In moments, we were up and soaring through the grey skies, with the wind blowing against my face a hundred miles per hour. The driver had warned us about unicorns being fast, and he wasn’t kidding.
It wasn’t exactly the safest method of transportation, since there was nothing to hold onto, but our driver assured us it was secure and no one had fallen off before. Still, his words didn’t keep me from grabbing onto the hem of his blue sweater for dear life.
The man clearly had a lot of experience riding unicorns, because he was relaxed throughout the entire trip. At one point, he even turned around to chat with us and let the unicorn fly on its own, scaring both Jungkook and I out of our minds. He introduced himself as Yoongi, and apologized for being rude earlier. It wasn’t surprising when he started acting nice to us all of a sudden.
When we finally landed after a surprisingly smooth flight, I got off and all my stress started flooding back. It was an uncomfortable feeling, but I shook it off. Jungkook went off after I did, and he too shuddered as everything returned to normal.
“Thank you for taking us here.” I bowed to Yoongi, who gave me a small smile.
“No problem.” He replied. “You should really be going, though. It doesn’t take long to end someone’s life.”
I nodded. “Okay.” Then, I turned to Jungkook. “Let’s go.”
Yoongi hopped back onto the unicorn and gave us one last wave, before he gave the unicorn one small kick on the side and they flew away.
Jungkook nudged my side hard. “Look,”
I turned to see what he was referring to. My eyes widened, and I rubbed my eyes, afraid I was still dreaming. In front of me was a large blue castle, with towers that shot up to the sky and a wide wooden door. There was a wide moat with an already opened drawbridge, telling me there had been intruders to the castle. I walked over to the moat and peered into it, the familiar clarity of it startling me. It was like a whole new person was staring back at me, her hair oily and bruises all over her red skin. I turned away.
“Come on.” Jungkook grabbed my arm gently, dragging me with him. We crossed the drawbridge carefully and entered the huge structure, my heartbeat pulsing.
It was dead silent, opposite to what I was expecting. There was a black and white checkered floor with big fancy chandeliers, with gold pillars against the sides. Statues of greek gods were kept safe in glass displays, and blue chairs were placed in a triangle formation off to the right. Sunlight poured in through long round windows, enlightening the whole room. The only sound that could be heard was the steady rhythm of a metronome that ticked on top of a black grand piano. I was completely speechless once again.
The wooden doors on the other side of the room were slightly opened, giving me a glimpse of what seemed to be a very purple room.
Just like the one in my dream.
“Jungkook, that’s the room I saw in my dream.” I whispered, afraid of disrupting the eerie silence.
At that, Jungkook ran towards the door and shoved it open wide, the extremely bright purple color blinding my eyes. I squinted and walked towards the room, the copper scent of blood growing stronger each time.
When my eyes finally adjusted to its vibrance, I nearly screamed at the sight. I covered my mouth with one hand, and used my other to hold onto Jungkook so I didn’t pass out. For once, Jungkook was equally as surprised as I was, his face draining it’s rosy color immediately.
The view was sickening. Blood was splattered around the entire room - On the floors, the walls, the ceiling - confirming the origin of the nasty smell that came from it. There were exactly four unmoving bodies on the ground, two of which were Namjoon and Hoseok, who were stiff and numb on the ground. Swords, bows, arrows, and other miscellaneous weapons lay used by their side. I felt my stomach churn and tears well up to my eyes.
“We’re too late,” I said ever so softly, afraid if I spoke too much I would immediately burst into tears again. Jungkook patted my shoulder comfortingly, trying to hold it together like me.
“It’s okay.” He said, looking at me with his big, uniquely-colored eyes. “I know this is a lot for you, and it even is for me, but you can keep it together. I know you can
