Aftermath

...When I Was Young And In Love

The turbulence on the plane kept me awake. It was a short flight from Tokyo back to Seoul so everyone was a little restless. It seemed like we hadn’t been home in so long.
I sat alone in my seat, a little ways away from everyone else, trying to ignore how Wooyoung kept glancing back at me as he hung on the back of Khun’s chair. I knew they were talking about me. They always talked about me . . . when they thought I couldn’t hear them.
Slowly, I reached over and pressed the button on the arm of my seat, turning the music that was blaring through my expensive headphones down.
   Now I could hear everything.
“Is he still acting pissy?” Junho complained.
“I don’t know . . . I think he’s upset about something.” Wooyoung said, laying his cheek on the back of Nichkhun’s seat in boredom.
“He’s always upset about something.” Khun chimed in, reaching behind him to ruffle Wooyoung’s hair.
“He can’t still be mad about last week . . .” Junho mumbled.
“You know how he is . . . Su can stay mad for a long time.” Taec said. “You know he’s still upset with you-know-who.”
I cringed, closing my eyes and feigning sleep.
‘You-know-who’ I snorted to myself. He has a name . . . of epic proportions. I would flinch no matter what you called him.
“Well he pretty much ed that relationship up, so . . . in my book, he has no right to be mad.” Wooyoung said, earning a punch in the arm from Junho. “I’m just saying!” He defended himself.
“Well stop saying.” I opened my eyes when I heard Chansung speak up, almost growling. “All of you drop it . . . now.”
If I wasn’t so annoyed, I would have smiled at him. “It’s alright, Chansung.” I said, pulling my headphones off and smirking at how quickly all if their faces turned red. “No harm done, right?”
Wooyoung sat back in his chair, nearly hiding his face from me.
“The next time you guys decide to have a conversation about me,” I eyed every one of them. “Just make sure I’m not sitting three rows away from you.”
Maybe I just had impeccable timing, or maybe the captian had sensed my furious desire to get off this god forsaken plane, but just then, the captians intercom went off and a voice rang through the cabin of the plane.
‘We are now arriving at Incheon International, please take your seats, fasten your seatbelts and thank you for flying Korean Air.’
I sat back in my seat, closing my eyes as the plane landed.
We all left the plane in single file, taking our own carryon bags and following our manager out to where a car waited for us.
As usual, a wall of screaming girls with cameras almost his us when went through the doors of the airport. Junho  pulled his hood over his now fiery red hair and walked up to my side. “Whoa, there’s a lot of people today.” He still acted nervous and scared whenever fans were around.
“Just keep walking,” I muttered under my breath, following the others. “Unless you wanna get stuck here signing autographs.”
He blinked at me and walked faster.
I tucked my hands in my pockets, putting my headphones back on and pushing my glasses up as I pushed my way through my band mates, determined to be the first one to the car.
Thankfully, our driver was smart and parked our van as close as possible to the door.
I had learned to ignore the countless girls screaming my name when I needed too. Sometimes I felt bad, I would hear a fan gasp my name and beg me to look at them . . . when I didn’t, it wouldn’t be surprising to see hear them sobbing. But no matter what I was feeling, no matter if I was happy or wanted to disappear from the world. When I was out in the public, I smiled.
I paused when I got to the car, glancing back at the line of fan girls with a fake smirk and raised my hand, waving cheerfully.
   They all screamed.
Always so easily pleased . . . I got in the car, sliding over to the seat in the very back and waited for the rest of the band.
“Happy to be home?” Chansung asked me as he sat next to me, shoving his small carryon bag between his knees as the car started to move . . . slowly, due to the dozens of fans surrounding us.
I glanced at him and shrugged.
“We should celebrate tonight~” He smirked.
“PARTY!” Taec turned around in his seat. “I’m down with that, yo!” I stared at his big smile and rolled my eyes. Dork.
“Do you always have to talk like that?” I asked, crossing my arms. “You sound so unintelligent.”
He laughed the same way he always did when I insulted him. “What’s wrong old man? Afraid you might lose your dentures in a drunken stupor?”
“Idiot.” I glared out the window.
“Yah” Our manager yelled from the front seat. “You guys have been next to each other for all of one minute and you’re already fighting.”
Taec pointed his finger at me, blinking. “He started it!”
“No one’s going out tonight,” Mr. Manager said. “You have guests staying at the dorm for the next few days, remember?”
Oh, right. I sighed and had completely forgotten that our ‘brother band’ was coming to stay with us while we filmed a TV episode with a couple of them.
Junho squeaked in chorus with Wooyoung, both of them bouncing in their seats like children. “Kwonnieeeee~”
I rolled my eyes, grumbling to myself, leaning against the window.
“What’s wrong hyung?” Chansung rested his head on my shoulder. “You and Seulong get alone, right?” He whispered to me.
I nodded. The rest of the guys were cool. I wasn't very close with them but I didn’t mind their presence.
   But Jo Kwon was different.
He was . . . flamboyant. To the point where no matter where you were, all eyes were on him. That I didn’t mind, in fact, I appreciated his willingness to steal the spotlight so I didn’t have to be bothered with it. But he was also very physical and that’s what made me cringe around him.
I snorted, remembering how long it had taken Junho to warm up to Jo Kwon. When they first met, Kwon was hanging on Taecyeon and complimenting him on his masculine shoulders. But after a while, even Junho started to like him. Maybe it was the guy’s crazy charisma? I didn’t know. But I tried to avoid him as much as possible.
Chansung had fallen asleep and I wiggled as the weight of his head made my shoulder fall asleep. I wanted to be home, in my room, at my laptop, in the dark, away from everything.
When we finally got to the dorm – our new dorm – everyone was beyond eager to get out the car. I followed behind everyone as we made our way into the elevator that led straight to the hallway outside our front door.
After we debuted, Jin-Young hyung had decided that we needed a bigger space. So we moved to our new apartment. It was closer to the JYP building, which was great since we spent most of our time in Seoul there. We also had bigger bedrooms – though we still shared.
For obvious reasons, Taecyeon and I were no longer roommates. He stayed with Junho . . . unless Junho was going through one of his emotional fits where everything Taec did made him cry and throw a tantrum, then Taec stayed with Nichkhun and Wooyoung took the giant’s place as the emperor’s roommate.
Which meant I roomed with Maknae.
It didn’t bother me at all.
Chansung was an easy person to get along with. He didn’t bother me with taking my stuff. I didn’t have to worry about walking in on , like I often would with Taec. Most of all, Maknae knew when to shut the hell up and leave me alone, he was even comforting sometimes.
Everyone was used to the Hwang Chansung that they knew on variety shows and at concerts; the lovable Maknae that always goofed around and make weird faces while laughing with his hyungs. The same when for all of us in the band. We had a part to play and we played it well . . . but few people knew what we were like when the camera’s are off.
I pushed past everyone when the elevator doors opened, pulling out my keys to unlock the door. Before I could even turn the lock, the door opened up and a familiar face smiled at all of us. I closed my eyes, trying to act surprised and excited.
“It’s about time!” the small boy in front of us said, hitting me playfully on my shoulder. “I’ve been waiting in apartment for hours.”
“Jo Kwon-ah!” Taec said, pushing me aside and grabbing the smaller boys’s head in a headlock.
“Aish! Yah! Hyung, stoppit!” Kwon fought against Taecyeon in vain. When Taec released the boy, Kwon was rubbing the back of his neck. “Yahhh!” He dragged out his words like an old woman. “That hurt!” He hissed, giving a pout before he was distracted by Junho and Wooyoung, who practically jumped him in a group hug.
I blinked at the sight and went to my room, trying to ignore the overly done laughter someone from the hallway. I opened the door to my room and froze at the figure sprawled out on Chansung’s bed.
Changmin sat up, reaching for his t-shirt. “Junsu.” He smiled at me. “It’s been a while.”
I forced a smile, nodding. “Yeah.” I looked around the room, anywhere but his bare chest.
“Sungie said that I could sleep in his bed while I’m here,” He explained himself, standing up and looking down at me. “Is that okay? I can sleep on the couch if you want.”
I sighed, truly not wanting to be a , and shook my head. “It’s fine . . . I’m gonna shower.”
“Dongsaeng,” His voice stopped me when I turned to go to the bathroom. I looked back at him. “You look good. Healthier, I mean.” He said, sitting back on Chansung’s bed.
I couldn’t help but blush, even though it was almost invisible. Few people had the nerve to actually come out and compliment me on my appearance like that. It’d been so long since I’d seen him, I’d forgotten how bold he was . . . it was a great distraction from bull.

To be continued . . .

Just to clear a few things up. I know that I kinda left a lot of things unexplained, many of which will be explained with the new coming chapters but I think I should just let you all know exactly how far the time of this story has jumped.
If you notice, Jaebum isn't anywhere in this chapter....that's because Jay is no longer in the band. (I know, it hurts, I'm sorry *sobs*)
The story is now in the "Hand's Up" era, and if any of you have watched "2PM Show" you'll notice that Jo Kwon and Seulong make a guest appearence for one of the episodes, hence their appearence in this fic.
Anyway, until next update <3333 please keep commenting and please keep reading i <3 you all

ps. I'll also be updating the foreward with new characters/added discription as the story progresses. almost like adding introductions to new and pivotal parts of the story. I hope you like it.
