Connecting the Transparent Dots
After the Rain...Be Happy'First impression could be deceiving, but does that mean second impression wouldn't?'
"I wanted you to be honest with me, Unnie. What were you doing with Siwan ssi last night? I thought you're dating Eunhyuk oppa?"
"Eh?"
"Unnie, stop avoiding questions."
"What did you just said?"
"Why did you cheat on Eunhyuk oppa openly like that?"
"No....not that part. Who did I dated, you said?"
"Unnie, you don't have to pretend with me. I know already, it's Siwan ssi."
Gyuri stared at Jiyoung, puzzled.
"Ze:a's Siwan?" She didn't want to sound ignorant, but the words have already escaped her lips.
"Unnie..." Jiyoung started to sound annoyed, much different than her sympathetic and worried tone earlier in their conversation.
'Must be.....I never heard of any other Siwan. But...why...'
Gyuri tried to generate her brainpower to recollect any memories of Siwan she could think of. Not that he's been that significant to be remembered, what more with tons of new idol groups debuting every single day. And Kara had never really interacted with Ze:a, except for some members when they had weekly radio guestings, MC jobs or any small things. She had heard about her group members working with some Ze:a members as models for a fashion show some months ago, but she was in Japan working alone on her acting and a variety show's MC job at that time. And it's not like they've never paired up with other male idol groups, so there was nothing special about it.
She finally managed to remember faintly of her first encounter with Ze:a as a complete group. There were too many members, she only knew Kwanghee and Dongjun who were the popular members and they had been guesting in her then radio show with Super Junior's Shindong. Junyoung was also a familiar face, because he used to be a DSP trainee although they barely had any conversation, there were a lot of trainees after all, and he was there for just a short while but he was known for his resemblance to a member of veteran top idol group, DBSK since his trainee days. And there's Heechul who was her junior at school, not that she went to school that often.
But Siwan? He was one of the faces she couldn't really put to name at first glance or vice versa, just like the remaining members. They all looked the same to her. And she was a fairly new DJ at that time, so she was more focused on not messing up the show. Making friends with her guests wasn't necessary. She tried to recollect memories of her other encounters with Ze:a, they're all not so memorable ones, but she did grew to learn a few things about the members, like who is who and a little bit of their characteristics. Finally it dawned on her, the day she commented about Siwan being the awkward one, and his awkward, and timid response.
'Awkward and timid...just like..him.'
In that particular guesting, he wore glasses.
'He kinda look a bit like him. Although the hairstyle was a huge difference.'
She remembered when the waiter mentioned about dance.
'Of course, idols could dance well.'
"But it doesn't make sense." She quietly argued with herself before giving her answer to Jiyoung who was still waiting for her explanation. "The person I went out with, his name is Woongjae, NOT Siwan." Her voice came off shaky, just as her argument was but keeping up her pride in front of her youngest member is more important than thinking things through before opening .
"Unnie, you can't trick me. He IS Siwan. Wait. I'll show you." Jiyoung rapidly clicked and typed on the computer and moments later, signalled to Gyuri to come closer.
"Look."
Gyuri's jaw dropped at the sight on the computer's screen.
"It...it....really is him."
"Unnie, don't tell me you don't know."
Gyuri's still shocked expression gave away the answer to Jiyoung who became enraged. "He's such a bastard! How could he do that to Unnie!"
"J...Jiyoungie, please don't tell anyone else. I'll handle this matter."
"But Unnie, I'm worried about you. If medias found out about this, what about you and Eunhyuk oppa? And the fans?" Jiyoung's voice softened as she stepped away from the computer to held Gyuri's hand.
"Don't worry, Jiyoungie. I have my own way to settle this. Promise me you won't tell anyone and will stop worrying about this." Jiyoung finally nodded at her Unnie's insistence.
"Unnie, let me know if you need any help."
Gyuri nodded back with a reassuring smile.

After Jiyoung had left her room, Gyuri sat at her computer table and scrolled down to connect more dots even though it's already evident that Im Siwan and Woongjae is the same person. She saw pictures of him in glasses, and in one of the fan-taken pictures, he wore a familiar looking clothes-the black hoodie that covered his hair completely and almost half of his face when she asked him for the date. In the picture, his face looked only slightly similar to the waiter, but that's not a strange thing, idols wear makeups almost all the time. And it's not like she ever paid attention at how the waiter lo
