A slight hint
PareballesNamjoon made himself comfortable on his bed, he fixed his pillow and then he fixed the blankets. He had been laying there for a while, changing his position every five minutes because he wasn’t feeling relaxed at all.
The bed was not the reason, though.
He had been thinking and he came up with a random idea. It seemed good but it made him just a bit nervous. He had nothing to lose, though. So why not?
He reached for his phone and scrolled through his contacts until he found her.
Namjoon waited patiently with a huge grin plastered on his face.
“Jinsol?”
“Who is this?” she asked confused and Namjoon chuckled at her voice. She sounded a lot like she had been sleeping for a while.
“Namjoon” he told her. They never really exchanged numbers, but she had given him a piece of paper with her number written there. She said it was just in case.
“Ah… “ Namjoon was playing with his feet, moving them to the sides. “How are you?”
“Fine. But “ he cut her off and continued “I need a favor from you” knowing how kind she was, he didn’t hesitate to use the word need. He felt kind of bad, but since she didn’t think it twice before agreeing, he thought it was just fine.
“Sure, what is it?”
“Do you think she will actually tell me anything?” Jinsol hesitated.
Namjoon had come up with some weird plan that included a well-dressed version of her visiting Jin’s mother and telling her about her “relationship” with her son. Maybe that way Jin’s mom would let her know something.
Jinsol thought it wasn’t a good idea, but he looked a bit hopeful and after he explained for her how useless and frustrated he felt. She could only give him a weak, sympathizing smile.
Even if she tried, she couldn’t bring herself to say no.
If she could make him feel better just by doing something so small she would do it. It was fine.
She gathered all the strength that she could, but it all fell as soon as she spotted Jin’s house. It was huge, and beautiful, and luxurious. And she felt suddenly out of place there. She looked down at herself and then at the house, biting her lip.
“If this bothers you too much, you can back down” he said, not daring to look at her in the eyes. Seeing how she looked a bit nervous, he realized maybe he was actually being too much.
But she hurried up to answer reassuringly. “It’s fine, really. I can do it.”
She didn’t let him say anything else before she unlocked the door and made her way to the huge gate. She pressed the button of a small machine and waited until someone asked her name. Jinsol stayed there, expectantly glancing at Namjoon from the corner of his eye. That little gesture made Namjoon’s guilt come out of nowhere.
“Uhm… my name is Choi Jinsol. I’m Jin’s… uh…” she coughed before she forced herself to keep lying to an elder “girlfriend, kind of… yeah. I was wondering if I could talk to Ms. Kim?”
She waited until she heard a beep.
On the other side, Namjoon felt so bad. Jinsol kept moving her feet and playing with her fingers, and was moving as if she was practicing her speech.
Seriously, why did she have to make him feel so ashamed?
“ it” cursing himself under his breath, he jogged his way to the entrance before guilt began to consume him.
At the sight of him, she squee
