There are good days and bad days in life. Whichever the way Lu Han tries to maintain his happy-go-lucky attitude despite the extremely frenzied nature of his job.

But sometimes bad days are just bad. No matter how much you try the gloominess remains as it is. For the worse sometimes these bad days choose to be awful.

Like today.

A train accident.

The day of the SM general had only been started when they got the news that a train accident has happened in a subway. The whole hospital turned into a frantic state within moments, expecting large number casualties, being the nearest hospital from the place that accident occurred.

Within five minutes hospital was started to flood with crying, mourning, bleeding, dying, unconscious patients. They all needed help in many ways from simple superficial stitches to deep organ surgeries to close up ruptures.

Dr. Lu Han has no exception.

He just finished four emergency surgeries and did his best moving on. But he is feeling not well, really uncomfortable.

Lu Han gags, feeling bile rising up his throat, mixing with the morning coffee he had. From the morning he tried his best to help patients, ignoring the discomfort he had, but with each passing seconds it grew. He wonders whether it has to do something with filling his empty stomach with a coffee but he didn’t have an appetite to begin with.

“Dr. Lu, we have a girl with a head trauma, fully conscious but bleeding”

A shout from a nurse brings Lu Han back to the world. He turns on his heels, taking his steps faster, ignoring the dull pain coming up from his abdomen and reaches a crying girl who has blood gushing out from her head.

“It’s okay sweetie, let’s get you cleaned up and you gonna be okay”

Lu Han starts checking her pupils and inspect the wound. As he starts to clean the wound he realizes it’s a superficial wound. The little girl is scared and in pain. Lu Han stitches her wound up, saying calming and soothing words to little girl. With his sweet smile he offers a candy to the girl. It’s good he has an endless candy supply in his pockets.

“CT is needed. The wound is superficial but she might have hit her head. Where is her mother? Someone should monitor her.”

Lu Han asks the nurse who is helping him. She says her mother is there, patching up a minor wound on her leg. Lu Han looks around to find an intern. It seems no one is available at all. The whole ground floor like a bee comb with humans scattered here and there, buzzing in every inch. Lu Han’s pager is going crazy with the requests coming non-stop.

 “Attention please! Dr. Lu Han please report to the OR 03.Dr. Lu Han please report to the OR 03.

Lu Han immediately starts heading to the OR, ignoring the pain in his abdomen. But it is getting harder with each step he makes. Placing his hand on the tummy, Lu Han squeezes the abdominal muscles, biting his lip. Feeling so nauseated doesn’t help at all.

As the urge he has to vomit doesn’t stop nagging him, Lu Han barges into a wash room. Lucky there is no one at this hour because of the code red situation in the hospital. Holding his golden brown bangs back, Lu Han lets out the brown color liquid spitting all over the white marble sink, barely holding his weight on his shaky knees. His eyes are stinging, tears gathering.

After puking his gut out, Lu Han turns the faucet on to wash the offending debris down the drainage.  Cleaning his mouth, he washes his face and stares at his own reflection from the mirror.

He looks pale and tired.

Lu Han let out a painful cry as a stinging pain pulses, cramping his lower abdomen fully. He grasped his aching side of the abdomen bending. Crouching down to the tiled floor Lu Han bites his lower lip harder to the point the plump flesh gets torn and bleeds.

Loss of appetite, Nausea, abdominal pain, lower abdominal cramps…

His eyes widens in realization. He moans in frustration.

“Oh my god ! Today out of all the days? Just great ! Oh just great!”

Lu Han grits his teeth as he stands up. He has barely made it to the corridor back when he hears the announcement requesting his presence in the OR 3. Lu Han feels his eyes welling up with each pang twisting his entire gut. But he musters the courage to walk because he knows he needs medical assistant as soon as possible. Lu Han can feel his temperature rising up.

“Dr Lu, you are needed in… Oh my god! Are you alright?”

Nurse Byun literally leaps, closing the distant just from two steps to where Lu Han is standing, half bending down. He holds Lu Han, wrapping his arm around his shoulders.

“Baek, I think I have appendicitis.”

Lu Han’s feeble voice comes out shakily. Baekhyun can feel the warmth radiating from the pale doctor’s sweaty body. Lu Han is burning up.

He assists Lu Han to walk into the nearest room they can reach. Lu Han is obviously in too much pain to handle.

Lying on his back on the hospital bed of an empty room, Lu Han whimpers in pain. It’s throbbing and rising and Lu Han really wants it to stop. But still Nurse Byun is unable to put his hands on any doctor, not even to get Lu Han to a CT or an MRI because of the chaotic state
