Coping
Stupidly Perfect, Perfectly StupidChanyeol loved Valentines’ Day. It’s a day of full of sweetness and love. For the past years, he and Kyungsoo have spent their Hearts’ day together with Kyungsoo making chocolate treats for the both of them. Last year though, he had a reason to be more excited for that special day in February because for the first time, he wanted to spend it with someone. That someone being GT’s Mr. Perfect, Kris Wu. He has sent his purest intentions along with a boxful of his bestfriend’s special chocolate and a letter. Too bad he saw the package he had prepared a whole night among the ones trampled by Kris’ crazed fans.
But this year’s Valentines’ Day had been his best because he’s got to spend it with no other than Kris Wu but at the same time, this is his worst ever because it seemed like it will be the last one that they’ll have.
“Listen, Yeol. It will just be two years. After you graduate, you can come join me in China. You will see, two years will just be nothing,” Kris convinced him that awful night. Chanyeol could’ve smiled back and said that he understood but the tone of Kris’ voice made him want to do anything just to get Kris to stay. His boyfriend sounded like he’s every bit as opposed to leaving as he is.
If you want something badly, you will have to work for it. Chanyeol wants to keep his relationship with Kris for as long as forever or eternity, whichever comes later, so he would have to work hard on maintaining a long distance relationship. He thought that it would be better because he’s not alone in this cause but Kyungsoo and Sehun are dragging his spirits down instead of reassuring him that they can go through this.
“Uhmmm, we have something important to tell you,” Luhan started after his mom and Kris’ has excused themselves rather anxiously after the dinner. Chanyeol was feeling jittery even before they have gathered in Kris’ play room but now, his heart seems to have turned into a galloping horse inside his chest cavity. He turned to Kris and his boyfriend just held him tighter by the hand and gave him a half-smile. Not a good sign. Not at all.
“Can we just get it over, hyung?” Jongin was all jumpy like he’s being electrocuted that Kyungsoo had to wrap his arms on the younger to keep his on the sofa.
“You’re not making it any easier, Jongin. I’m nervous as . Stop fidgeting!” Luhan complained as he brushed his hair off of his face, making his distress shown.
“Please, just get to the point,” Sehun would usually play it cool with his ever-poker face but tonight, his expression mirrored his boyfriend’s.
“Just… don’t react too bad, okay?” Luhan turned to him and Sehun nodded in agreement. When Chanyeol and Kyungsoo did the same, Luhan continued, “Kris, Jongin and I are moving to China after the graduation.”
Too bad Luhan didn’t specify which reactions are considered bad. Sehun looked like a marble statue with glassed eyes. Chanyeol felt his tears b his eyes and Kyungsoo slowly stood up.
“You’ve got to be ing kidding me,” he whispered but the chill that came with it made everything in the room stop.
“Baby…”
“If this is one of your poor jokes, Kim Jongin, I’m telling you, stop it,” Kyungsoo glared on the ground as if he wants to set it on fire.
“Look, babe. Let me explain…”
“I can totally understand Kris and Luhan because they are graduating,” Chanyeol felt his ear twitched at that but he can understand where his bestfriend is coming from but it doesn’t mean that it didn’t hurt like hell. “But you...! Why do you need to leave with them, Jongin?” Kyungsoo started to cry.
That night scared Chanyeol because his bestfriend, Gem High’s Little Devil, son of a general, Do Kyungsoo, do not cry. Even when his mother had died three years ago. Since that uneventful Valentines’ Day, his bestfriend had been no more than a
