I sat on my desk and stared blankly at the dark space.

It's driving me crazy how I couldn't bring myself to talk to her anymore after that day. The day when I got rejected by the woman I really love. It's embarrassing of course, as well as hurtful how she doesn't feel the same.

*buzz*

I looked at my vibrating phone which lit up the dark room I am in. 

Looking at the caller ID, my chest felt a sharp pang when I saw her name showing up.

It vibrated for a little while as I battled inside my head as to pick it up or not.

My big pride and ego prevented me from reaching out to my phone, while my sentimental self really want to pick up her call and hear her voice.

Her voice, her freaking voice that would make every single worries look like a piece of cake.

But, why did she call me?

Before the last vibration, I quickly reached for my phone and answered.

Silence.

She did not speak a word, so did I.

I waited for her voice to surface, but after too long, I decided to be the one starting the conversation.

"Hello?" She finally spoke.

My mouth froze.

I was taken aback, almost speaking the same time she did.

"What's wrong?" I breathed.

I waited patiently for her to talk as I could picture her hesitating on what to say. That is the way she is anyway.

"I just wanted to talk to you. It has been long since we have talked."

Upon hearing her voice, my tears finally left my eyes and dripped down my cheeks.

"How are you? Are you good? Have you been eating well?"

What on earth is this woman.. being able to make such a screwed up man like me shed tears.

"Did you stock up the fridge? You can't be eating take-outs too frequently. It is unhealthy."

I looked across my bedroom to see stacks of pizza boxes and Jajangmyeon bowls stacked up and uncleared. And I am pretty sure that the food inside the fridge either expired or simply is just empty.

I smiled to myself, finding it ridiculous.

"You are still naggy as always." 

That's her, the woman I love.

"I did everything. You do not need to worry."

She paused for a moment before continuing.

"It is late... you should get to sleep."

"Yeah, I was just about to." I lied.

I wiped my tears away and cleared my throat.

"Goodnight." 

"Goodnight."

I hesitated a little before ending the call.

It's going to be very difficult from now on, and you are not by my side. Will I be okay? Without you?

"Hey Mr Kim!" Jimin greeted the man while clicking his glass of wine.
