Tiffany’s POV

Ahhh~ I’m so glad school’s almost over! Tomorrow is the weekend but what should I do? Anyways, this week felt super long for some reason…Also, Taeyeon has been in crutches this whole time…He must’ve had a lot of trouble moving around. Every time I see him struggle, I can’t help but cringe at the sight. I even try to help him at times but Jessica always beats me to it. Which reminds me, Jessica gives me this hostile look nowadays…“You know Taeyeon and I aren’t really cousins right?”

So if they’re not cousins, then what are they? Are they possibly…? No! Taeyeon said they are cousins! But was he lying? What are they hiding…?

Jessica’s questions still linger in my mind! “Do you like Taeyeon?”

There I go again! This whole week I’ve been clumsy and distracted because of these annoying thoughts! No matter how hard I tried to disregard these thoughts, it somehow keeps coming back to haunt me! I grabbed my head and started ruffling my hair in irritation. I sighed deeply out loud, enough for Taeyeon to hear me. He turned his attention toward me and looked at me worriedly. Shouldn’t I be giving him that look? I mean, I still bear this guilt over his injury a few days ago…

“What’s wrong, Tiffany? Looks like you have something on your mind? Care to tell me?” He sincerely asked me.

“…Uhm, it’s nothing…” I lied.

“Yeah right, stop lying. Heh, you know it’s better to let it out than keep it to yourself. Then again, I shouldn’t pry too much into your business. Either way I’ll respect your decision.” He informed me and smiled his dorky grin at me causing me to blush again. I felt my heart beat faster again. “Do you like Taeyeon?” The thought suddenly entered my head again and I shook my head fast trying to forget that question. Gah, Jessica why would you ask me something like that? Thanks to her I get so awkward with Taeyeon again…

“Hmm…Hey, tomorrow you’re coming over again aren’t you? You know, to finish the project?” He suddenly said which interrupted my thoughts. I finally realized what he said and I blankly stared at him. He chuckled silently and I blinked a few times to get myself back on track.

“…Huh? Oh yeah! I almost forgot!” I pouted and stuck my tongue out at my mistake causing him to smile at me again. Well, now I know what I’m going to do tomorrow.

“Haha, that was cute.” He commented at my pout causing heat to rush up to my face.

“Anyways, since we’re almost done with our project why don’t we have a group date with you and your friends the following day?” He asked which sparked some interest in me. I gleamed at the idea of hanging out with my friends and Taeyeon and Jessica. It’ll be our first time hanging out with them as a whole group too!

“Ah…that sounds like a really good idea!” I beamed at him causing him to smile, showing his perfect white teeth. Just thinking about the fun we all would have sounds like a new experience for me.

“Yeah! Haha! How about we go to the movies and karaoke or something? Sound good?” He asked.

“Sure, that sounds great~ I’ll be sure to inform my friends, okay?” I said with happiness.

“Great…” He said and came closer to me. Suddenly his face was right next to mine. I felt his hot breath against my ear as it sent shivers down my spine. Déjà vu.

“I can’t wait Miyoung…” He slyly whispered in my ear which caused me to blush like crazy! He said it in English too! He leaned back and smiled like an idiot at me. Then he turned his attention towards the front of the room, pretending nothing has happened. I sat there with my mouth agape and my eyes widened. I was speechless yet again because of him. He never ceases to surprise me…

I suddenly felt someone tug my shirt causing me to fall back a little and turn my attention towards the person…no other than Sunny. She grinned widely at me and shrieked at me, but only loud enough for the both of us to hear.

“Kya~! Fany-ah! I saw what happened between you and Taeyeon! What did he say?” She was very curious to know and was jumping in her seat. She looked like a little kid who was waiting for her candy.

“N-Nothing! He was just uhm…wondering if you and the others would like to hang out this weekend…?” I said a little fast, I was still shocked at what Taeyeon said to me. My face was still obviously flushed and Sunny knows that I am not telling her everything.

“Hah! Your face is still red! Just tell me the details later…Hang out with everyone? Alright, that sounds like fun! What are we gonna do?” She said in an ecstatic tone.

“I’ll tell you the details later okay? We’ll plan everything after school. Anyways we get out in about 5 minutes so just wait.” I informed her of the time. She nodded her head in agreement and turned her attention to the teacher’s closing lesson. I, as well, listened to the teacher. It wasn’t that important though, he told us what assignments we had to do, but I already finished them last week, so no worries for me~ I basically finished everything, so I’m set. The benefits of studying every day. Not to brag or anything of course. But I feel like relaxing this weekend and looking forward to this new experience to hang out with all of my friends. I can just imagine all the fun we would have~

The bell rang and everyone was getting ready for the upcoming weekend. I packed all my stuff and stood from my chair. I glanced behind me and I see Taeyeon trying to wake Jessica up. She’s always sleeping…how does she do well in school?

Taeyeon successfully woke Jessica up and she looked up groggily. She yawned and he laughed at her. She put her things away and Taeyeon was waiting for her. I can’t help but think that they’re dating…For some reason I really don’t like that vision in my head. “You know Taeyeon and I aren’t really cousins right?” The thought suddenly entered my head. I mentally slapped myself. I have to stop thinking of that! It’s not like I care…

I didn’t realize that I’ve been staring at the ‘couple’ in front of me; actually, I didn’t even realize that they were in front of me until Taeyeon yelled my name.

“Fany-ah!”

I gasped in surprise which caused him to laugh at me. I need to stop thinking about these useless topics. Every time I do something without thinking, I end up embarrassing myself…My face becomes super hot every time it happens and Taeyeon always laughs at me. Aigoo…

“Hahaha! Your face! It was really cute!” He said through his laughs. My face grew even hotter.

I saw Jessica hit Taeyeon’s arm lightly causing him to direct his eyes at her. She looked up at him and smiled caringly at him. Taeyeon smiled back widely and said, “Hey Sica, you know Tiffany and I are planning a group date to the movies. You have to come!” He said in a childish, playful tone.

I looked at Jessica but avoided making eye contact. I was just waiting for her response. She seemed to ponder about this event. She put her hand under her chin contemplating whether she wants to come or not. I was too nervous to make eye contact with Jessica. Every time I happen to look t her, those questions start to replay in my head. This whole week I’ve been trying to endure it and ignore my thoughts.

“Sure…I guess I’ll have to come, since you’re going.” She said and her expression became calmer.

“That’s great! Well, let’s meet with Tiffany’s friends so we can talk to them about it!” Taeyeon exclaimed and grabbed mine’s and Jessica’s arms. I was on his right side and Jessica was on his left, he was dragging us towards Sunny and the group. I looked down at the contact between Taeyeon and I, the warmth that I haven’t had in a while came back. I felt really at ease and comfortable with the found warmth that I have missed this past week. I smiled to myself not knowing that Jessica was looking at me. I felt her cold stare on my side but I didn’t want to turn my head…I’d feel really awkward…

Sunny and Sooyoung greeted us in unison, “Hey yo!” It was cute how they said it together; I smiled at them and greeted them.

“Hey everyone! So are you all free Sunday? Tiffany and I are planning to have a group date haha!” Taeyeon announced. Sooyoung and Yoona were pumped, they always enjoy parties.

“Is there gonna be food?” Sooyoung yelled out, Sunny hit his arm and he sat back down in his seat. He rubbed the back of his head and let out a nervous laugh.

“I second that, will there be food?” Yoona added on and looked at Seohyun who just smiled dearly at him.

“Of course, there’ll be food! We’re gonna go to the movies and some karaoke! How’s that sound?” Taeyeon yelled.

“We don’t have practice this weekend so count me, Sooyoung, and Yuri in!” Yoona said loudly. He turned towards Sooyoung and Yuri and they both nodded in unison. Yoona then looked at his girlfriend and waited for her reply. “Of course I’ll go Yoong.” Seohyun sincerely smiled at him and he smiled goofily at her. They’re a really innocent couple, it’s a really rare but cute sight.

“Yay! What movie are we going to watch?” Sunny exclaimed.

“That’s a surprise haha. Don’t worry, tickets are on me.” Taeyeon smiled and gave us a thumb ups.

“Wow, aren’t you generous.” Jessica bluntly said out of nowhere. Taeyeon rubbed the back of his neck and chuckled. “Well, I want to. It’s my treat so don’t worry!” He said and put his arm around Jessica’s shoulder. Her expression remained calm but she made a small smile enough for us to see.

I felt a little disturbed with this view. I felt my heart tighten at this. Ever since Jessica told me that they weren’t cousins, I started to feel this tight pain in my chest. I felt uneasy every time I see them together…I didn’t like this feeling at all…

I looked away from this awkward sight and turned towards Yuri who also had a look of distaste looking at the skinship between these two. He then put his head down pretending to tie his shoe. He must be feeling a little suspicious of Taeyeon and Jessica’s relationship, even though everyone thinks that they’re cousins except me. I should probably talk to Sunny about this…I want to see her view on this issue. Maybe she finds them suspicious too…

I looked at Sunny to see her reaction to TaeSica’s closeness but she was too busy with Sooyoung and Yoona. I sighed. I thought she would be able to see what was going on. Maybe I’ll talk to Yuri instead. He seems to be feeling the same way I’m feeling…

I walked up to Yuri and sat next to him. He looked up and made a small smile to me. His dark circles were starting to disappear. Means he’s getting enough sleep I’m guessing? We’ve been friends for many years now, he’s more like a brother to me and I can’t see him as anything else. Being so close to him, of course I’d be concerned over his health.

“Yuri-ah, your dark circles are disappearing. You’re finally catching up on your sleep. I’m glad.” I gave him a comforting smile and he smiled back.

“Yeah…but I still have dreams about…you know…” He said shyly and lowered his head. I got the gist of what he’s saying and I couldn’t help but giggle at his cuteness.

“Haha, still? You’re really falling deep huh?” I and he responded by nodding his head.

“Yeah…it’s crazy! I wish I could talk to her you know?” He started ruffling his hair with his hands.

“Why don’t you?” I questioned him.

“I’m…too shy…” Expected answer.

“The Yuri is shy? Wow…that’s surprising.” I giggled and again.

“Yah…I know it’s weird.” He sighed. “But it’s something new for me.”

I looked at him and studied his face. He really changed. He got much more handsome than back then and his face matured a whole lot. It gives off the face of a leader. Yuri and Taeyeon’s face both have that leader-like ambience. I really admire that…I’m more like a follower rather than a leader.

“You seem to have changed as well, Fany-ah.” Yuri suddenly said.

I looked at him confusingly. “What do you mean?”

“You used to be so quiet and shy, but now you’re more…alive? I don’t know, it’s like you seem more at ease and relaxed. Sunny notices that too you know?” He said.

“Is that so…?”

“Yeah…haven’t you noticed it too? You seem more outgoing now. You used to always study day and night, always disregarding us. It saddens me a little. Haha…” He chuckled.

“Oh really? I’m sorry! But you know how I am! I’ve been studying nonstop, now that I’m finished with all my studies all I have to do is just take the tests. I go the easy life Yuri-ah.” I retaliated and said it seriously to him.

“I know. I understand haha. No need for seriousness here Fany-ah. At least you’re ready for anything; you practically know everything except one important thing.” He said and looked at me.

“What do you mean?” I was confused by his words.

He sighed a little. “You’ll experience it soon enough.” He softly said and grinned at me.

“Wait, what do you mean?” I was really confused now. What was he talking about?

He suddenly looked dark and serious; he looked at me and asked me a surprising question. “What do you think of Taeyeon, Fany-ah?” My eyes widened.

“Excuse the sudden question; I just wanted to see your reaction.” He sounded a little guilty.

“Well…what do you mean by what do I think of him?” I asked him.

Yuri rolled his eyes and replied, “Nevermind. Ignore what I just said…”

“Wait, I want to know what you mean!” I retorted and he just covered his ears with his hands and pretended not to hear me. He was acting like a little kid!

“Yah yah yah yah~” He continuously sang his little tune to drain out my voice. I got irritated at his childish act and stood up from my chair. I grabbed both of his hands and got him to stand up with me, he was immensely stronger than I was but I was trying to pry his hands away from his head. We were having a little conflict and I hadn’t realized that I tripped over his foot and we both lost our balance. I started to fall forward and closed my eyes, expecting a painful encounter with the floor. I waited for a few seconds, but I didn’t feel anything. Instead I felt something warm against the length of my body. I slowly opened my eyes and saw Taeyeon in front of me, holding me in a tight embrace. My heart started to beat even faster than before and my face got even more heated. How did he catch me? Then where’s Yuri?

I tilted my head to the other side of Taeyeon and Yuri was against Taeyeon’s arm. So he caught both of us? How was that possible?

“Woah, that was close! You guys shouldn’t mess around like that! Haha! It would’ve ended badly!” He said with a worried yet sarcastic tone. For some reason he didn’t seem too happy.

He let go of Yuri and I and smiled at us. This smile seems different…it looks fake, unreal. Not like his usual dorky smiles. I was taken aback by his sudden change in expression. I looked over to Yuri who was looking down. I turned back to Taeyeon and he walked away without saying a word. It seems we caught the attention of Sunny and the others as they looked at our way.

“Are you okay, Fany-ah?” Sunny yelled.

“…Yeah, um…I’m fine. What about you Yuri?”

“Yeah, that was close. That would’ve hurt haha…” He let out a nervous laugh.

“Aigoo…what are we going to do with you?” Sunny said while shaking her head.

Sooyoung and Yoona were laughing at the back, they were looking at Yuri and his face turned red. Sunny turned around and caught them red handed. She started to scold them, Sooyoung mostly, and Seohyun was rubbing Yoona’s back. It looked like a mother taking care of three children, it was really amusing.

I looked toward Taeyeon’s direction and he was conversing with Jessica. His expression seems to have come back. It really confuses me…What was that back then? It looked like a different Taeyeon. I started to worry over these thoughts that clouded my head.

I shook my head free of these deep thoughts and observed Taeyeon and Jessica. They were laughing and smiling together…They looked really happy…I felt my insides twist. I always felt this whenever Jessica is too friendly with Taeyeon…but I shouldn’t. Why though? They’ve been together for many years now, and I’ve only known Taeyeon for about what? A month? That seems about right. I shouldn’t care…but just seeing them together makes me a little disturbed.

“You know Taeyeon and I aren’t really cousins right?”

Then that means…Taeyeon lied to me about it…?

Then what are you guys?

A/N: Hey guys again! So it's finals week this week and I totally forgot haha. I did pretty good on my finals today in my opinion. :) 

Anyways this was a short update! A little less than 3,000 words but still an update right? I might as well put it up as it is so I can leaving you hanging at the end again. :P I think this was a pretty boring chapter in my opinion but please bear with it. It's better to know what's happening so you can understand it later right? :D

Not much to say today! JUST SUPER HAPPY/PUMPED/EXCITED/EVERYTHING about Taeyeon and Seohyun being the new PERMANENT MCs for Music Core!! Finally!! More TaeNy action with their Seobaby! Many TaeNy fans/ Locksmiths are dying like me!! I bet more stories will be up too~ Haha!
