“I’ll leave them here with you” Taeyeon said to Yuri.

“I’ll watch them” Yuri sighed and continued to monitor the camera.

They had reached the infantry hold safely and Amber managed to get them access to two private interrogation rooms and a monitoring room. Taeyeon and Yuri were in the monitoring room while Amber went out to make sure no one said anything about the two new “detainees” they brought in.

“You sure we’re allowed here?” Yuri asked

“I suppose, the officer in charge gave us permission” Taeyeon said.

“As long as it isn’t anywhere near the spec ops, we should be fine for now” Taeyeon added, massaging her temples.

“I don’t get it. Why do you think it’s someone in spec ops?” Yuri asked again

“I can’t really explain but my gut feeling is that someone is pulling the strings from spec ops. Probably because spec ops can do basically anything without permission of the government beforehand but to have something this big happen.......there’s an official involved too” Taeyeon explained

“That sounds right…….but we’re going to get into so much trouble if Hong finds out” Yuri said.

“Yeah and that’s why we have to be quick” Taeyeon asserted.

“I’ll be fine here, you go” Yuri waved Taeyeon away

“Coffee 2 sugars 3 creams gotcha” Taeyeon chuckled as she left the monitoring room for the vending machines.

Both of them were exhausted from their earlier capturing operation and now was a good time to get some rest before Jiyeon and Victoria regain consciousness. Taeyeon had already planned which questions to ask and what methods of interrogation to use if they didn’t cooperate, which was already a  certain response.

Honestly, Taeyeon pretty much anticipated how much retaliation they were going to get from Jiyeon and Victoria. They might not even say anything but she had to give it a try. Yuri was drowned in suspicion and the only way for Taeyeon to help her buddy was to give her some sort of answer. Taeyeon hated seeing Yuri so weighted down by her worries; it wasn’t going to help them in the long run and certainly wasn’t helping her now.

Thinking about Yuri caused Taeyeon to worry about Tiffany. Although Yuri had done an extensive background check on her (multiple times) and they all ended up clean, Taeyeon couldn’t help but wonder if Tiffany actually knew anything about her fathers’ illegal deals. Tiffany hated to work but she couldn’t be so oblivious as to completely ignore her fathers’ business right?

“Gah” Taeyeon scoffed.

She was overthinking it again. The recent events had her mind trailing off a lot and her suspicions rising too. Not only was it distracting, it was giving her a severe migraine too. Just as Taeyeon’s head was about to explode from the myriad of thoughts and worries, her phone went off. It was none other than Tiffany.

“Hello?” Taeyeon answered, trying to subdue her headache

“Taetae! Are you done working yet?” Tiffany’s cheerful voice rang through Taeyeon’s head, strangely pacifying the pain.

“Not yet. I told you I’d be working all day didn’t I?” Taeyeon said.

“I know……but it’s so quiet here without you” Tiffany said, Taeyeon could sense a cute pout forming on her girlfriend’s face.

“Awwww you miss me?” Taeyeon teased. Her headache seemed to go away after hearing Tiffany’s voice and instantly brightened her mood.

“Yah Kim Taeyeon!” Tiffany yelled

“Okay I give up. Sheesh you’re scarier than one of my superiors, ever consider joining the army?” Taeyeon teased again

“Then can I order you to come home?” Tiffany asked

“Sorry General Hwang, I’m still on duty” Taeyeon playfully said in a crisp tone.

“Hmph what kind of soldier doesn’t listen to their superior?” Tiffany pouted again.

“Uh oh, looks like General Hwang wants to fire me but can I at least have a month’s notice before I go?” Taeyeon laughed

Tiffany was both happy and kind of annoyed that Taeyeon was playing mind games with her.

“Taetae~” Tiffany whined

“Yes?” Taeyeon sweetly answered

“Isn’t it your job to protect me? Why are you always away from me?” Tiffany whined.

“Ahhhh you don’t need to be protected if you’re still lying in bed” Taeyeon awkwardly answered.

“What if more gross bugs start flying around again hm?” Tiffany asked.

“You’re a hundred times bigger than that bug, you can kill it” Taeyeon teased.

“You know I hate them” Tiffany pouted.

“Perfect! You can kill them out of hatred!” Taeyeon dorkily exclaimed

“Kim Taeyeon I hate you!” Tiffany huffed

“Then I guess you won’t be needing me anymore boohoo” Taeyeon pretended to sob

“Didn’t you say you had work to do Captain Kim?” Tiffany asked

“Yes but a certain Ms. Hwang called to interrupt my thoughts” Taeyeon answered.

“Thoughts?” Tiffany was curious. Taeyeon rarely talked about work when they were together.

“Yeah lots of thoughts” Taeyeon said

“What kind of thoughts” Tiffany pressed on.

“Well there are some about work, some about my friends, a lot about you….” Taeyeon began listing her “thoughts” out

“Me?” Tiffany squealed

“Of course you! And your !” Taeyeon didn’t mean to say the last part

“My WHAT?” Tiffany yelled

“Your um…… heart” Taeyeon stammered

“ByunTae!” Tiffany yelled

“Kekekeke” Taeyeon snickered

“That better not be all you’re thinking about” Tiffany scarily commanded

“Er……I actually have to go so I’ll see you maybe tonight or later…..yeah” Taeyeon nervously said

“Yah!” Tiffany yelled

“Bye! Love you!” Taeyeon yelled back and ended the call

“Phew! I need to stop saying dumb things……butts heh” Taeyeon said to herself, almost afraid of what Tiffany will do to her later for talking about butts again.
