INFORMATION

Hi guys! Sorry for the late update again. I was on vacation for most of the month and I've been dealing with a lot of stuff lately, so I didn't have a chance to sit down and write this until now. So I guess if I don't update this contest thread on the 15th, then you can expect an update on the 20th, haha. Anyway, there's quite a bit to say in this update, so let's get started!
 
The War has officially dropped (more than a month ago oops) and the tracklist has been added to the song list! And can I say, WOW, this is definitely AOTY material. Every song is so good and I never skip a single track when I'm listening to it (which is rare for me for a full album). My favorite song from The War is Going Crazy with Forever coming in at a close second. I bolded Touch It, The Eve, and What U Do? as well and I briefly bolded Walk on Memories before unbolding it in the end, because if there are any songs on the repackaged album that catch my attention, that's the song I'd probably push down for the new one(s). But we'll wait for that when it comes. So yeah, if any of the songs from The War are inspiring you, go ahead and use them! (also v proud of the boys and the fandom for making exo quad mil sellers! w/o the repack as well!)
 
In terms of prizes, I've added a D.O fan, a D.O stand, a Kai fan, and a Kai stand from Nature Republic! I have yet to add Sehun, since he's currently out of stock, haha, but I'll make sure to add him once he's available again! I'll probably stop at forty prizes, for now at least, since I'm actually really broke right now. I know it doesn't seem like it (bc of the prize list for this and my other writing contest), but I've spent way too much money this month alone for the worst reasons. My wallet is actually crying (like my heart rip), so I'm trying to limit how much I spend for the next few months. If there's a sudden influx of entries, I'll figure out what to do later on, but as of now, I've got an excess of prizes. So once the Sehun fan and Sehun stand are bought, the prize list will stay as is.
 
But for some good news, we've unlocked another Best Of prize and we've reached twenty entries as of this update! Thank you to everyone who has entered since the last update! The newest Best Of prize that is now available is the Best Of - Chen story prize! I've formally added the Best Of prizes to the Prizes page, so people are aware that they exist without needing to read these updates, and if we unlock more, I'll make sure to update you all. But RIP the China Line. Lu Han has no individual entries, he and Lay only have one entry each, and Kris and Tao have no entries at all. Completely understandable that not a lot of people write KrisHanTao nowadays, since they are no longer part of EXO, and I noticed that a lot of EXO-Ls stopped writing them after they left. But I personally don't mind stories with them and more China Line entries are always appreciated! (esp fting lay haha he's still in exo guise pls don't forget him ;~;)
 
I also want to say a big thank you to KyElMa for donating karma for the Best Of prizes! Thanks to her generous donation, the Best Of prizes can increase greatly! I won't be officially increasing the karma amounts right now, since I think it's better to wait for more entries to roll in as that will help me with the prize logistics at the contest's conclusion. But if there are extra karma points left over from the donations, they will be divided and dispersed proportionately to the winners of the Best Of prizes. So more donations means more karma being given out! If you'd also like to be a karma donator, please contact me so we can discuss the specifics. I will repay you for your generosity!
 
Round Seven of my other writing contest, Shoes of a Unicorn Writing Contest, will be officially starting on August 24, 2017! If you want to try your hand at winning some more K-Pop merch next year, go ahead and enter there as well. It's a great opportunity to win more stuff, especially since your entries can be entered in both contests! ^^

Chapter 25: Thank you so much for hosting! It's been a hell of a ride and a hell of an inspiration for me, personally as a writer, and I really appreciate all that you've pulled through with, even through everything that's happened lately. So thanks for all the hard work and dedication you've put into this contest, and all the positive vibes you've created as well.

Chapter 25: first of all, i'd just like to say thank you so much for hosting this contest. you've been having an extremely rough time and i'm so happy you're feeling well enough to announce winners. everyone has been taking jonghyun's passing really hard. it took me a solid three days to realize it was real and not some news source's sick, awful prank.

i'm really grateful i was able to place eighth despite the fact that everyone was confused af in my comments. i was super nervous that it was horrible or something. congrats to all of the winners!!

Chapter 25: Thank you so much for hosting this contest! This is my first time participating in one and you made it as enjoyable as possible for me with the list of prizes and updates. honestly speaking I have been on writer's block for months ever since Pretend was published but somehow reading this today really made me wanna just sit down in front of my laptop and quickly start on my half-completed stories. I guess it's the motivation to do better :) anyway, thank you again!

Chapter 25: Ahhh, I’ve never actually participated in a contest before - I always said to myself ‘maybe I’ll do that!’ and then I never did. But I’m glad that wasn’t the case this time.
Thank you for doing this contest, and thank you so much for your message on Jonghyun. I’ve only just been able to start reading stuff again so I can only imagine how hard it was for you. But you did it! You read all the entries and you finished this contest, that’s as much of an achievement as people finishing their stories. And on the topic of finishing stories... I finished one! Granted it was a one-shot but I finished it! I am glad that I found this contest 24 hours before the deadline... because it gave me a push that I needed. But next time I’ll definitely look towards joining before the deadline hahaha
No matter what my ranking, I’m happy with myself for writing something so thank you for helping me to do that :)
And I’m happy with my ranking too!
