Chapter 13

“What happened?” Junjin asked drowsily, sitting up on the bed. “Where am I? Did we win?” he looked at each shocked face, demanding answers, and heard the annoying bleeps of his monitor. “Hyung?” he turned to Hyesung.

They were all speechless, even though Junjin had been awake for hours. It was just hard to believe after all the bad news they had received that their other maknae was wide awake, Junjin having no clue of what had happened after his failed attempt of thumbling.

“They cancelled the filming once you…hit your head.” Minwoo explained.

Junjin seemed really disappointed.

“We were winning…” he sighed, pouting fiercely.

Eric couldn’t stop noticing how much Hyesung was glaring at him. What had he done now? There was no reason for him to be glowered at like that; especially since Kangta was there witnessing everything. Aish, Hyesung should have been focusing on the baby bird and not on the leader.

“Andy?” Junjin’s voice suddenly rose. “ANDY!?” as if forgetting something had happened to him, Junjin extended his arms and pulled the maknae into his arms. “ANDY ANDY ANDYYYYYYYYYYY!” The youngest member gasped, not receiving air, as he hugged the other guy back and smiled. “ARE YOU BACK FOR REAL!!?” Junjin rubbed his eyes.

“I am.” Andy replied.

Junjin’s adorable eyes were teary as he leered at the awkward baby of Shinhwa and didn’t let go of his hand. Kangta stared at them, grinning widely, before he excused himself and exited the room. Hyesung exhaled annoyed, but quietly enough for no one to hear, and felt despair when Eric followed him after hugging Junjin once more.

“Chilhyun ah,” others had returned to the dorm, but Hyesung had gone to the sauna with the ex-HOT member. “Why did you come to the hospital today? For real?” he tried.

Kangta chuckled, folding his pants to the chair and said, “I told you. Chung Jae is my friend from high school. I wanted to come and see him.”

Hyesung felt something was hidden underneath that smile. He could see it from Kangta’s eyes. The older man had been down ever since HOT had disbanded. Alcohol had been his best friend for so long that Hyesung hadn’t known he could get rid of it. Kangta seemed genuinely happy.

“Are you sure?” the other main vocalist questioned. “It seemed to me as if…you…and Eric…” why did he sound so scared?”
