Q&A Segment
Here Lies the BrideNote: HLTB stands for 'Here Lies the Bride', the title of this story.
How did I come up with the idea for HLTB?
I was thinking about why there were no horror stories (at least, that I've seen/read) with the reader as the murderer. So why not write one and be the first that you know of? It was pretty interesting, and gave me the shivers thinking about it.
Who's my favourite character in HTLB?
I have an extremely soft spot for Lee Chan in this story, and Wonwoo. Chan would probably be my favourite. He's adorable, and you can tell exactly how much love he has for the reader. It's kind of romantic, and a bit sadistic at the same time. I'm sure Chan has a more hidden sadistic side to him (unknown to anyone else except the reader) that was unleashed in the story.
Which character had major development, besides the reader?
Hoshi/Soonyoung, who'd changed from his usual happy-go-lucky self into a crazed murderer himself, seeking revenge. He was probably the only one who had an extreme drastic change, besides Jun. Jun fell into a state of depression, and gave up his life at the end.
What playlist did I use while writing HLTB?
Honestly, whatever I listened to probably clashed with the actual theme. I listened a lot to Seventeen's Boys Be album songs, Twice's Ooh Ahh, Kye Bumzu's 28.5, some AOA, etc. Nothing that gives off the whole mystery/horror/angst thing.
Was this written 'on-the-go' or planned beforehand?
Most of it was written on the go, trust me, I was as surprised as you readers. I had a few 'set' characters like Wonwoo, Chan, and the reader who wouldn't die or at least until the very end (in the case of Wonwoo). I used a random roulette for the rest, up to a certain point. I think it was up to Mingyu. The rest were sorted into places where I thought it would be more dramatic.
What if the story clashed with the truth? And how was it edited?
I backread a bit to double check, and my memory is usually pretty good, so I think (hope) that nothing clashed at all in this story. I'd be able to remember what happened here and there as I went along.
Did the reader ever have feelings for Wonwoo?
I hope she did, at least even a little.
Why did I pick Chan to be the accomplice?
I always found Chan very adorable, (he's younger than me aww), and I was hoping for a sort of romance plot thing. I used Chan as a basis of admiration and love for the reader. He'd probably be the one I'd want to kill least in this situation. Also, I find that Chan would be too innocent to bully a close girl friend of his, but crazy enough to go to long lengths to make her happy.
