Love is a Confession

One Shot at Love

OH SEHUN

The showcase went great, fortunately enough. Whatever miracle had happened that took my flu away, I was really thankful for it. Though when I found out Jongin didn't make it to the showcase, the smile on my face faded ever so slightly and I grew worried. He seemed pretty determined on coming, and I knew how stubborn the boy was, so something might have happened with him. I might have been over thinking it but I couldn't help the bad feeling within me. The rest of my crew wanted to go out and celebrate our good performance but I had to bail, telling them I was tired and wanted to go to bed. I really just wanted to get back to the dorm room as soon as possible because I couldn't shake the feeling that something bad had happened. Of course they argued with me for a while, trying to convince me to come until Yixing stepped in and told them to let me do whatever I wanted.

It was times like those I really appreciated Yixing. Always there, always sticking out for me. I smiled at him in gratitude before making my way out of the theater and grabbing a cab.

When I made it back to the dorm room, there was no one there. Jongin wasn't in the washroom either. I tried calling him, only to find out he had left the phone in the room. I groaned, getting even more worried now. Where the hell would he go at this time?!

I thought of the dance studio, but the campus was supposed to be locked so he couldn't have been there. Sighing, I left the room and asked a few people in the hallway whether they'd seen the tall brunette. Unfortunately, no one did. I wasn't sure where I was supposed to look. Where would I even start?

"Hey, Sehun. Great performance today!" Chanyeol greeted with a wide grin, before frowning at me, "Hey, you doing okay there, bud?"

"Uh... yeah. Just looking for someone. Have you seen Jongin anywhere?"

"Your roommate?" Chanyeol placed a hand under his chin in concentration, as if calculating, "Oh yeah! I did see him in the hallway a while ago. He looked pretty grumpy for some reason. Didn't even reply when I said hi to him."

My eyes lit up instantly, "Do you know where he went?"

"I think he entered the pool area. But I don't know if he's still the-"

"Thanks, Yeol!" I cut him off, quickly jogging my way down the staircase to get to the ground floor. Why the pool? He never told me he liked to swim.

When I got to the pool area, I sighed in relief when I spotted Jongin there, swimming in the deep end. There was no one else but him. I couldn't help but watch him for a while. The way his wet hair stuck to his forehead, the way his muscles flexed as he glided through the water gracefully, the way his damp, tan skin glistened under the dim moonlight.

It looked almost like a dance.

Shaking out of my trance, I made my way toward the boy and crossed my arms.

"There you are!" I groaned, catching his attention.

"Sehun?" He frowned, "What are you doing here?"

"What are you doing here? You have a fever and you're out here swimming in this ice cold water! Do you have a death wish?!"

"I'm fine, Sehun. I wouldn't be swimming if I wasn't," he rolled his eyes, "Seriously though, why are you here?"

"I..." I bit my lip, "I was looking for you. I mean... I got a little worried since you didn't come to the showcase today."

Jongin sighed exasperatedly and swam towards me, resting his arms on the edge of the pool.

"I'm sorry I couldn't make it."

I sighed and sat down Indian-style on the ground in front of him, "Look, that's not the problem."

"No, I... I really wanted to come and see you tonight but I ing fell asleep. I was out like a light and by the time I woke up it was already over. I was... pretty bummed out so I came here to clear my head."

I sighed in relief, "It's okay. But I really don't think you should be swimming with your fever."

He suddenly grabbed my hand and brought it to his damp forehead.

"I'm all good now, see? I just needed some sleep, I guess."

I frowned in confusion, "Come to think of it you do look a lot better now. That's weird." It was almost like the flu jumped from me, to him, and then suddenly disappeared. Even though I was grateful, it was just... unnatural.

"Life is weird," he sighed, shrugging, "Say... why don't you join me?"

I blushed and looked away from him, "I-I'll pass."

"Hm? Why?"

"It's embarrassing but... I can't swim," I sighed.

"Nothing embarrassing about it," he smiled warmly, "I'll teach you. Come on in."

I stared at him hesitantly.

"We'll start at the shallow end, okay?"

I sighed, "Fine. I'll kill you if you let me drown."

He laughed softly, "I'll never let you drown."

I stood up and stripped out of my shirt and jeans, discarding them to the floor so I was only clad in my black boxers. When I looked at Jongin, I noticed that he was staring at me up and down with glazed over eyes and I blushed. The lighting here's pretty bad. I was probably just imagining it.

I got into the shallow of the pool, shivering at the coolness of the water as Jongin swam toward me. He started by teaching me the basic arm and leg movements and how to stay afloat. When I tried to swim, he would keep his hands under my chest to keep me afloat. I couldn't help but feel shivers where his fingers touched me, but I tried my best to shake it off and concentrate. It somehow reminded me of when he taught me Latin dance.

Speaking of which, I had really missed our Latin dance sessions. Not only were they helping me improve my skills, but they were also a lot of fun.

About half an hour later, the two of us were floating on the water on our backs silently, staring up at the sky. Neither of us talked but it was a comfortable silence. It was peaceful and relaxing. I thought about how my feelings for Jongin were growing everyday. Even when I tried to avoid him, it didn't change a thing. I knew what I was getting myself into but  it. It was already too late to stop my feelings for him. Whether I avoided him or not didn't make a difference anymore.

"Hey... I'm gonna have more free time on my hands now that the showcase is over," I spoke and he hummed so I knew he was listening, "If you don't mind... we could go back to our Latin dance sessions."

When he replied, I could basically hear the smile in his voice, "I was wondering when you were gonna bring that up. Of course I don't mind."

I smiled to myself, closing my eyes. We stayed silent for a while after that.

"Sehun?"

"Hm?"

"Did you even realize we're at the deep end now?"

My eyes widened as I shrieked in a girly voice, thrashing about in the water. I could hear Jongin's laughter moving towards me as two hands were suddenly holding my waist, steadying me.

"Relax... I've got you," He said calmly as I stopped thrashing, taking a few deep beaths.

"You ... why didn't you warn me earlier?"

He grinned, "Sorry."

I let out a frustrated puff of breath. At least I knew he was holding me so I wasn't going to drown. We both stayed in that position for a while and I found myself staring at him, admiring his features. His big, bright brown eyes, his cute nose, his plump lips. I knew he was handsome but having him so close, I realized all over again just how beautiful he was. I couldn't take my eyes off of him. Maybe I was being creepy, but in my defense, he was staring at me too. I felt his hands move up my waist, sending chills down my body.

At that moment, I thought, maybe, just maybe he felt something for me too. It made sense, right? The way he always cared about me, the way he looked at me... the way he was looking at me now.

No... Stop deluding yourself. Even if he did like you, which he probably doesn't, you can't be with a guy.

I diverted my gaze from him, clearing my throat awkwardly.

"Uh... It's getting late don't you think? We should head back."

It looked like he wanted to say something but only sighed and nodded, "Yeah... We should."

I slipped back into my usual schedule with Jongin soon enough. It was nice to get back into Latin dance, and fortunately enough I hadn't forgotten much of it. Once the music reached my ears and I was in the handhold with Jongin, it all came back to me. Apart from that, we sometimes went swimming together when we were both free and had nothing else to do. I found out it was something Jongin enjoyed doing in his spare time, and that he was apparently in the swim team back at school.

He was also spending less time with Soojung, which admittedly was pretty satisfying.

"Well I obviously don't have to invite you guys to my birthday party, since that's already a given," Yixing said we were having lunch a week later.

"Ooh! You should totally invite Joonmyeon!" Tao exclaimed, eyes sparkling.

Baekhyun only scoffed at him. "Why the hell would Yixing invite our boss to his birthday party?"

"Because I need to get laid."

"You can invite him if you want to, Tao," Yixing said with a chuckle, "But no one's getting laid at my house. I'm gonna be locking every room that has a bed in it. I'm not doing the same mistake as last year."

Chanyeol cringed, "Yeah, that was messy..."

"Jongin, you are coming right?"

Said boy looked up from his plate and I stared at him expectantly. Yixing's parties were usually a lot of fun and I wanted Jongin to be there.

"Sure."

"That's great," Yixing grinned happily, "Since you're roommates you can come with Sehun. Oh and feel free to invite whoever you want."

As the rest of the table got caught up in conversation, I elbowed Jongin, "Hey, what do you say we go pick out a gift for Yixing together later today?"

It was the day of Yixing's birthday party, The booming bass from the music could already be heard from outside the house by the time Jongin and I arrived. There were a few drunk people stumbling around out on the lawn and empty cups and bottles strewn about on the grass.

"Wow," Jongin whistled, staring up at the villa in awe, "I didn't know Yixing's parents were loaded."

I chuckled, "Yeah, he's a pretty modest guy. I was surprised the first time, too. Let's go in."

The inside of the villa was crowded and full of drunk students either dancing to the obnoxiously loud music playing from the expensive speakers, making out in corners or in the kitchen getting drinks. Luckily Yixing's parents were out of town and weren't going to witness the hot mess their house had become.

We spotted Yixing with Baekhyun, Chanyeol and Luhan at the sofa in the middle of the room, chatting together and drinking.

"You guys made it," Yixing shouted over the loud music, smiling instantly when he saw us.

"Sorry we were late," I said as I placed his gift on the table nearby with all the others. I knew Yixing had a thing for photography so Jongin and I pooled in some money together and bought him the Polaroid camera he had been wanting to get for a while now.

"Look at Tao grinding up against his boss," Baekhyun snorted, "That guy has no shame."

I turned to the direction Baekhyun was looking at to see just that, Tao and Junmyeon dancing and grinding against each other, both obviously drunk. The sight was... disturbing to say the least. I wasn't sure how I would look my boss in the eye after that day.

"They're cute together," Jongin said thoughtfully.

"Cute isn't the word I'd use..." I shuddered, making the rest laugh. Despite everything, I was glad Tao seemed to be enjoying himself. The guy had a crush on Joonmyun for pretty much forever now.

The party went on for the next few hours. We had the the cake-cutting ceremony, we talked, danced and drank together. Of course I only reluctantly accepted one drink since I was the biggest lightweight I'd ever known and I wasn't planning on getting wasted that night. The last time I did that I regretted it for the rest of my life. Jongin on the other hand was downing in one drink after the other and still looked sober. Even though he claimed he didn't drink often, the guy had some really high alcohol tolerance. I was almost envious.

I was dancing with Jongin to the loud, thumping pop music, feeling the alcohol sink into my system slowly. I wasn't sure how long I was dancing for. All I could hear was the music, driving my body with its beat. I probably looked like a stripper because I didn't have any inhibitions. Even Jongin seemed a little surprised with how much I was into it.

Everything was starting to get hazy for some reason. Frowning, I rubbed my eyes a couple of times but it didn't really change anything. All I could see was Jongin in front of me, among a hazy crowd of people dancing. Or rather, two Jongin's. I stared at the way he moved his body, his waist, his hips. Why did he have to always look so damn y? I bit my lip, feeling my hormones go on overdrive by watching him. I just wanted to rub my hands all over his body. I wasn't even trying to keep the dirty thoughts away, which I probably would have if my mind was clear. I couldn't possibly be bothered at that moment though.

Jongin caught my gaze and smiled at me. But that smile slowly turned into a frown.

"Sehun? Are you okay?"

Even his voice sounded ethereal and echoed among the indistinct noises in the room. My legs were beginning to feel like jelly and I found myself stumbling forward, but Jongin was quick enough to grab me by the shoulders to steady me.

"Whoa there... Are you alright?"

I wrapped my arms around his neck and pulled his face closer to me, smirking.

"You're so hot, Jongin."

I could see the blood rush to his cheeks and the slightly surprised look on his face.

"Uh... th-thanks? Hey, you don't look so hot, do you want to go have a seat?"

"If you let me sit on your lap, sure," I said seductively, biting my lip, watching his blush darken. I noticed how slurry my voice was but I didn't really care much.

"Sehun, you're drunk."

I scoffed, "I only had one drink. I know I'm a lightweight but I'm not- Oh look a butterfly!" I let go of Jongin so I could try and reach for the butterfly that suddenly appeared out of nowhere. Of course I stumbled on my feet again and Jongin grabbed me before I could fall.

"Okay, maybe you should sit down."

I watched him as he dragged me back toward the couch and my lips. Jongin looked so pretty that night. I'd have liked to kiss those beautiful plump lips until they were all red and puffy.

"Whoa, what's up with Sehun?" I heard a familiar voice ask as I was put down on the couch.

"I don't know. He just suddenly started stumbling back and forth and acting weird."

"Geez, how much did he drink?"

"Just one shot."

"That's weird. That's not nearly enough to make even Sehun like that."

"Wait... Did someone spike his drink?"

"I'm not sure. Chanyeol, you were the one that gave us the drinks. Where'd you get them?"

"I don't know I just found them on some random table."

"Seriously, Chanyeol? Are you that dumb?!"

I heard Jongin sigh loudly as I stared at everyone blankly. I had no idea what was going on.

"Maybe I should take him to the guest room upstairs," I heard Yixing say.

"It's okay, I'll do it," Jongin spoke up, "It's your birthday after all, you should be enjoying yourself. I'll keep an eye on Sehun."

"You sure?"

"Of course. Don't worry about it."

Yixing sighed, "Alright. Here are the keys. It's upstairs, the door on the right at the far end of the corridor. I'm sorry you have to be stuck watching him when you should be enjoying the party..."

"It's okay. Jongin's my friend, too."

Friend? I found myself pouting.

"Alright, come on," Jongin said as he lifted me up to stand.

"Okay okay... Bye guys! We're going to heaven!" I yelled as Jongin pulled me away, shaking his head in disbelief. "Sooo where are we going again?"

"The guest room," Jongin replied as he helped me up the stairs.

My mouth formed an 'o' in understanding, "Are we going to do dirty things together? Because I wanna do dirty things together."

"No Sehun, we are not going to do dirty things together."

"Why nooooot~?" I whined.

"Because you're drunk and that's not what you really want"

"How do you know it's not?" I whispered, leaning in and nibbling on his earlobe.

"S-Sehun," He pulled me away from him, "Stop it."

"Why though? I think you like it..."

He sighed, "Geez, this is gonna be a long night."

"Is it as long as your d-"

"OKAY, how about you keep quiet for some time?"

"If it makes you happy, Jonginnie."

Jongin cringed at the nickname as he walked me through the hallway, looking for the guest room.

"Here it is," He said as he unlocked the door and helped me in, closing the door behind us. I stayed silent as he walked me in and lay me down on the bed.

"How are you feeling?"

I stayed silent and simply stared at him.

"Sehun..."

I pouted, "You told me to keep quiet."

Jongin sighed, "You can speak now, Sehun. How are you feeling?"

"."

"Okay..." He ran his hand through his hair in frustration, "How am I supposed to handle this again?"

"I have a few suggestions..." I said suggestively, crawling toward him on the bed.

"Sehun. Let's not, okay?"

I sighed exasperatedly, lying back on the bed in frustration, "It's not fair, you know?!"

Jongin frowned at me in confusion, "What's not fair?"

"Why do I have to like you so much?!" I yelled, unable to keep a filter on my emotions in my drunken state, "I was just fine before you showed up!"

Jongin blinked at me, eyes wide and mouth slightly agape.

"I'm so... ANNOYED," I groaned, "Why does this always happen to me?! Why am I always stuck with one-sided feelings?"

"Sehun, calm down..."

"You think I'm pathetic right? You think I'm gross because I'm gay...."

His eyes widened in surprise at my outburst and he simply stared at me in disbelief for a while.

"You're not pathetic, Sehun," He said seriously, "Don't ever say that about yourself."

"But it's true! Why... Why couldn't I just be normal? Why can't I just like girls?"

Suddenly the bed dipped and I was pulled into a warm embrace. Jongin had hugged me, and he was hugging me tight.

"There's nothing wrong with you, Sehun. You... You're perfect the way you are."

I bit my lip and dug my face into his shoulder, clutching at his shirt.

"You... really think so?"

"I know so," he pulled back and smiled at me gently, "Why don't you get some rest now?"

"Only if you'll stay with me."

"I'm not going anywhere, okay?"

I nodded and lay back on the bed. As Jongin was about to get up, I grabbed him by the arm, "Don't go."

"Relax, I'm just going to turn off the lights."

After he did that, he came back to the bed and lay next to me, a little too far for my liking. I immediately moved closer to him and dug my face into his chest, wrapping an arm around his body. I smiled when he wrapped his own arm around me and pulled me closer, running his fingers through my hair.

"Go to sleep now," he said gently, still playing with my hair.

"Mm..." I yawned, "Good night, Jonginnie."

"Good night, Sehun."

I fell asleep in his arms with a smile on my face soon after, listening to the sound of his steadily beating heart.
