The bell rings. Students quicken their steps down the hallway. A sullen Tiffany enters the hall in her usual skinny jeans and top with a thrown over jacket. Nichkhun from far behind, sees and runs up walking by her side to their Chemistry class. "Hey." No response. He quickly realizes the situation. He knows Tiffany has a habit of crawling into her tiny invisible world, that only she can be in, whenever she's sad. He just knows. And the two keep walking together, without either uttering a word. 

That day after school, Nichkhun comes to Tiffany's house. He knocks on the door that is already opened.

"Tiffany..."

"Hi."

"So I saw you going home after only 3rd period."

She stands up and looks at Nichkhun, leaning to her desk.

"I'm just wondering if you're okay."

"Noth-" The sadness that she was trying to hide has overwhelmed her.

"Hey... come here." Not too surprised by her outburst, he walks closer and pulls her into a hug. She closes her eyes trying to calm herself.

He then sits her down onto the bed. "What's wrong?" He asks.

Tiffany takes a moment before she says, "my dad is not gonna be here anymore, he's gonna move out to Northwood."

"Wasn't he always away?"

"Yeah, but this is different. He had work so he came home every other week. And now that he's gonna settle there, I don't know if he's even gonna come visit."

"No, don't think like that. He's still your dad and he will come visit you... He won't just leave you. And what did you tell him after he said that?"

"Nothing... I told him I was happy for him. But really," she pauses, "I'm not, not at all."

"Oh Tiffany, you can't be like this."

"He was sad over my mom for so long. Even though he always pretended to be happy and okay, for me not to be sad. I used to watch him cry and ran back to my room to cry with him. But now, he can move on to be happy, and even having a family. I can't just take it away, you know?"
