Chapter 4
Too Late To Run!July 1st 10 AM
She ran through the stairs as fast as she could be, Pushing the door open. She was panting to take in some air she had forgotten to inhale for the past few seconds. She then walked to the place he used to sit on, staring at the blue blanket for a few seconds. She then looked around hope still glowing in the back of her eyelids, still waiting for him to come out of nowhere and turn that hope into reality.
“It’s not happening, He was right here but he’s not, he’s not here or anywhere anymore” She whispered tucking her hair back from his face frustrated as if she was trying to prove an argument. But she knew her evidence is not good enough. She realized it since he wasn’t there every time since a while ago now.
She then slowly dropped down sitting where he used to sit. Or at least where she remembers he would sit and she would sit right beside him.
“Its cant be … It can’t be that it was all in my mind. He was right here and I talked to him” A tear then dropped down her face as memories were flying back to her.
#Flashback
- “A large cappuccino for prince Jin. Enjoy!” She smiled at him brightly
- I’m not in mood byul
-Exactly, that’s what I can see.
-What?
-Well I kind of have this weird ability that I can just look at your ugly face and tell you havent had your coffee so I got you one. Stop being so grumpy.
-Stop it, I’m seriously not in the mood of joking.
-Alright chill, just tell me what’s wrong!
-It’s not that easy. If I could just say what’s wrong nothing would be this wrong.
She looked at him thinking for a few minutes and said:
-Ummm lets do this game! We try to put whatever is happening in our mind in one word that best describes it except no judgement ok?
-Alright whatever
-I start … Hot guy in cafe
-What? That’s so shallow byul plus that’s 4 words. Its almost a sentence
-Shut up, I said no judgment. It’s your turn.
-Shallow
-Judgmental
- family
-umm … Mysterious
-Secret
- Curious
- Strangers. What the heck are we doing again?
-They call it brainstorm in literature, I call it a catalyst.” She then took a paper off her bag and wrote all the words they said all in one page randomly spread.
-Catalyst? What does it exactly facilitate?
-For emotionally dumb people like us it facilitates translion of our feelings to words.
She then highlighted Jin’s words in blue and her words in pink and said:
-Shallow, Family, Secret, Stranger for you and Judgemental, Mysterious, Curious for me. That is our top most occurring thoughts right now. Which one should we talk about?
-You realize that you are extremely weird, right?
-Judgemental it is then … let’s start!” She said rolling her eyes
-Let’s do this.” He pointed at the blue word looking more serious than ever. She looked at the word and whispered “Stranger??
-Ok then, why do you think you’re thinking of this word or thoughts associated with this?
-It’s just that … recently I feel like a stranger to people who once I was extremely close with. As if we are no longer the same people. More like I stayed the same but they all kind of changed.
-What if you changed but you haven’t noticed yourself.
-No, I haven’t, but I feel pressured and obligated to change though.
-Why don’t you change then?
-I don’t want to lose myself only because I’m obligated to change
-Well don’t
-But it’s kind of lonely when you’re the only one that doesn’t change staying in the same place while everyone leave.
She looked at him trying to say something but then a thought splashed through her thoughts “Why do I envy him for feeling lonely” but she was caught by him
-No judgement
-I … I wasn’t judging you
-Then what exactly where you silently thinking by yourself?
-It’s just that … “She paused gulping nervously and quietly said “I never feel lonely. So, I’m not sure how it ever feels.
-What?
-I mean … at the end of the day it’s just us
