Chapter Twenty-One
The girl he loves
One of the things that Kim Mingyu hated and detested the most in his high school life was getting casted in plays.
So when he got casted for the third time, the teenage boy wanted nothing but to dig a hole and hide.
He wasn’t even a part of the drama club in the first place, but thanks to his best friend who kept nagging the club president that he was an actor material, the president couldn’t help but agree because truth to be told, Mingyu was talented in acting.
As much as he wanted to deny that fact, he just couldn’t because Selene had enough evidence that he knew to act like a pro, and those evidences were kept in her mother’s phone.
Back to Mingyu and Selene’s childhood, Wendy used to take videos of the two youngsters whenever they played pretend as actors, and she had no intention to delete them.
The selected play was going to be RED QUEEN, a young adult book written by Victoria Aveyard.
Mingyu was appointed as Prince Cal, the male protagonist of the book.
At first, he didn’t mind being forced to be one of the casts since a heroic badɑss role suited him. However, after finding out that there was going to be a kissing scene, he tried so hard convincing the president to change the play into something with no romantic scenes, but the woman was too stubborn to listen to him.
Everyone would die to kiss the heroine, but in Mingyu’s case, he wouldn’t dare.
Not when the female lead was none other than his very own best friend.
He doesn’t want to ruin his first kiss with her.
He doesn’t want it to be done in school, in a play where strangers and thousands of eyes would witness it.
Yes, he was in love with Selene, but he told himself not to be excited about it because what if the girl doesn’t swing the same way?

“What’s the matter?” Miss Jung, the drama club president asked Mingyu who was sprawled on the stage, clutching onto his stomach.
“Nothing, Miss Jessica.” The boy sat up. “I’m just hungry, I suppose.”
The young lady chuckled. “Mercy upon your appetite, dear child.”
Mingyu forced a smile as he watched Miss Jung continuing to assist the other students with their outfits.
Today was the first day of practice and he wasn’t ready at all.
The rehearsal was going to start in less than fifteen minutes.
He wasn’t really nervous, but he suddenly felt dizzy that he might pass out, and that’s exactly what happened.
By the time Mingyu woke up, he found himself lying in the infirmary, a gentle hand holding his free hand and a pair of beautiful blue eyes staring back at him.
Despite his bleary vision, he could still make out Selene’s perfect features.
“How are you feeling?” She asked worriedly.
“Your eyes looks like the day sky.” The boy mumble
