The monsters appeared much less frequently now, and I’ve only encountered two other ones - Another basilisk, and something called a gorgon, whose bright yellow eyes could turn you into stone. Thankfully, I’ve only grown stronger, and I could summon my power nearly effortlessly now. On the occasion, Jungkook would throw something at me and tell me to make the object stop in midair to improve my reaction time. He started off with small things, like his blazer, but after a while of practicing (and being hit in the face), I was able to make a large stone switch direction and whack Jungkook, who fortunately recovered quickly.
Jungkook, on the other hand, barely used his power anymore and would only showcase his archery skills to hit a wild animal for dinner. When I asked him why, he responded with, “We should focus on perfecting your power before talking about mine.”
The next couple hours were the same routine. Walk for around two hours, have a fifteen minute break, repeat. It was exhausting, but there was no other way to get to Prince Jimin. And even though Jungkook kept composed for our sake, he couldn’t hide his weary eyes that grew more fatigued with every second.
“Look,” He suddenly said and pointed ahead of us, just as we rounded our second hour.
I squinted, trying to follow his finger. I gasped. The mountains were very near now, and I could make out its purplish-grey color and rough ridges. A few steps away was an intersection in the trail, which split into three. I grew excited, thinking we were near our destination.
Jungkook and I both picked up our speed, the corners of my mouth already starting to rise. Suddenly, I heard a thump followed by a groan, and when I looked to my left I saw Namjoon laying on the ground, clutching his arm. His white hair was all over the place, and his dark clothes were stained. I gasped when I saw blood dripping out of his arm, and immediately rushed over to h
