“you, I uhhh… I have something to tell you.” Your long time bestfriend SLASH long time crush SLASH the love of your life suddenly became serious after telling you how his day was right after the last bell rang and you two were on your way to your neighbourhood.

“do you have a fever Chen-ssi? You seem to be so serious now.” You jokingly checked his forehead while he slowly grabbed your hand and leaned closer to your face.

“After all this time, I uhhh… I finally realized…” Your heart began to beat fast and you were about to hug and kiss him but then…

“my pet rabbit died because of over feeding not because of hunger.” Your shoulders fell, your smile faded and your heart was beating normally again.

If not, you scare him in leaking his cell phone number and email address to his so called “FANS”. End of story.

It has been a long time since he made fun of you. You were too patient and too understanding to even get mad at him so whenever he makes a prank on you, you’d grab anything and hit him with it. Since he’s such a troll, he won’t whimper in pain, but laugh and laugh until he cries. All of the things you two have done together makes you fall in love with him all over again and knowing that he won’t be able to like you back is the only thing that hurts you.

“Enough with the pranks Chen chen. I’m going home. See you tomorrow.” You said but Chen’s face didn’t change. His expression was purely serious and you can’t help but feel pressured about it.

“pffffft!” He tried to suppress his laugh but he wasn’t able to hide it and laughed his heart out.

Ahahahahahahahaha!” He sat down and squeezed his tummy but your face went cold and stiff. You felt tears welling up in your eyes and anger rose up.

“yah. You think it’s funny? Huh?! YAH! Kim Jongdae-ah! Make fun of me but not my feelings! BABO! BABO! BABO! BABO! BABO! BABO!” You shouted as you kicked his shin with great force and ran towards your house without looking back. You locked yourself in your room, opened the faucet at its maximum and cried at the corner of your bath tub. You cried your heart out without letting anyone hear you. He has hurt you once again but unlike before, he pretended to like you back. Even though it was a short period of time, you can’t help but feel betrayed and hurt for what he did.

You two haven’t talked to each other for a month and a half right after that or rather, you’ve been avoiding him for one and a half month already. You would always wake up early and walk to school earlier than before so he won’t catch up to you. You would run off right after the bell rang whenever the both of you have subjects together and would go home ahead of him everyday. You two ended up going to the school’s garden. You two sat on the cool warm and soft grass before taking both your hands and said,

It shocked you but his confession wasn’t like Chen’s. Chen’s “confession” made your heart leap and jump but Kris’ didn’t mean anything. It didn’t make your heart flutter but, it did make you happy.

“Gomawo but, I already like someone.” You said. He smiled at you before releasing your hands.

“It’s Chen right?” He asked. You can’t help but feel shy and smile at the same time. How did he know about that?! You panicked.

“I can tell you. I can tell that you’re in love with him.” He sighed before looking at ypu straight in the eyes and said,

“I’ll give him one chance to let him have you. If he won’t grab it, I’ll do everything to make you fall in love with me.” He said before kissing your cheek. You both left the garden and parted ways when you arrived at the library. You were about to open the double doors when a hand suddenly grabbed you and dragged you towards somewhere you don’t know. You looked at the figure from behind only to know that it was the person you’ve been avoiding for quite some time now. Chen.

“What do you think you’re doing?!” You broke free and stopped walking but Chen was too strong to carry you and ran out of the school towards the garden, again.

“YAH! PUT ME DOWN!” you shouted all the way. When Chen finally let you down, you gave him a powerful punch on the arm and glared at him.

“What the hell was that for? Huh?!” You shouted.

“Did Kris confess?” He asked in while rubbing his arm.

“None of your business." You stated as a matter of fact.

“Did you accept his feelings? I saw it. He kissed you. Is he your boyfriend now? Yah! you-ah, answer me.” He bombarded you with questions he was not supposed to ask.

“What if I did? Huh? What do you care?!” your patience was running low ever since he made that dumb joke on you.

“I care because I love you okay? I love you ever since I first saw you you and I don’t want him, heck I don’t want anyone to be your boyfriend other than me.” His voice rose up but you choose to still not believe in him.

“You think I’ll fall for that trick again? Yah! Me having a boyfriend is none of your business. So stay out of my life and carry those two left feet of yours away from here! Stay away from-“ He suddenly pulled you closer to him and crashed his lips on yours softly. You can feel his heart beating fast but you still doubted him. What if he’s making fun of me again? What if I’ll get hurt again? What if he’ll laugh right after this?

You pushed him away and hit his chest with lesser force this time as you started to cry all of a sudden.

“BABO! BABO! BABO! Are you making fun of me again?! Huh?! Are you trying to take advantage of my feelings for you?! Because it’s working! You hear me?! I’ve loved you since the first time we ever met and what did you do?! Huh?! You made fun of it! You told me you love me and I believed it! You made fun of my feelings for you and it hurts! It hurts so much! So don’t try to do it again because I will believe it and I’ll get hurt all over again! BABO! CHEN YOU BABO!!!” You shouted and stopped hitting him the moment he hugged you. You didn’t have the strength to push him away and let him be. You let him hug you even for a little while, even if he’s just pretending again.

“Mianhye you. Mian hamnida you. I know I’ve hurt you before but, I was too scared, too scared to risk our friendship over something as selfish as this. Now, I’m two hundred and one per cent sure that I’m serious. I’m no longer joking around. I truly love you and I’m here to ask for your forgiveness and one last chance for me to prove to you that I really really love you.” He whispered to your ear as your sobs started to lessen. Your heart starts to do its usual thing again whenever Chen says those three words for you. You try to tell yourself that it’s just another prank he does as usual but something deep inside you tells you that he’s sincere.

“Can I have this one last chance to prove to you that my feelings are true?” He asked as he slowly pulled away, wiping the tears that have been falling on your cheeks.

“If you dare make fun of my feelings again, I will really upload your dancing videos when we were in middle school.” You said as he smiled and hugged you once again.
