CHAPTER 2

On the same night at Kim Soohyun Mansion

Kibum was lying on his back while starring at his room ceiling like it was the most interesting thing at that moment, when he heard someone is entering his room, he shifted his eyes from the ceiling to that intruder..

“bummie..i just wanted to tell you something, before you make any decision” his father slowly invite himself to enter his room.

As Soohyun settled himself on his son’s bed, kibum instantly wrapped his slim hands around his father waist with his head on his father lap and his face is facing his father toned abs, Eventhough it was covered with clothes. Soohyun let out a small chuckle, seeing how adorable his son could be. He let out a long sigh while caressing the younger head lovingly.

“if i had a choice, i would want you to marry the person you love..” again he sighed, this arrangement thing was also hard for him, he only wanted his son to be happy..not being forced into this arrangement

Kibum could only listen to his father continuos sigh,

i like jonghyun..but he didn’t

“but this was your grandmother last wish, you knew how bad i was, before.. i just wanted to grant her last wish” Soohyun’s tears silently make their way on his cheeks, reminiscing the old day..

Kibum was oblivious of his father tears, slowly looks up to say something, but stopped instantly as he saw his father blooshot and teary eyes.

“dad..” kibum sat up and pulled his father into a tight hug, not wanting the older to cry

“i’m sorry, it’s just that i missed her..” kibum caressed his father’s back soflty, letting the latter knows that he’s not alone.

“dad..i will marry jonghyun” hearing himself, kibum couldn’t help but to shudder a bit..never in a million years he thought that jonghyun are going to be his husband. He did imagined that, but the things right now are completely different from what he had imagined.

Soohyun who are still crying, pulled away from the hug “bummie, i’m sorry that it had to be you..i wish i could do something to change it” once again his tears rolled down to his cheeks, guilt are filling his chest.

“dad..it’s okay, besides, jjong is my friend..we could work this arrangement out” kibum is assuring his father but truthfully, he was assuring himself. He silently hoped that jonghyun will take this arrangement not in bad way.

Kibum loves his father so much, he would do anything to make the older happy including marrying jonghyun, who currently in love with someone else. He was sorry towards jonghyun, but his father happiness are his priority at this moment.

Then a soft footstep are making their way towards them, kibum and his father instantly smiling, recognizing the soft footsteps of their queen. Yeon U was listening to their conversation. When her husband start to cry, she also silently cry with him. Understanding her husband heartache. As a mother, she also felt useless not being able to do anything to stop this marriage.

“bummie, i know you are doing this because of your dad..but i swear, if Jonghyun hurts you in any way..you’re coming back to us! At least we already fulfill your grandmother last wish..” kibum eyes went wide at his mother harsh tone.

Not only kibum was suprised, but Soohyun also. As far as he knows, Yeon U are very delicate and feminine type of woman, but never in his life hearing that tone coming out from his wife.

“i’m not going to let my son being hurt, when i’m his mother, had never hurt him!” Yeon U is well aware of her husband and son’s startled face, but she couldn’t care less of that.

“mom..i’m going to be okay, don’t worry..now i know how much you love me.” with that, kibum stands up and approach his mother to pull the woman tightly in his arms.

“of course, i love you.” Yeon U burried her face in his son’s chest..hearing the steady hearbeat of her bummie. She was not joking about things she said earlier, Jonghyun will be given one chance to make her bummie happy, Just.One.

“hey, he is my son too..and i’m going to kick his if he dared to hurt my son” feeling left out, his father walks towards them and gently wrapped his hand around them.

“dad, i’m a man too..i can kick him myself if he hurts me” kibum muffled voice earns a big laugh and a faint ‘my son is totally a diva’ from his father.

Yesul could only shook her head watching her son slammed the door after getting out from the room.

“Mom? Did you know about this?” jonghyun trying hard to calm down, to prevent himself from lashing out his anger to his mother, He loves her too much to hurt her.

“yes..”

“so, am i the only one who dosen’t know?” yesul could only nodded to answer her angry son, not wanting to add fuel into the flame. Jonghyun pinch the bridge of his nose, trying to calm himself.

“mom, you know i love jessica..i can’t marry kibum!” he let out the last part, harsher than he intended to.

“you already said yes to your father, besides we know what are the best for you” Yesul resist the urge to smack jonghyun head, why would he choose that rude girl over kibum? Kibum are ten times better than jessica.

“I know what are the best for me and it’s certainly didn’t include kibum” with that, jonghyun walk away from his mother, headed to his room.

“you don’t know that, son.” Yesul said in low voice, and jonghyun was too far from her to hear that. Yesul silently hoped that jonghyun didn’t waste this opportunity, kibum is way too good for her son. She knows her son loves kibum, but typical jonghyun who are oblivious at the fact.

Taemin almost popped his eyes out hearing the news from his cousin. There is no way kibum is getting married before him. Kibum was the one in the million, who he thought that would never get married. Why? because everytime a girl or a boy asked him out, he’ll never accept them. Kibum life for the past 22 years are filled with family and work only, No boyfriends or girlfriend. And today kibum told the younger that he’s getting married to Kim Jonghyun.

‘The Kim Jonghyun’ is the richest and the hottest bachelor in korea.

“taemin, that’s gross..shut your mouth” of course, the younger didn’t realize that his mouth was hanging open. It was definitely gross, since taemin still had some bit of food in his mouth.

“Hyung? you’re not joking with me right now, right?” for the umpteenth time the younger asked while starting to eat his lunch again.

“Of course, i’m joking with you even though you know that i will never joked about this thing” kibum sarcastically replied the younger, regretting his choice to told the younger.

Before taemin could answer, a deep voice suddenly interrupt their ‘discussion’

“sorry i’m late” minho naturally sitting down next to taemin and pecked the younger lips before settling on his own seat. Taemin and minho ignores the faint squeal behind them, knowing they must be the older male's fans. 

Kibum could only rolled his eyes seeing the two lovebirds, being with them for a year. Kibum was used to their affection. They always eats lunch together, and sometimes minho couldn't join kibum and taemin.

“so..why the long face, diva?” minho as usual try to irritate the slightly older male

“shut it, frog-face..i’m not in mood” kibum intentionally used the nickname that minho hated the most.

“minho, did you know that bummie hyung is getting married?” taemin innocently asked

‘innocent my , of course he didn’t know...i’ve only told you just now!’ kibum scolded taemin mentally, scrunching his nose a bit, still annoyed at the younger.

Unfortunately for minho, at that time he was chugging his drink down to his throat..hearing that, he instantly spit out the drink on the table, earning a squeal from taemin and a glare from kibum.

“minho..you’re disgusting!” taemin slaps his boyfriend arms, because unfortunately for taemin too, the drink also landed a bit on his shirt.

“nice job frog-face, there goes my appetite.” Kibum being sarcastic once again.

Minho grabbed the tissue and wiped his mouth. He cannot be blamed at this, he was too shocked by the news. Who would think The Diva will get married?

“it’s not my fault, who told you to joke about that”

“i’m not joking” taemin starred at his boyfriend, simply nodded when his boyfriend looked at him like he was an alien.

“and guess who the lucky husband to-be?” the younger was excited to tell his boyfriend, wanting to laugh at his boyfriend shocked face.

“taemin, minho could die from heart attack..you should stop” kibum let out a long sigh while narrowing his eyes at the younger, knowing the younger little scheme.

“Kim Jonghyun!” taemin ignored kibum’s warning and getting the shocked expression from his boyfriend. Minho eyes almost popped out from his head, Kim Jonghyun?

Taemin on the other side, laughing like there’s no tomorrow and muttering something like ‘you are totally belongs to frog family’. Minho narrowed his eyes at his childlish boyfriend.. taemin knows exactly he hated the ‘frog’ words, the younger laugh, instantly stopped.

“well, isn’t someone is getting punished today?” taemin let minho’s question goes unanswered, only looking at the ground

‘the plan is working' taemin resist the urge to smile, afraid his boyfriend could sense his dirty plan.

“kibum, we’re going to talk about this later..taemin is being naughty today” with that, minho grabbed the younger hand and walk away to the nearest bathroom. Taemin is smirking while he was being dragged. (A/N : I don’t need to spell it out to you guys on what they’re going to do right? ^^)

“Taemin, you little sly kitten! You wanted minho to get angry, don’t you?” kibum mumbling the last words, not wanting anyone to hear but himself.
After the two lovebirds went away to do their ‘things’, kibum was left alone in the restaurant, his eyes started to wonder around the restaurant. There’s a scene that caught his eyes, at the corner of the restaurant, there was a guy and a girl. The guy is kneeling before his girlfriend with his head hanging low, preventing kibum to see his face. Kibum couldn’t help but curious, of how the guy looks like, but then the said man stand up . It was like the guy was hearing kibum’s thought. Kibum took the chance to get the better view of the guy face but as soon as he saw the guy, Kibum felt his heart froze in that second.

Earlier

Jonghyun was questioning himself, how to break the news to jessica? Knowing jessica, she wouldn’t took this very well. Who would?

He runs his hand harshly over his well-styled hair, frustrated at the whole things. He couldn’t help but to hate kibum a bit, if the younger didn’t accept this arrangement, then he wouldn’t have to face this kind of situation.

Kibum was indeed beautiful, even a blind man could see it but his heart already has it’s owner, he loves jessica wholeheartedly. There’s no place for anyone to break through it (or so he thought).

“Oppa~” a sweet high-picthed voice was heard, erasing all of his thought of kibum

“hey,babe” jonghyun smiled as she pecked his lips before sitting down in front of him.

“so, what did you want to tell me?” jessica let out her mirror and re-apply her lipstick, absolutely oblivious to what jonghyun want to say.

“um, let’s eat first” jonghyun wanted to dely the time as long as he can, considering the girl wouldn’t want to talk to him after he told her.

“okay” with that they chatted happily like always. Jonghyun was lost in his thought, thinking how to break this thing without hurting his girl

“pa..Oppa!” jessica shook her boyfriend hands, wanting to get his attention

“what?”

“did you hear what i told you, just now?” jonghyun bit his lips, of course he didn’t..he was thinking.

“ugh, forget it..by the way, what did you want to tell me?” jessica shrugged off her boyfriend weird behaviour

Oh, crap!

“i........” he stops for awhile, trying to gather up his courage

“you?” jessica curiously adds.

“look, whatever i’m going to tell you..you need to hear me from the beginning to the end, you cannot interrupt. Promise?”

“okay, p-promise!” she sighed before answering it

“i’m getting married!” there...he said it, but too quickly as if the marriage was his plan.

“WHAT?” jessica shouted, earning a few weird glances from the other customer

“jess, listen-”

“well, congratulations then..who’s the lucky girl? I guess she wasn’t me because i know, i’m not getting married!” with sarcasm laced her voice, she tried to walked away but was stopped by jonghyun.

“jess, listen to me first, you promised!” jonghyun was about to cry hearing his girlfriend harsh voice

“why would i? Jonghyun, i thought you love me..but no,” jessica also in verge to cry

“i love you, jess but it was my father..he arranged my marriage with the son’s of his friend” jonghyun kneeled before his girlfriend, hoping the girl would believe him

“what? So you can't reject it?” jessica folds her hand

“i can’t, if i didn’t marry him..my father wanted me to leave the house, without taking any cent from him” jonghyun explained, he trusted his girlfriend with his life.

Jessica keep quite for awhile.. then she asked jonghyun to stand up, so he did.

“so what are you gonna do? You wanted to break up?”

“no! Of course not..i love you babe, not him” jonghyun quickly denied the break up, he cannot let jessica go just like that.

“then? What do you want me to do? Watching you and him happily married?” jessica voice came out hoarse, clearly showed that she was holding her tears.

“i’m not going to be happy with him, just give me a year..i will divorce him after that, i’m sure my father already transfer everything to me by that time” jonghyun is hundred percent sure that he wasn’t going to fall in love with kibum.

Jessica resists the urge to smirk, She couldn’t let her plans go to waste like this. If he wants a year, then she will wait. “what if i miss you? You know a year wasn’t a short time”

“then, we can always met..nothing are going to stop us from keeping in touch” jonghyun smiled, jessica was willing to wait for him..then everything will go accorrding to his plan.

“Promise Oppa?” jessica is one of the girl, who are willing to do anything to get what they wanted. Whether it is good or bad.

“promise..” jonghyun then, leaned closer towards jessica and crushing their lips together.

Kibum didn’t know how long he been starring at the two lovebirds, but he snapped back into reality as he saw they kissed, a sharp pain went through his heart. Eventhough, he didn’t hear their conversation but he knows that, they weren’t in a bad term anymore, the kiss said it all.

‘he was not mine to begin with, it’s okay kibum.. your father are more important’ kibum persuaded himself mentally. He slowly pushed the chair to stand up, but his knees choose that moment to stop working, he was waiting to meet the cold floor, but instead of cold floor..he felt something warm wrapping his waist, his back was supported by strong chest, preventing him from an embarrasing fall. He instantly turn around, wanted to see the source of that warmth. He was greeted by the pair of familiar brown orbs, and a smiling chestnut-haired guy

“hello there, bum bum” said the man Kibum felt like he was dreaming, the guy in front of him were different from the guy he saw five years ago.

“bum bum?” the man looks instantly changed from happy to worry.

“j-jinki hyung?” only then kibum managed to find his voice Jinki once again flashing his sweet smile, that could make everyone swung.

“oh my god, it’s you!” kibum excitedly lunged towards the older, hugging the older boy, tightly Jinki is also a cousin and a very good friend of kibum, the younger would tell him everything including his little crush on jonghyun. The older had always stayed by his side whenever jonghyun do something to upset the younger (not intentionally, Of course).

“i missed you, so much!” kibum once again shouted, earning a glance from the other customer, jinki could only bowed a little, asking the customer silently to understand them. But kibum didn’t realize, his shout was heard by the two lovebirds, he was watching earlier.

Jonghyun shifted his gaze from jessica to the familiar bubbly voice, only to see his fiance-to-be and an unfamiliar man hugging too close for his liking, Jonghyun felt his stomach churn looking at them, he was close to lose his temper, when an excited voice interrupt him

“Omo, that’s lee jinki..the famous singer!” jessica bounced excitedly on her seats, earning a frown from jonghyun

A singer?

“Oppa, don’t tell me you don’t know him?” jonghyun could only nodded, indicating that he have no idea who lee jinki is.

“He is Lee Jinki, or Onew..he’s an idol! Oppa, in what area did you live? How could you didn’t know him?” jessica nagged at his boyfriend.

Jonghyun couldn’t care less about what Lee Jinki work is. He wanted to know what kind of relationship Lee Jinki had with his fiance-to-be. It dosen’t seem like friendship to him

“who is that boy?” jessica asked,

Oh, right..she dosen’t know kibum

“he is so beautiful, if onew are dating him..i absolutely had no objection!” jessica adds

Dating? Too bad he was going to be mine!

Jonghyun shook his head strongly, cursing himself mentally. Of course kibum could date whoever he wants, But deep inside jonghyun knew that he didn’t like the idea of kibum seeing another man besides him. Jonghyun quickly shove off that thought right away.

“Oppa! You’re spacing out once again” jessica folded her arms, annoyed when her boyfriend ignored her

“i was just thinking, if he that famous. Why i’ve never seen him on TV?” jonghyun had to lie, well..he couldn’t tell her that he was thinking of the boy, that she compliments earlier..right? jessica will go berserk in any minute.

“he stopped his activity for awhile, to continue his studies at paris..i guess he was returned from paris” jessica answered

“well, seems like you know him too much..do you like him?” jonghyun narrowed his eyes at his girlfriend pretending to be jealous

“Oppa! I’m just his fan..he wouldn’t even look at me” jessica dissapointed voice, clearly shows that she was hoping the idol to notice her.

“i’m offended! I’m the most wanted man in korea, but here you are talking to me about another man” jonghyun pouts childlishly

“aigoo..is my oppa is mad? Should i kiss him?” jessica used her baby voice to answer her child-like boyfriend Jonghyun nodded instantly. Not to be told twice, Jessica leaned towards her boyfriend and gently put her lips against jonghyun.

“hyung, when did you came back?”

“arrived about 2 hours ago, wanted to meet taemin but he said he was busy” jinki yawned tiredly

Kibum could only let out a small chuckle, knowing what taemin meant by ‘busy’.

“hyung, i want to go home” kibum said in sad tone, that he tried so hard to make it sounded happy. Kibum could fool anyone, but jinki.

“okay, and i’m still waiting for the explanation about the news i heard from taemin.” Jinki stood up, and offered his hand to kibum, like the prince would do to their princess. Kibum was suprised to know that taemin still had an oppprtunity to told his brother about the news, kibum thought he would forgot about that after minho ed him. Kibum starred at jinki brown eyes and slowly extended his hand to reach the older long-awaited one.

because she was not evil enough in this chapter (i have no offense towards sica, don't hate me because of her character in this story^^)
