I didn’t need to know what a basilisk was, nor did I want to after the mighty creature stepped into view.

It was nothing like I had seen before. Spikes bigger than me ran down its scaly silver back all the way to the tip of its muscular tail. Claws appeared on each of its eight legs, sharp and ready to attack. Its bright red eyes glowed with anger, suppressing the urge to crush everything in his path. With every step the basilisk took, the ground shook beneath me. Chills went down my spine.

I was sure Jungkook could feel my heart thumping madly, with my chest pressed against his arm. Though he did make me feel more at ease, it was nothing compared to the terror I felt at that moment.

“J-Jungkook,” I tried to speak, but my voice only came out as a quiver.

“Don’t worry.” He assured, though he sounded uncertain himself. “It’ll go away on its own if it doesn’t see us.”

I sure hoped so.

“Here.” He took out a few freshly picked flowers from his pocket. They were a bit crumpled and shriveled up, but other than that, they looked good as new. “I picked them at the lake. Smelling its scent will re-energize you.”

He put the flowers in front of my nose.

I was allergic to flowers.

I started to sneeze uncontrollably, and Jungkook flinched at the sudden outburst. Quickly realizing why I was sneezing,  he threw the flowers far away and tried to help me, a look of concern crossing over his face.

“Are you okay?”

“Yeah, it was just allergies. I’m fine.” I sniffed, my eyes still slightly watery.

“Good. Because the basilisk heard you, and he is not going to let us out of this easily.”

My breath hitched in my throat and dread washed over me. I peeked onto the trail and I could see that Jungkook was right - The creature was heading right for us. Judging by the way it flared its teeth, it was hungry.

“What do we do?” I asked, horrified.

Jungkook narrowed his eyes. “You stay here. I’m going to go and fight that thing. But whatever you do, don’t move. I don’t want to sound harsh, but you don’t have a chance with the basilisk. It’s much more powerful than you are.”

He was right, like always. I didn’t want to let Jungkook go out there and risk his life, but what else could I do?

“You need to promise me, young lady.”

“I h

Chapter 18: The end got me thinking, what if jungkook is jimin and jimin is jungkook? What if jungkook is the real prince? And what if jimin is not the king son? But the son his mother have with another man? This got me confused

Chapter 18: Could it be that jungkook is the one she meet and not jimin?
I would like to know the story from jungkook perspective too, just one chapter would be great. But I hope nothing from this story would change because of it.

Chapter 18: Well if she chose to end up with the prince, and is not regretting in any way, then it is best to go with it until the end. Haha. I'm speaking practically here. They already bore children anyway. By this time, it is okay to wonder but as a good wife and mother, she should not regret the what could have been'. Although I won't deny I kind of expected them to stay in Aquadore and work together to rebuild what had once been a destroyed kingdom. Perhaps Jimin could have passed on the throne to Jungkook since they chose to live on Earth. That ending, at least for me, would give justice to their journey and sacrifices. You're still the author and I respect your chosen ending. I'm not disappointed, neither implying my idea was better. It was merely my two cents on it. Besides, this is fiction so there is not a single right direction and anything can be twisted the way the author wished to. Their family was cute :) and well, the twist was a major facepalm to Yujin. Btw, in the previous chapter, Jimin said her name was Brooke?

Chapter 17: Wow. Very harry potter-ish. Haha. Thank you for the update! :) aigoo, im having second lead syndrome.

Chapter 16: I'm scared for jungkook tho. Sure, the prince will find a way to help her somehow. I still can't get my head around his demeanor toward yujin. I'm as confused as her. If he knows she's his fated bride, why does he seem sad still? I mean, he expects she may forget after all those years so he should make an effort to help her remember. I feel like yujin remembering prince jimin has something to do with unlocking his powers, maybe bringing back the king's sanity. Anyway, that's just me being silly. But I love your story. My radar's pointing to an alternate ending but I'm looking forward to what will happen. :)
