The Dead Wayfarers 2Seungho's team followed behind him as Sergeant Cha and Woobin showed him around. "There are only a certain floors you're allowed to enter freely, the other floors are private floors. Until boss decided that you're trustworthy enough and can freely wander the whole building. Otherwise don't recklessly roam around on the fifth floor up. However, underground are two floors, you must stay out until you've been in this building for more than two months."
Then outside, in which the whole area was now a clearer image in Seungho's eyes, was a spread out lot.
To his far left, he could see the road with gravel and rocks, the only road he's seen for the past months he's been here. Then he could see the high walls that kept the camp locked away in a different section of the wider area. He could see the fences that kept the dead wayfarers out, as they headed toward the back of the building, there were a majority of people still making a living in a city.
Seungho could see the blocks of neighborhood, people, cars, and some children were still going to school. "Here is where most of the guards live and some who can afford to pay for rent and still make a living. We wanted to keep humanity and freedom, so this is what our leader has created." Sergeant Cha explained.
Seungho wanted to laugh at his fantasies.
Pay rent? Afford freedom? Humanity?
For sure all's been lost when the dead wayfarers invaded planet Earth.
Seungho could hear Subin and Serri, the woman he's first met today, chattering as they looked at the motion picture in front of them. Except it wasn't exactly like a picture, it was a fantasy world that still exist in order to remind everyone what live used to be like.
Woobin and Sergeant Cha stood a little to the front of the whole team, Seungho was getting tired of seeing what was an amusing sight to him. So he decided to continue the tour, leading it this time. Howon and Dongwoo noticed him leaving and hurried after, Woobin and Sergeant Cha exchanged a short glance before sighing and following close behind. Subin and Serri too followed.
To the far right from the entrance was a high mountain, Seungho could see some wayfarers moving about at the top. Woobin led them back into the building and into a larger room. "Leader said you and your team can stay in here for now, and when he feel like it, he would move you out into the city."
Seungho looked around the room, it had three bunkbeds, a lounging area, a table for six, and some bean bags.
"We'll be leaving now and we'll be locking the door until your first gather. Afterwards you're free to use the first, second, third, and fourth floors." Sergeant Cha and Woobin shut the door and locked it as they stepped outside.
The only window was beside the door, with the hallway on the other side. The windows to the outside was blocked with metal and black ink. Howon and Dongwoo jumped onto the two top of the bunkbeds while Subin and Serri took the two bottom ones.
"Seungho, take this bunk."
Seungho turned around and saw Subin pointing to the bottom bun closest to the door while she sat in the center one, with Dongwoo on top. All eyes were on Seungho as they settled down in their chosen beds. Seungho looked at them one by one.
"What?" He asked in a low tone.
"We're waiting for you to pick your bed Captain." Dongwoo said with a happy salute. Seungho looked from Dongwoo to Subin. Seungho disliked how close each bunkbeds were to each other, there was just a little crack in each, but one can basically reached an arm over and half of their arm would be on the other bed.
"Go to sleep, I'll sleep when I feel like it." Seungho said, wanting to avoid choosing.
"But which bed-?" Subin was about to ask again but Seungho pulled out a chair until the back of it hit against the wall, then he sat on it, folding his arms. Seungho lean back and shut his eyes as he also rested his shoes on the table.
The four just watched quietly. Howon pursed his lips before pulling the covers over him, Dongwoo decided to do the same. Serri, who wasn't familiar with Seungho, got in as well and cover herself. Subin was the only one who kept her eyes on him, worrying about him, hoping he'd choose to sleep in the bunk beside her.
When the rest of the team woke up, they noticed Seungho was no longer in the room. The door was locked and they figured he's been taken out for some business matters. They found some cardboard games and cards in a small closet across from the table. The four found themselves playing poker in the end.
"You want that child in the main building as well?" The leader asked. Seungho hummed at that.
"I was the one who took her in and under your kindness she was allowed to stay in the camp. Now that I'm here I'm sure she has no one back at the camp, she may be lonely and afraid." Seungho said, the man chuckled.
"Alright! Since there's one bed left as you mentioned, I'll allow her to stay in the main building. However, if she goes anywhere
