District 10: What Lovely Lips You Have, MiladyHan did not intend for the rope to snap two thirds of the way. She should've asked Jiyong how old the piece of rope was before they applied both of their weights on it. Because of that tiny mistake, it might have just killed them.
"WE'RE GOING TO DIE!" Han screeched as they were forced to watch each tendril slowly snap under the increasing pressure. She clung onto Jiyong tighter and buried her head into his chest because she did not wish to see them fall to their deaths.
Jiyong grunted and pulled Han in closer as he used their momentum to swing themselves towards the branches instead of slamming heads-on into the wide tree trunk. Sounds of cracking and snapping filled her ears as Han felt the force of gravity yanking them back towards Earth in the pit of her stomach. The two were jostled every which way as they continued descending past the unforgiving evergreen branches until a final thud knocking the breath out of their lungs announced the arrival of firm ground beneath their beaten backs.
Surpriskngly, Han didn't feel as much pain as she assumed it would and slowly cracked open one eye to survey the damage. There was a clear pathway from the top of the treeline to where they currently lay, allowing the early morning rays to penetrate through the dimness. She coughed a few times to get some oxygen coursing into her lungs again and turned to her left where Jiyong resided only to see him out cold.
