Fallen Angel

Fallen Angel

Jung Su wore a white long-sleeve shirt, a pair of black pants and a pair of black shoes. He looked at his reflection on the mirror and took a deep breathe. After making sure that he is ready, he left to Kang Yong Il’s company. Although Kang Yong Il is a drug dealer, he runs a company called Pandora which is located in the city centre. Jung Su told the receptionist at the ground floor that he is here for the interview and was asked to take the lift to go to the fifth floor.

When he walked out from the lift, a man wearing grey long-sleeve shirt, a pair of black pants and a pair of black leather shoes was talking on the phone. The man noticed Jung Su’s sight was on him and turned around to look at him. His smiled and nodded his head slightly at Jung Su. Jung Su greeted him back.

“Are you here for the interview?” The man walked towards Jung Su after he ended his call.

“Yes,” Jung Su replied.

“Follow me then,” The man led Jung Su to the room where the interview was held.

Jung Su took out his resume. To his surprise, the man is one of the interviewers. He sat down in the middle seat and had a look at Jung Su’s resume. There are five interviewers in the room and each of them took turn to interview him. That man in particular asked him a few tough questions regarding management. At the end of the interview, they told him to go home and wait for their news.

Just a day after Jung Su had his interview, he was informed that he is officially employed by the company and the next day will be his first day at work. Jung Su called Hye Sung and told him about it.

“Well, you had already met the undercover,” Hye Sung told him through the phone.

Jung Su tried to recall the day he had his interview. His mind is only filled with the man who was talking on the phone when he reached the fifth floor. However he didn’t ask Hye Sung for further information about the undercover. Next morning, Jung Su wore whole black to the company. He is being employed as the assistant for the manager at the financial department. The department is at the sixth floor. When he walked into the office, he saw that same man talking to the manager.

“He is your new assistant,” The man told the manager. “Jung Su right, this is Mr Kim Jang Hyun, manager of financial department.”

“Annyonghaseyo,” Jung Su greeted the manager.

“Annyonghaseyo,” Kim Jang Hyun is a man in his forty. From Jung Su’s observation, Kim Jang Hyun seemed to be afraid of the other man but he couldn’t understand why. The man smiled and left the office while Kim Jang Hyun arranged his seat for him.

“I’m sorry to ask but who is the man speaking to the manager just now?” Jung Su asked one of his colleagues.

“He is Han Geng, Mr Kang’s first assistant,” Jung Su’s colleagues replied. “He has been working for Mr Kang for five years.”

“I see,” Jung Su finally knew the name of the man, Han Geng. Somehow, he felt that he had heard this name before but couldn’t remember from who. Jung Su soon engaged himself into the new working environment.

It is a weekend. So Ra slept until it was nearly afternoon and woke up. Her father has been reminding her to free her time for tonight’s dinner since three weeks ago. Her father had already gone out since early in the morning. After having her brunch, So Ra headed to the saloon she often visited.

Before heading towards the dinner venue, So Ra took a shower and wore a white dress with a pair of black heels. The dress is above her knees and has lacy sleeves. Her hair is curled for temporary. After making sure that she looks fine, the chauffeur sent her to the dinner venue.

When So Ra walked into the hall, everyone’s attention was on here. Later, they started whispering. So Ra ignored the attention other people had on her and looked for her father. She saw her father speaking to a man and thus walked towards them.

“Appa,” So Ra came to Kang Yong Il’s side and placed her hand around his arm.

“So Ra, this is Mr Kim Young Woon, CEO of Empire,” Kang Yong Il introduced the man he was talking to a while ago to So Ra.

“Annyonghaseyo,” Kim Young Woon, a man in his mid-twenties greeted So Ra. He was wearing a black suit, a pair of black pants and a pair of leather shoes. He didn’t use necktie or bowtie like the other guests. Also, his outstanding appearance made him stood out among these guests too.

“Annyonghaseyo,” So Ra smiled at him.

“I’ve often heard about you from Mr Kang. It’s a pleasure meeting you,” Young Woon smiled at her.

“Me too,” So Ra responded.

“So you’re still a student now?” Young Woon asked her.

“Yes,” So Ra nodded her head.

“What are you going to do after your graduation?” Young Woon questioned her.

“It’s still a long way before I graduate,” So Ra smiled.

“I see,” Young Woon responded. A man came to his side and whispered a few words to him. “Excuse me.”

“What do you think about him?” Kang Yong Il asked So Ra after Young Woon walked away.

“He’s nice,” So Ra concluded.

“Do you like him?” Kang Yong Il asked directly.

“Appa, I don’t plan to date anyone now,” When So Ra said that, a person’s face appeared in her mind. Maybe she would consider him but she didn’t even know his name. How is she supposed to meet him?

“He’s a well-known gentleman. If both of you can be together, it isn’t too bad,” Kang Yong Il told So Ra.

“Appa, we can be friends but not couple,” So Ra responded. Seriously, Young Woon isn’t her ideal type. Close but not a choice she would pick.

“You’re already twenty this year,” Kang Yong Il said. “When do plan to have a boyfriend? Thirty? Or forty? Date someone when you are still young.”

“Appa, let’s not discuss this topic anymore,” So Ra jumped the topic. She understood that her father wanted her to have someone beside her to take care of her and love her. But she didn’t have any plan seeing anyone yet.

Young Woon was standing in the corner speaking on the phone.

“You’ve met him?” Young Woon asked the person on the other end of the phone. “He’s working there? What do you want me to do? Araso, I’ll find a time and meet him. Don’t worry.”

Young Woon ended the call and looked at the direction where So Ra and Kang Yong Il were at.

‘This is the start.’
