses and even Irene is tending her.

 

She becomes anxious and nervous.

 

Because she sees red.

 

Overflowing red liquid coming out of her .

 

She is dizzy and dozing off.

 

The pain is too much to handle.

 

But before Mina could fully close her eyes a sight of light appears.

 

She is sure it’s Sana.

 

Somehow, fainting is okay.

 

Because Sana came back.

 

Sana is there.

 

Beside her.

 

Because no matter how much her words speak the truth.

 

The sad truth is that she does not want Sana to leave.

 

She does not want Sana to be out of her life.

 

She wants Sana.

 

For her and for Tzuyu.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

The whaling of the ambulance is the only tone that Sana can remember.

 

Her hands are filled with blood.

 

Her eyes are swollen.

 

And her whole body is trembling.

 

She is sitting in a corner of the hospital while Irene is inside the room tending Mina.

 

Sana never believes in Gods but this very moment makes her pray.

 

Makes her believe in something divine.

 

In something miraculous.

 

And tears are just overflowing from her eyes.

 

How could she be selfish about this situation?

 

How could she be so immature?

 

The truth be told everything that happened in the past build up inside Mina.

 

Because Mina isn’t the one who speaks her mind.

 

Because she wasn’t the one who shows her feelings.

 

And now, all the disappointments and all the repressed emotions overflown.

 

That it affected Tzuyu.

 

And Mina, herself.

 

“This was because she felt that emotional and mentally stressed during the past months, actually, she had been coming for a checkup with me every now and then because of backaches, and contractions, it happened when her parents arrived offering her to go back to Japan, then it stopped when you started working, but it returned and worse than before, I am afraid that we might need to do a preterm labor, I will monitor Mina from time to time, for now,”

 

Irene explains everything to her.

 

And Sana can’t feel anything but guilt.

 

She is blaming herself for something so stupid.

 

She was so focused on impressing Mina by being able to pay for her labor but checking up on Mina did not become a priority anymore.

 

Rather, Sana had become the subject of the center of attention. The recognition that Sana did not get from her parents when she was younger, when she was trying to change is given by Mina.

 

Somehow, Mina knows that she needed it.

 

Yet, Sana did not play her part.

 

The part to be a good partner and a good father to Tzuyu.

 

Now, she is blaming herself.

 

What will happen to them? If in case things fail.

 

Will Mina ever forgive Sana?

 

Will she even forgive herself?

 

Sana can only hug her knees.

 

“What happened?!”

 

Momo comes running to where Sana is.

 

Jeongyeon is holding her because she is so ready to slash Sana’s throat.

 

Since they have received a call from Sana with a broken voice, explaining Mina collapsing. Well, there wasn’t much of explanation that happened.

 

It was just Mina, blood, Tzuyu, and hospital.

 

The words that Sana could speak because she was in so much shock, guilt, and fear.

 

Sana looks at them with a lot of anxiety.

 

Momo had never seen Sana in this vulnerable state.

 

There was a certain window that is open seeing Sana’s pulverized soul.

 

Rather than punching Sana in the face like what she’s been wanting to do. She just clenches her fists.

 

She is about to turn her back but there was someone who passes by her like a flash.

 

“What the , Sana?! That wasn’t cool!”

 

They all look in shock.

 

Nayeon is holding Sana’s collar pinning her to the wall.

 

Sana cannot look at Nayeon directly into her eyes.

 

She called Nayeon, of course.

 

And now, everyone is just there. Except for Lisa and Jisoo who are taking care of Chae-young and Dahyun.

 

Nayeon was on a rage. If it is a normal day, she’ll be on rage because Sana had interrupted their lovemaking. But no, she wasn’t pissed because of that.

 

She was pissed because she grew to love Mina and Tzuyu.

 

She grew to love the concept of a family.

 

But now, the concept fell apart because of Sana’s stupidity.

 

“in’ stupid!” Nayeon threw Sana back on the ground.

 

And before the scene could go worse. Irene came out of the room.

 

There was a tension, but Sana kept mum.

 

“Irene, how’s Mina, How’s Tzuyu?” Momo asks right away.

 

Everyone looks at Irene. Except for Nayeon who is looking at her best friend.

 

Sana feels her heart racing so fast, she wants to be deaf, but she is anticipating what is Irene to say.

 

“Mina is okay, and Tzuyu is fine,” Irene says smiling sadly.

 

Everyone takes a breath of relief.

 

“Can we meet her?” Jeongyeon asks. Of course, she is also worried for her sister in law.

 

“Yeah, she is actually awake,” Irene says with a smile.

 

She looks at Sana, and she takes a deep breath before walking away from the group.

 

Jihyo, Jeongyeon, and Momo hurriedly come in Mina’s room.

 

Nayeon stands in front of the sulking Sana.

 

She is still covered with Mina’s blood and her eyes are still swollen.

 

“Aren’t you going to check on your baby?”

 

Nayeon asks. She is already calm.

 

Sana hugs her knees tighter.

 

Nayeon takes a deep breath, she sits next to Sana.

 

They might stay like that for an hour or two.

 

Nayeon remembers when Sana’s parents were fighting.

 

When they were already hurting themselves because of the differences. It is all the same.

 

Sana is hiding in a corner crying.

 

Wanting everything to stop.

 

Nayeon thinks that it could be worse this time.

 

Sana promised herself that she’ll never be like her father, but she turned out to be like him.

 

So, Sana is nothing but being broken and tormented.

 

 

 

Inside Mina’s Room

“Oh my gosh, Mina, how are you feeling?” Jihyo asks in worry.

 

Mina looks so pale.

 

Like she is very ill or something.

 

With this sight, Momo can only hate Sana even more.

 

Mina forces a smile.

 

“I’m alive, and Tzuyu’s okay, so I’m thankful,”

 

She forces herself to sit up.

 

Momo immediately assists her.

 

“You need to take a rest you know, don’t force yourself, Minari,” Jeongyeon speaks she is caressing Mina’s back.

 

This state of Mina makes her sad.

 

“I’m okay, where is Sana?” Mina asks searching the room.

 

Momo rolls her eyes.

 

“She almost killed you and Tzuyu, really?” She wasn’t able to stop herself.

 

“It wasn’t her fault,” Mina says looking in another direction.

 

“Mina, stop it,” Momo loudens her voice.

 

“Momo, don’t…” Jeongyeon tries stopping her wife.

 

Jihyo just looks guilty. She understands Momo’s feelings and at the same time, she feels guilty on behalf of Sana.

 

“Don’t what? She needs to wake up, Sana almost killed her, she is hurting Mina, physically, emotionally, and mentally!”

 

Momo outbursts.

 

Mina holds on her stomach.

 

She can feel another contraction.

 

It is happening again.

 

Mina’s face shows pain.

 

“Mina are you okay?”

 

Jihyo asks.

 

She can see the pain on Mina’s face.

 

“Now what? Another contraction? I should call mom, now, before I present you and Tzuyu as a corpse!” Momo is mad.

 

She is mad to Sana for doing this to Mina.
