Spoiled arrogant brat?

Hold Me Tight - (VKook/BTS)

Hey guys! Here's another update of Hold Me Tight! I hope you're enjoying it as much as I'm enjoying writing it .xx

"Ⓨou're Hoseok's friend," he smiled. Embarrassedly frustrated, Taehyung avoided his gaze with a shy nod. "May I ask for your name?"

Taehyung fought against himself to not stutter. "Kim Taehyung," he replied, his voice going high pitched.

Jungkook smiled sweetly at him. "Kim Taehyung," he grinned, "you're Mrs Kim's son? I only started working here a few weeks ago, but I haven't seen you around.” He chatted as he was checking up on Taehyung's mother, although he was very careful for his patient.

"I - I don't always have time to visit," he muttered, disappointed in himself to not visit his mother as much as he wished for, but he couldn't as he was busy with school and his part-time job to survive on his own. His mother had a job, but lost it right before the accident, and that's when he knew he had to get his own.

"I see," Jungkook said as he was testing something on the sleeping patient. "But you're a good son. You have a job as well, don't you? It's not easy to be able to do everything, right?" Jungkook's smile was so addicting to the blond male that he couldn't help but to smile as well.

The two boys continued to chat with another, Taehyung still in his mother's presence whilst Jungkook still did his job. At one point, Jungkook stopped talking and doing his job as he stared at the blond one. "Wha - What is it?" he fluttered as his crush was staring intently at him, which only made him feel embarrassed.

"You're not how Hoseok described you," he said as he started chuckling.

Taehyung's shy smile dropped at the mention of his friend. "He only enjoys to make my life miserable," he muttered with a small glare that was not directed towards the slightly younger one.

"He's not a bad kid," Jungkook laughed, "he's funny and cheers me up." Not as cheerful as you, Taehyung thought as he couldn’t take his eyes off of him. "He told me you never smiled or even talked much, just some rude comments here and there."

Taehyung's eyes widen at the remark. I'm gonna kill that kid. "I - "

"I know he's only kidding, but you seem like the total opposite. You've been smiling this whole time and talking with me. I guess you need to keep him updated about your profile." Jungkook guffawed more as he did his work, whilst the other male was too embarrassed to say another word. He might soon find out that Taehyung was in fact perfect for the description, only Jungkook was an exception.

As Taehyung stood up and placed his chair back to its original place and put on his light jacket, Jungkook popped out of the room beside. "You're leaving?" he asked with wide eyes.

"Work," he replied shortly as he made his way to the door.

Jungkook quickly ran up to him whilst giving him a handshake as he pumped his shoulder against the blond one's. "See you later, Taehyung," he said with a beaming grin. He waved at him as he walked back to the room he was previously in, and Taehyung could finally escape.

On his way to his job, he couldn't help but to cringe as the previous event; meeting Jungkook whilst visiting his mother who was in coma was not something that had entered his mind. He didn't even know Jungkook had a job.

But the blond male had to smile at the thought. This was the first time they had talked to each other directly. Sure, they've been in the same school since they were freshmen, but Taehyung always made sure he'd never talk to him. At first he despised the boy; everything he did was the total opposite of him: he talked to everyone he passed, giving them all a smile. But what Taehyung hated the most was his top grades that was unshakeable. Taehyung, the giant nerd that was desperate to receive top grades, hated the sight of him. He really thought he was arrogant and a spoiled brat.

However, when it was the summer holiday to their sophomore year, Taehyung coincidentally spotted Jungkook around in a park nearby his house. He was having a big fight with his family, and he was crying hysterically.

Taehyung didn't mean to have listened to their conversation - okay, maybe he did; he was in fact very curious of what the spoiled arrogant brat was crying over (maybe he wouldn't get his car he was promised ever since he could take his own steps at the age five) - but that wasn't the case.

The crying boy was afraid; his parents were scolding him for getting a ninety-nine score on the Math exam he received right before summer holidays. Not longer after, Taehyung realised how wrongly he was judging him without even thinking of how he was possibly on the inside, and only barely looked on the outside.

Jeon Jungkook was always a happy polite boy that cared for everyone; he loved to make people feel better, and he always helped in a way he possibly could. On the inside, he lived with his strict family, expecting him to get top grades at all times. Who knows how things really were at home?

The boy was obviously overworking himself. He studies, attend school without skipping one single class, plus he works. Did his parents want to kill him? That always crossed Taehyung's mind every time he'd catch a glimpse of tiredness on the male's face. Plus he always attended club activities, such as sports. He always did basketball and training to keep fit. Honestly, Taehyung never got tired of watching him run and work out his body; when his muscles would flash, he was sure to remember the details, just in case he couldn't fall asleep at night, and he'd just smile to himself as he thought of Jungkook's muscles, or just his angelic smile.

"Hey! Watch it!" yelled a voice that was interrupting the male's fantasies.

The blond boy quickly ran to get a towel as he had managed to drop some glass he was cleaning from a used table.

Taehyung was working in a diner as he used to clean tables and the floor only. He had to yet be promoted as a waiter that was taking orders and serving drinks and such. His boss had told him he'd get promoted soon, as he's quite satisfied with the hardworking male.

"Be careful Taehyung-ah, most customers are usually grumpy you know," his colleague, Park Jimin, said as he helped him picking up the shattered pieces.

"Thanks," he muttered, nonchalant as usual.

"Taehyung," he called after him, and the male turned around. "Get some rest,” he said, “I can see you're tired."

"I'm fine.” He threw the pieces and continued to clean around. There were always some customers that would spill and just leave without cleaning, or even notifying him, which caused him some trouble when the next customers would spot this and complain how dirty the diner was; and that would always be Taehyung's fault.

"Good work today," his boss, Kim Seokjin, complimented him and give him the tips he earned. "You'll get paid tomorrow, all right? Come by as soon as your school quits, I need people." Taehyung nodded respectfully and removed his apron where he folded it nicely and placed it in his own little locker and grabbed his jacket.

"See you tomorrow Taehyung," Jimin grinned as he waved him off. Taehyung nodded back and exited the diner.

Tomorrow would be an all replay where everything would happen exactly like today.  Although the difference of today was that Jungkook talked to him, and maybe - just maybe - he'd talk to him tomorrow as well.
