Prologue
The girl he loves
As if it was some kind of horror movie, Wendy was frozen on her spot as the sight in front of her made her stomach churn.
Blank stares, bored stares, strange stares and judgmental stares.
Everyone except for one boy at the back of the classroom was staring at her as if she was an alien, and that was one thing that she hated to the guts, being stared at.
“Are you okay, dear?” The teacher’s soft voice snapped her back to reality.
“Oh sorry, Miss Bae. I was mentally rehearsing how to introduce myself.” Wendy scratched the back of her head awkwardly.
That earned her a laugh from the boys, and her face grew a faint shade of red in embarassment.
In reality, she was lost in her own reverie.
Like, do you even need to rehearse your introduction?
Great job, idiot.
Way to embarrass yourself.
“Behave, everyone.” The teacher scolded before facing the new student once again. “Go on, dear.”
“My name is,” she faltered for a second. “Wendy Son. I’m from Canada, but I moved to Seoul two weeks ago because I want to continue my studies here. I hope we’ll all get along-”
“Canada you said?” One of the girls in the front row interrupted her.
“So that’s why your accent is weird!” Another one said.
“Why would someone name their daughter Windy? Isn’t that a weather?”
“Enough! Show some respect.” Miss Bae half shouted, slightly startling the new girl.
