Jang Hyunseung was in a medically induced coma.  He laid on a hospital bed sleeping, as he never had before, hand in hand with Hyuna.  She would never let him go.  He had been asleep in this anesthetic state since after his surgery to remove the lodged bullet from his arm.  The anesthesiologist couldn’t explain why Jang Hyunseung was still asleep because any other patient in his state would have awakened already. 

Hyuna sang softly.  

“My love is stronger with each kiss, each dying day.   Each moment with you feeling your breath.  Secret Lover.  “

He moved his hand pulling her towards him.  Jang Hyunseung opened his eyes from his rested slumber and sang the rest of the lines.  “Saranghae, secret lover.”

Hyuna kissed him on the forehead.

Manager Kang knocked on the door.  “It’s open,” she replied as she smoothed out her dress. 

“Did I catch you and Hyunsunggie at a bad time?”

“No.  Come in.”

“His mother and sister are here.”

Hyuna felt as she had been caught doing something wrong.  After the incident of the pregnancy rumors, his mother had refused to talk to her.  She barely knew his sister.  She was an intruder in their family affair.

“I need to go.” 

But it was too late, Manager Kang let them in.  

His sister ran up to Hyunseung and pulled on his covers. 

“Hyuna-isshi, kamsahamnida,”  Hyunseung’s mother said. She was a stylish modern woman with long brown hair and the same piercing eyes as her son.  “You have saved my son’s life.  CEO Hong explained to me how you kicked the gun out of that woman’s hands.  I am thankful for your courage.” 

Hyuna bowed her head. 

“Your son was the one who saved my life.”

“Eomma,” Hyunseung muttered.  “She is the woman I love.  Please accept her.”
