"what are you doing out here?"

seokjin had gone outside to smoke when he saw jungkook standing close, leaning back against the wall of zelo's hospital. he was dressed in normal clothes, and he had a water bottle full of something bubbling- soda, most likely.

"taehyung fell asleep." jungkook said. he shifted; his hand went straight to his ribs. "not that I care, taehyung can sleep all he wants and I won't run away. but I'm just- I wanted some time alone, to think without taehyung there."

"oh?" seokjin asked. "that's odd. you're constantly attached to taehyung's hip."

"exactly." jungkook muttered. he leaned his head back against the wall and sighed heavily. "he's too protective over me. but that's probably a good thing. you were there, you saw how bad taehyung's dad wanted to shoot me."

"sometimes people need a little space, though." seokjin said. he glanced back at the hospital doors. "I'll give you your space. just- don't hurt yourself, okay? and come back in before taehyung wakes up and finds out you were gone. you know he'll flip his ."

"of course," jungkook said, and seokjin slipped back inside the hospital, cigarette forgotten in his back pocket.
