~2 Years later~

[ I’m outside ]

I smiled at the message, instantly grabbing my bag and leaving my office.

“bye guys! I’ll see you all on Monday!” I waved at my fellow coworkers before making my way out of the building and towards the main entrance.

There he was.

Sitting in his red corvette smiling as he watched me come towards him. He was wearing his sunglasses like always even though it was almost 6pm, his hair was brushed to the side (just the way I like it) and his outfit (like always) was perfection.
He wore dark denims, a grey rock-band t-shirt and a black blazer on top, he had most of his piercings in today and his favourite cross necklace dangling around his neck.
Even now, after 2 years of dating, his charm was still enough to give me butterflies.

He was perfect & he was all mine.

“hey” I said, throwing my bag into the car before getting in myself.

“hey babe” he smiled widely as I leaned in for a quick kiss.

“you ready for our date night?” I excitedly asked while wrapping my arms around his.

He nodded his head in agreement before looking towards the street and beginning to drive.

Once we were on the road, I relaxed in my seat, pulling my hair up into a bun and taking out my phone to scroll through all the useless apps I had.
I noticed that Nari had messaged me a few times, I excitedly opened them since I hadn’t seen her in almost a year.

She was traveling the world now. Going to different placed to spread awareness of abusive relationships and the signs of an unhealthy association with your spouse. Although it was depressing not see her as much as I wanted to, I was happy that she had found her calling and was enjoying every second of it.

“Nari sent me pictures of Greece! We need to go there one day bummie” I said while shoving my phone towards him.

“I need to tell Nari to stop sending you pictures of places she goes or else I’m going to go broke” he instantly replied, pushing the phone aside while his eyes stayed glued to the road.

“Ha. Ha. Ha. Very funny. Honestly we’ve been dating for how long now?”

“Almost 3 years” he quickly answered, making my heart flutter.

“y-yea… and we still haven’t gone on a vacation together!” I whined, trying to pretend like I didn’t just get excited over the fact that he knew exactly how long we’d been together.

“don’t blame me, you’re the one always working!” he quickly argued back.

I opened my mouth to say something but quickly shut up when I realized he was right. Ever since Juwon was sent to jail, I was able to concentrate all my energy on work, like I wanted to. I got promoted almost 2 months after and now my work life is almost the only life I have. Which is mainly why Jaebum and I promised each other date nights at least once a week. No excuses and no canceling no matter what the circumstance.

I quickly shifted my body weight away from him and sunk into my seat, trying to hide the fact that I was upset he won our little argument. As the car slowed down at the intersection, Jaebum looked at me and began to grin as he watched me pout. He then quickly grabbed my hand and intertwined his fingers with mine before looking back at the road, waiting for the signal to turn green.

“we’ll go, I promise” he reassured, unable to take my ‘grumpy’ face any longer.

I immediately glanced his way, smiling uncontrollably and jumping in my seat as I rejuvenated in this new found energy I gained from his words. He looked at me and burst out laughing, taking in how silly I was acting.

I quickly kissed his cheek as he judged me, causing him to feel embarrassed and go cold once again. Everyone that knew we were dating knew that he was clearly the calm one in the relationship. It would be really hard to get him to loosen up, but the rare moments he did were the best. He’d turn into a totally different person and it always amuses me to see him act so serious when I know he’s got an excited personality hidden underneath.

“why are you going straight? Your house is to the right Jaebum” I stated, pointing at the direction we were supposed to go from the intersection.

“I thought we could grab something to eat for date night instead? I booked a reservation at a restaurant” he proudly stated.

“what!? But I look like a mess! Can we at least go back so I can change into something else!?”

“no because you look beautiful jagiya” he brought our intertwined hands up to his lips and pressed a sweet kiss to assure me of his words.

His compliment was enough to shut me up for the rest of the ride. My face going red and butterflies running around in my stomach.

Jaebum glanced my way, noticing my red face and began to laugh causing me to cover my face in shame and hide away until we made it to the restaurant.

“woah, are you sure you want to eat here? It feels kinda elite” I said to Jaebum as we walked into the 5-star restaurant.

“yea, why not? I heard they have the best roast chicken dinner plates” he said excitedly as he led me towards the reservation desk.

“reservation under Im Jaebum please” he said to the lady at the desk, holding my hand so that I wouldn’t run off to explore on my own.

“ah! Yes please come this way sir. Your guest is already here” the worker replied cheerfully as she began to lead the way.

“guest? Who did you invite to our date night?” I whispered, hoping the lady wouldn’t hear me.

“you’ll see in a second” he smiled as we entered our private room.
