The Dream

Operation T.R.E.E. 2: The Cult

He was falling. From a high point which he had no clue as to where it began and he had no clue where it would end. Everything was pitch black, darker than th enightest night, the most ebony hair, the deepest eyes or the most polluted river. There were no lights, sparks of orange served as the guide to the path down to the underworld. Orange sparks which looked like the balls of fired that rained upon the Apostles on Pentecost Day. Well, it would be nice if that was the case but this, this was some work of the Devil! The orange flames illuminated, burning brighter than a bonfire and hotter than a conflagration, turning the cold, dark dimension of blackness' temperature up. The man, moving his limbs in a fashion as though he wanted to escape or get away from whatever or whoever put him through this, appeared as if he was swimming backwards in air. Only  this time, he wasn't going anywhere but down.

"I HAVE NOW FOUND MY WORTH PAWN!" came a deep and sinister voice that oozed with wickedness and cruelty. The voice came from no particular direction and echoed all over the space. The man rolled around on air, trying to twist his body in order to look for the owner of this demonic voice.

"Who are you?!" the man asked, still swimming on air. "Why won't you show yourself?! Come on!" the gravitational pull became even greater, blowing the man's auburn colored hair upwards, away from his face. All the voice could do was cackle angrily and mockingly at the man's pitiful situation.

"I.." the voice began, calmly at first. "AM SATAN!" the boom sent an invisible tsunami of air into the man, blowing him over to the other side, slamming him against a black wall. Fear was written all over the man's body (body, not face) upon hearing this. Satan? THE Satan? How in hell's name did Satan ever get to him? He never summoned or at least he didn't remember calling upon Satan. What was he doing here in Satan's lair?

"How did I get here?" asked the man. He looked around but felt blind. All he could see was black and sparks of orange. The man panicked, started to feel fear. The blood in his entire body began to drain and his skin went from fair to pale. The temperature that once was hot because of the sparks of fire weren't enough to cool him down as goosebumps started to form and crawl all over his body, starting with his arms. The wind tsunami that blew his small frame away was reduced to gentle and caml blows.

"I chose you." spoke the demon. "I have seen how much you struggled on Earth."

"Seen? What? You mean you've been watching me?!" asked the man, shocked.

"Of course!" came a bellow. "How do you think I chose you if I didn't observe what you were going through!?!"

"But why me?"

"I have seen your troubles. I've seen how you hurt people and how people hurt you back." The man looked down, stared at his right hand which he brought up to waist level. His hand had traces and evidences of struggle, suggesting that he could've cut himself of tried to choke himself or hang himself. The Devil, as the man sensed, looked at him with piercing black and red eyes, studying the pain and torture that was evident in the way the man carried himself. The man wasn't much of a handsome person neither was he appeasing. He was typical. The average guy you'd see walking down the street, buying newspaper, going to work, drinking coffee, ing in the dark. That's who he was. Average Joe. Nothing special. Earlobe length hair dyed the color of peaches and apricots covered his head with bangs extending right up to his eyelids, nearly masking them. His small white face had small white features making him androgynous, meaning he could pass as either a man or a woman with his minute features. His body, just as small. He wasn't the muscular, atheltic type neither was his built fat, the type that you would immediately judge as one who spends time in front of the TV watching crappy reality shows or soap operas while munching on an extra large bag of Cheetos with a side of Dr. Pepper, sleeping on the show he was just watching. No. He wasn't that guy. This man was lanky, weak looking. You could actually see the ribs poking out of his chest. He didn't lack nutrition neither was he starving. In fact, he had money to buy himself whatever he wanted in life, handed down to him by his father who died of cancer. He wasn't on a diet, he was just born that way.

"What do you know about my troubles? Have you brought me here because you will take them away?!" asked the man.

"No."

"Then why'd you bring me here for?"

"I have come to tell you that you aren't alone in this world. You aren't the only one suffering-"

"Yeah, yeah, yeah!" mocked the man. "I've heard that bull before, alright! There's so many people in the world blah blah blah-" the sound of thunder and a flash of lightning abruptly came about, startling the man and making him duck for cover.

"SILENCE! DO NOT INTERRUPT ME WHEN I AM SPEAKING!" the devil angrily screamed at the man. He moved a few steps backward and stared at the dark space that enveloped him, spinning around in circles upon realizing once again that he was in nowhere. The devil loved to cackle at his stupidity but remembered that he brought this man here for a reason.

"I'm sorry. I'm sorry." sobbed the man. He got down on his knees and sat down, waiting for the demon to say something, this time more eagerly and patiently.

"Now listen carefully my child because this dream will only occur once. I will not repeat myself." the demon instructed. The man sat up straight and paid very close attention. The wind inside became humid as the flaming orange balls glowed and burned brighter and hotter.

"I have chosen you amongst the many who have turned to the dark side in times of despair. I know that you have had your tumultous times, you've thought of killing yourself or others just to ease the pain. You have blamed God for all your misfortunes and have wished for bad things to happen to your neighbor." the man felt goosebumps once more, as well as the thumping of his heartbeat like a drum, heavier even. The man backed up, sweat dripping down from his apricot-bangs covered forehead. He tried to escape, but this had no way out.

"What do you want from me? Please, tell me!" the man begged, terrified out of his wits. He could feel Satan's eyes preying on him, looking at him from head to toe as if it was a lion stalking his prey, getting ready to devour it.

"You are a sinner in every way. You don't even have to sin to be called a sinner or for everyone to know that you're a sinner. Every move you make is a sin in its own right. You are a sinner. A troubled sinner." The man was confused with this prophecy. "And I believe," the demon continued. "that all the anger you have in your heart can be taken out on the world that has turned its back on you."

"What are-"

"Listen carefully, son. You have every quality of a leader that I'm looking for." The man felt Satan's eyes moving upon him once again, this time carefully inspecting him like a sketch artist looking at a model for inspiration. "Troubled, angry, charismatic, young. "

"Looking for? Will you please just get to the bottomline and tell me what this is about?!" the man pleaded, not wanting to feel confused anymore.

"I have a plan. " said the sinister voice. The man promised this time to pay closer attentiona nd stop butting in. "My plan is to have a charismatic leader who would rise like a phoenix from the ashes. This leader will pose as an idol or an icon that people will follow, leading them into the trap of evil, deceit, and mind control. This leader will command his minions to do my bidding which is to reverse the world's creation." the devil explained. The man slowly got on his feet and scratched his head, feeling the cold, dried sweat on his back, passing through his skin and into his organs. This gave him a chill and right now, as the devil was describing his plan for the world, the man felt inimidated to ask.

"Reverse?" was all he could manage.

"YES!" the devil said mightily, the sound of thunder accompanying his booming loud voice. "Reverse creation as I would call it. You know very well how the world was created and moulded into this huge gunk that we abuse over and over but stupidly continues to give and give! Well, reverse creation shall lead to the destruction of the world and the rebirth of a new kingdom."

The orange lights suddenly went out, leaving the man in total darkness. The man crawled and felt the ground and the walls, trying to see if there was an exit or if there was anything there that could help him. He was totally lost. From behind him came a bright, glowing red light that burnt his back.

"ARGH!" cried the young man as he hurriedly crawled far away from whatever burnt his back out of fear that it would burn him once again. But a greater horror greeted him when he turned to the direction of the heat. A pair of glowing, red eyes! Staring right at him angrily like it was ready to eat him! The man curled himself into a pitiful little ball of fear.

"And you my son, are going to be their leader."

"But..."

"NOTHING!" bellowed the demon. "You are to accept your fate as the leader or I will swallow you up alive and burn your soul in hell!" cackled the demon. This made the man shiver in fear and almost cry.

[END OF DREAM]

Leeteuk rose from his bed, all covered in sweat, shaking and out of breath. He ran a hand through his bleach blonde hair and shook his head once again, slapping his right cheek even just to make sure that he wasn't dreaming and he was already awake.

"3:00 am." he said as he turned to the alarm clock next to him. Hopping out of bed to get himself a glass of water, he knocked a couple of clothes down and cursed out loud.

" IT!" he said as he bent down to pick the clothes and hang them back on the door but as he fell to the floor, he found himself unable to get up once more. Leeteuk was lost in thought at the moment because of the dream he just had.

"Am I really going to do what he said? Me? Leader of what?" Leeteuk thought as he clasped his hands together and rested his head on the door. Leeteuk was already troubled and he was wondering if he was going to let this trouble him even more.

"This prophecy or your life?"
