Jennie kicked her boots aside and let herself fall on the couch. She rested one leg on top of the other and fumbled with the remote. “Jennie pack up we’re moving back to Seoul hun,” Her mother said from the kitchen from where Jennie could already sniff the delicious smell of roasted meat. She sighed, rolling her eyes in disbelief.     She walked up to her desk, picked up a few books and lazily dumped them into a carton box that was lying around in her room since ages ago. She noticed a cute Japanese postcard sized diary, that stood out compared to the rest of the books there which were either general knowledge books or course books, of course Jennie wasn’t familiar with the books she had, for reason one; she never really studied that much but managed to get a B in every paper, perhaps the reason why she though she really didn’t need to study; and reason two, she just happened to hated studying in general. It had Rilakkuma stickers on it, she was certainly taken aback by it considering how badass she was now.     She shuffled through her belongings to get a better look of it. She picked it up, blowed the dust off and stared at it for a while, a little puzzled. It was her old diary. “I didn’t know I still had this?”She sat on her bed cross legged and took a closer look, then saw some numbers, more like years written on it. “Hmmm its all the way back from middle school too,” She hummed and began reading it with peculiar interest.     Jennie~      If mom told me that we were moving back to Seoul some years ago I would’ve jumped and hopped around in joy, grabbed my hairbrush and sang till my voice went hoarse. Jong Hyun… huh? What exactly did I like about this Jong Hyun guy? That doesn’t matter though since I’m totally over that douche. Plus I got boys hovering around me for the win. I’m a winner either way.     -she flips through the pages-        Hey? Isn’t this back from sixth grade? Interesting, I want to see how I’ve progressed from a goody two shoes nerd to a hot babe… scratch that, more like a beautiful, Goddess like woman.     -reading-       Dearest diary,                          Hey there! I have a lot to jot down about today! As in literally a lot! Its about this boy from my class, he helped me out today! He even offered his hand to help me up!!! He even grabbed my arm before I fell face first on the ground. I mean it’s not much but… we even made eye contact…     -she pauses and glares at herself at the mirror-       Hold it little Jennie from the sixth grade! Put a full stop right there I say! What? Wait … eye contact? Seriously? Was I that easy back then? Sixth grade Jennie! You’re tarnishing my reputation! Oh My God this boy better be really handsome because I will live my entire life in shame, punishing myself everyday if he was ugly, or is ugly now, heck who cares I’m gonna burn this diary before anyone gets their hands on it… I’m still interested though so maybe after I’m done reading its contents. Let’s continue then… now where was I…. hmmm, alright proceeding.     -continues to read-        He’s so cute. I think I’m in love with him.     -Jennie closes the diary shut and lies there motionless, staring at the ceiling because she clearly hadn’t forgotten him. The memories were still fresh in her mind like it was only yesterday that she returned from school ever so happy that she talked to him for the first time ant that he extended a hand of friendship and all her dreams came crashing down in flames, all that was left of it was ash when she was told that they had to move away from Seoul the next day because her father had been transferred to another state. Of course it was hard. It was her first love too. She had to tell herself not to cry and be strong about it, it was harder than she thought. Returning home to see stacks of carton boxes was already alarming for her, having to move away gave her a mini heart attack. If she went back now all her hard work would go to waste. All the efforts she made, all the walls she built around herself, she’d have to watch it crumble before her very eyes as all those glorious years
