Location: Cure Mental Institution

Time: Getaway, March 24, 2016

I'm lied down on my bed wide awake. I looked at the clock on the wall infront of me. 

3:00 AM! Great, I won't be getting any sleep..

I stood up from my bed and took one last look at the now almost empty room.

Today is my last day in this horrible yet slightly comforting place. And, in a few hours I will be free. I forgot what it looked like outside.

Will I be able to see my parents? What if I'm still insane?

With all these thoughts inside my head, I sat infront of the window.

I'll be able to see cars and buses on the road. Being able to walk on sidewalks. Seeing people in public places like the mall. I need to go to a mall. I need to go to the zoo. I miss watching cartoons before going to school. 

I sighed deeply. Today is the day.

I stayed there looking out the window. 

"It's time for breakfast," the sound echoed in my room through the speakers.

The guard knocks on my door.

"Yeah?" I yelled out.

He unlocks the door.

Time for food.

I head out and spotted mommy in the crowd.

"Mommy!" I waved my hand to catch her attention.

She noticed and hurriedly linked her arm with mine.

"How are you?" She asked me.

"I'm fine," I smiled at her.

"So, you excited?"

I shook my head, "I'm nervous and scared,"

We reached the cafeteria and grabbes trays. The lady placed a bowl of oatmeal on my tray, a chocolate chip cookie and strawberry milk. 

"Thank you," 

She nodded at me.

Mommy and I sat on a table in the back.

"What are you scared of?"

"Being seen as a freak..." I muttered to her.

She patted my head.

"You'll do great, don't worry about it,"

We ate in silence.

"Visitors will be arriving in about 5 mins," Those words echoed around me. My heart started beating faster. 

I'll leave this place in 5 mins.

The guard started handing out stickers to the people who have visitors.

I hurriedly went to my room and grabbed my luggage.

After closing the door, I looked straight ahead and entered the room filled with visitors.

There he is! 

Boom! Boom! Boom! My heart pounded harder as I was getting close to him.

I tapped him on the shoulder.

"Oh," 

Jin hugged me tightly.

"Are you ready?"

I shook my head.

"Um, can you wait here for a second?" 

He nodded.

I went up to the guard and requested if I could go to mommy's room. She agreed.

I ran all the way to her room, tears about to spill.

The guards unlocked the door for me to enter.

Before I knew it, I was already in her embrace.

"I'm scared. I don't want to leave,"

"Are you hearing yourself? Everyone wants to leave this place. You have the chance to do so. I want to leave this place so I can be with my child and husband. Don't be scared," she reassured me with comforting words.

"Thank you," I wiped away the tears.

"Oh, before I forget," she let go of me and grabbed something under her bed.

She handed me Husky.

"Take him," she encouraged.

I hesitated and stared at her.

"You miss him. Remember the first night without Husky?"

I nodded and took Husky from her.

"Now, take care of yourself and don't forget me,"

"I'll never forget you, mommy," I gave her one last quick hug and went back to Jin.

I walked towards him and he smiled.

I'm leaving this place.

I thanked the guard and grabbed my backpack.

"I'm ready,"

Jin carried my suitcases to his car. 

He escorted me to his car. 

"Isn't that Husky? You still kept him," he said looking at Husky.

I nodded and sat next to him.

"Wow, you can drive now huh?" I said breaking the silence around us.

"Yeah, I missed you,"

"Same here,"

"Where do you wanna go?" He asked.

"I'm hungry. How about McDonald's?"

He nodded.

We went to a McDonald's drive-through and ordered 2 McChickens and 2 large fries.

We arrived to his new house.

This is a pretty big house for only one person to be living in.

"This is so pretty," 

"Thanks, this is where you'll be living too,"

Damn!

"So, your mom told me you'll be going back to school beginning of the next school year. Which is, roughly 6 months away,"

"Ugh! Why!!?"

"Chill Pam, we have 6 months to have fun and enjoy," he winked at me.

I smiled.

"Can we eat now?" I asked.

"Uh, yeah, I'll get us plates and napkins. Please, turn the TV on,"

I grabbed the remote and put it on cartoon network.

"Cartoons?" He handed me my food.

I nodded, "there was only one TV in that place. And most of the older women watched their dramas."

He chuckled and we watched cartoons until we finished eating.

Jin stood up and cleaned up our mess.

I've never been so full in my life.

I laid down on the couch and unconciously fell asleep.

"Pam, wake up!" Jin kept shaking my arm.

I opened my eyes.

"Why?"

"Let's watch the sunset," 

"I'm tired,"

"I'll buy you ice cream," he suggested.

"Okay, let's go,"

Anything for ice cream! 

I ran to the bathroom and washed my face.

We walked through the park. It was half-park, half-beach. People were slowly gathering to watch the sunset. Jin and I spotted a park bench where you could see the sun in full view. 

We immediately sat down and saw a family looking disappointed.

"I'm sorry guys," Jin yelled out to them.

The guy brushed it off and said, "it's okay."

After the family left, we both were laughing. 

Everyone in the beach was also watching the sunset.

People pulled out their cameras and phones. 

The sun looked so majestic. The sky was divided in 3 colours. Orange, Yellow, and Red. The sun was slowly sinking. 

People cheered after the sun sank down into the ocean.

What a beautiful view. I'm never gonna forget this.

"So, about that ice cream?" 

"Yeah, yeah, I'll buy it,"

We walked around the park until we spotted the ice cream vendor.

"Two cookies 'n' cream ice cream please,"

The man handed us our cones of ice cream and we all the way back home.

I held Jin's hand, the wind was slightly strong and the sky was turning dark.

This is the perfect getaway.
