The Dead Wayfarers 2In a small hut-like tent, Howon pointed to the top bunk on the only bunk bed. It was made out of wood and the mattresses were white yet rough ones. Green blankets were folded near the feet of each mattresses with a white small pillow.
"You can sleep up there. It was my bed but you can have it." Howon said looking into Seungho's eyes. Dongwoo was standing at the door with his hands gripping onto the top of the door's entrance and his arms swing him a little.
Seungho examined the beds and noticed two mattresses on the bottom bunk. He took a step forward as they look at him, Seungho lifted the first mattress and began pulling it out. Howon stopped him by pushing his body against it. "Hey, what are you doing?"
Seungho looked into Howon's dark eyes, "I'm going to sleep on the floor."
"W-why?" Howon asked, slightly confused. Seungho turned back to the top bunk and then back to the latter's curious eyes.
"I'm afraid of heights." Seungho bluntly stated, Howon didn't know how to react. Instead he allowed Seungho to continue pulling the first set out, Dongwoo who stood by the door just watch quietly.
Seungho pushed the mattress to one corner of the room and lie down. Dongwoo and Howon was now standing together overlooking him. "You forgot the bed spread, pillow, and blank-"
Seungho exhaled heavily and shut his eyes, "I don't need any of that."
Howon and Dongwoo exchange a quick look then left, shaking their heads.
When night came, Dongwoo and Howon came in after washing up and saw Seungho leaning against the wall while resting on the bed. Seungho was reading a book from Dongwoo's messy stack of random books. Dongwoo walked over and sat on the bottom bunk as Howon climbed onto the top bunk and tuck himself in. "You like to read?" Dongwoo asked, Seungho shut the book and lowered it from his gaze.
"You don't?"
Dongwoo smiled, "Certain genres only. I can't read horror. I'm not a fan of ghosts and supernatural."
"Then how are you dealing with reality?"
Dongwoo's smile faded when the friendly beginning turned into a serious conversation, "I get by okay."
Seungho heaved a heavy breath of exhaustion and placed the book aside. Dongwoo watched as Seungho folded his arms and shut his eyes, but remained sitting and leaning against the wall.
"102294, since we're going to be a trio for the time being, how about sharing some times among ourselves?" Howon asked from the top bunk. Dongwoo nodded with agreement and smiled, flashing his white teeth toward Seungho.
"That's a great idea Howon."
Howon sighed and sat up, "I'll go first then. I used to live in Busan and was recruited by WWIV when I was having a dance battle on the streets. I have parents and has an older brother, who's all dead now. Luckily I was part of WWIV, they took me in and gave me clothes, food, and shelter."
Dongwoo began immediately after Howon was done, "Hm, and I'm the only child. My parents are at the main building. I used to teach students how to dance, that's how I met Howon. I was a member of this organization since I entered College, but-"
"We'll skip the friendly introductions." Seungho cut him off as he fixed his gaze on the latter, "It sound like you two are thankful for being here."
Dongwoo nodded blankly as Howon rest his head on a hand and looked down at Seungho. "Of course, if we were out there who knows? We could have been dead by now. Why would you ask such a thing, are you not thankful?" Howon asked.
Seungho looked from Dongwoo to Howon, "To the organization that tore my crew apart, if you were me, would you be thankful?"
Howon and Dongwoo didn't understand his question nor concerns. "What do you mean?" Dongwoo asked bluntly.
Seungho thought to explain but remembering he was in WWIV, he decided not to, "Nothing."
"102294, if there's something you want to share then tell us. We don't want you to look down on WWIV." Howon explained. Seungho looked from their gazes again and sighed quietly to himself.
This won't do. I'm still in enemy territory.
Seungho lowered Irene down as she had fallen asleep, as he rest her on the bed reached over for spare blanket on the side of Dongwoo's bed and covered Irene's small body with it.
Seungho stepped outside and saw a lot of people talking, drinking, laughing, and walking around. In front of him was a wide open field with hundreds of tanned-brown tents and a few larger tents where food were serve and some little business that sell goods.
Seungho was walking down a less crowded area when two arms wrapped around him from behind, stopping him dead in his muddy tracks. "You're finally alone." The female's voice said
