It's over
PareballesOnly three of them were sober enough to drive: Yoongi, Jinsol and Hoseok. But much to Yoongi’s bad luck, Hoseok didn’t know how to drive and Jinsol didn’t have a license yet.
“You gotta be ing kidding me” Yoongi nagged at them, obviously pissed off.
Jimin’s eyes had disappeared an hour ago, when he became nothing but a machine of contagious laughter. All he did was laugh, and laugh, and keep laughing at the most random things you could imagine. Then, while Namjoon wasn’t that drunk, he had been drinking and you could spot them stumbling on his own feet here and there, occasionally finding Jimin’s lame jokes funny.
“What are you talking about hyung?” Hoseok chuckled adorably. Jungkook’s eyes opened slightly at the sound of the little laugh. “This is funny. You should film them or something.”
Yoongi’s frown softened, and he ended up half-smiling as well.
“You want to blackmail them later?” Jungkook teased, and Hoseok only shrugged his shoulders, with a little hint of a smile still gracing his face.
“I guess I’ll drive back too…” Yoongi sighed in defeat. It was moments like these that made him realize how much Jin looked after them. If he had been there, Yoongi would’ve drank too, and he wouldn’t have worried about who would drive back. Jin would’ve done that, and it made him feel a bit guilty.
They all laid on the back of the pick-up and most of them fell asleep. Jimin was resting his head on Hoseok’s lap, and Jungkook was sitting up with his head constantly moving. Namjoon, on the other side, was sleeping on Jinsol’s shoulder. She had never seen him sleep, but he looked quite sweet and not scary at all. Actually, seeing him sleep was kind of peaceful.
She tried not to move too much, so that he wouldn’t wake up. She was really trying her best, but Jimin seemed to be cold and she tried to reach for one of the blankets.
Unfortunately, she didn’t manage to reach it and before she noticed, Namjoon was awake, his eyes were half-openly staring at her.
“Oopsie, sorry” Jinsol fixed quickly.
Namjoon gave her a sleepy look and then he covered Jimin with the same blanket that she was trying to reach. He definitely had a very soft spot for each one of his brothers.
That’s the kind of boy he was. Covering Jimin with a blanket when he noticed he was cold, never using the sleeping tea so that Hoseok could use it more, and giving his homemade food to Jungkook so that he wouldn’t miss the feeling of a warm meal.
He sat back, making it obvious that he wasn’t going to sleep anymore. It wasn’t a voluntary move, she honestly didn’t even notice, but she was looking at him in a whole different light. She finally noticed how his skin was really pale and it looked soft with a couple moles in it, and how his dimples were noticeable even when he wasn’t moving at all. She knew he wasn’t necessarily a flower boy, but God, his face was like art. Jinsol couldn’t help but stare at him. And he noticed, they locked eyes and she thought she saw a spark in his and a hint of a smile, but she looked away immediately, not daring to see Namjoon’s reaction. Fortunately, he didn’t say anything.
They drove her home, and she was really embarrassed because it wasn’t particularly close to theirs. She said she would just take a taxi, but Namjoon and Yoongi insisted that it was totally fine, since they would worry otherwise.
She spent the entire night thinking about Namjoon.
She didn’t know why, but thinking about him now made wish she could’ve stayed at his place. She enjoyed his company more than she imagined, and even found him attractive nowadays. She was all flustered when he slept on her shoulder, and every time he held her hand, it made her want to hold his even tighter. Whenever he smiled, she couldn’t help but hide a tiny smile, and sometimes, she found herself wishing she could touch him.
She was so confused.
Jinsol had come to a conclusion. She liked Namjoon. She wasn’t sure of how deep it was, but she definitely had a thing for him. It wasn’t even close to how she felt when she was around Jin before. That was a crush, that was basically her thinking he was cute and nice and adorable. When she was around him, she felt nervous, and shy, and even insecure.
It wasn’t like that around Namjoon. With him she felt calm, at ease and comfortable whether she was wearing fancy clothes and straight hair or her usual school uniform and a ponytail. That was the biggest difference. Saying she was confused didn’t mean she didn’t know whether she liked one or the other, but whether she liked Namjoon, or she was falling for him instead.
Being a senior and everything, Jinsol had been forcing herself to focus on her studies. It was hard, because her mom was too much of a distraction at home, offering her food and snacks every five minutes, and half of the time her studying sessions ended up with her using her phone or watching random videos. She only began her actual sessions late at night, and when she was already immersed in the books and totally focused, she told herself it would be a big mistake to just stop. Eventually, she found herself falling asleep often in the train.
“What’s with your new sleeping habits?” Namjoon teased. He didn’t dare to wake her up, so he had been saving the question for a few days now, so he took the chance.
“I’ve been studying for my CSAT, and I can only focus at night” she explained, and he nodded understandingly.
“Why exactly?”
“Mom distracts me a lot,” she replied, “I’m thinking of going to the library though, but they say it's always full” Jinsol grumbled.
Namjoon thought about it, and came up with something that sounded like a good idea. He wasn’t sure if she would agree, but it could help. In fact, he had been thinking of taking the CSAT that year. He had postponed it for two years, and maybe it was time for him to enroll in the college life. Jin would definitely appreciate that.
“Come to our place,” he said nonchalantly. Jinsol looked at him in surprise. “It’s mostly Hoseok, Jungkook and me there. The house is always silent.”
She shook her head quickly. That was way too much, it would probably make all of them uncomfortable and that wasn’t her intention. She didn’t mean to disturb them during their free time.
“Jungkook is always studying, and I’m thinking of applying too,” he confessed a bit embarrassed. He was older than her for two solid years, but after finishing high school and getting into Big Hit, he didn’t want anything else than that. He liked it how it was now, but he couldn’t imagine himself being an assistant all the time. He wanted something
