Between Sleeping and Waking
Description
Waking up from a nightmare, Eunhyuk finds himself in a reality so strange and unfamiliar that he starts believing his nightmare never ended. When he opens his eyes the next day, everything seems to be fine again and he doesn’t waste too much time with thinking about his dream. But his nightmare comes back, pulls him into a world so cruel and realistic that he would give everything to wake up again – but he can't.
He starts living in two different worlds and he changes places every night; one as beautiful as he remembered it to be and one so awful that he doesn’t want to spend a single second in it. Eunhyuk thinks he knows which one the real one is, but as time goes by he starts to have doubts.
What's reality – and what's the dream?

Foreword
", it's already past 2! Let's hurry and sleep."
Donghae threw the script on the nightstand and quickly slipped under the covers, snuggling up to Eunhyuk in the process. He made himself comfortable and was just about to use the other's shoulder as his pillow for the night as he noticed the way Eunhyuk looked at him. There was something in his eyes that confused him; the elder looked sad and even a bit afraid – and Donghae couldn’t find the reason for that. The brunet paused and an insecure smile flashed over his lips.
"What's up with that look?" he asked and tapped his finger against Eunhyuk's cheek. "Aren't you feeling better yet?"
Eunhyuk blinked and tried to push all of his doubts further to the back of his head. He tried to tell himself that there was nothing to worry about, yet he couldn’t stop himself from thinking, dreading. Now Donghae acted like everything was fine again and he knew that he only did that because the younger knew that he wasn’t feeling well. Donghae suppressed what he really felt and Eunhyuk did the same; they stopped being honest to each other and Eunhyuk knew what this would result in sooner or later. Yet this dream was the reality he wanted to stay in; he didn’t want to leave it, not again. Never again.
"Can't we just… stay awake for a bit longer?" he whispered and slowly pulled Donghae closer. He wanted to be as close to him as possible. The younger frowned slightly.
"We'll be dead tired if we don’t go to sleep now", he brunet explained. "Just think about tomorrow's schedules and-"
"Just a bit", Eunhyuk pleaded and reached out his hand to softly caress the other's cheek. There were tears welling up in his eyes as his fingers over soft skin; it was the thought of not being able to touch it again that made them fall. Donghae was alarmed.
"Hey, what's wrong?" he asked silently, worry written all over his face. He sat up a bit without really knowing what to do to soothe the other who kept caressing his cheek in endless patterns. Eunhyuk cried mutely without making any sounds and never broke their eye contact. He was afraid to do it.
"I don’t want to fall asleep", he almost whispered with a cracking voice and didn’t care about how pathetic his words sounded. Donghae came closer a bit, concerned and confused at the same time.
"Why?"
Eunhyuk bit his lip harshly as he thought about what kind of reality would welcome him after waking up. He didn’t know if he should tell Donghae about it, but who should he trust if it wasn’t him? He had dealt with this long enough on his own and he simply couldn’t take it any longer.
"Because…" he started and the hand on Donghae's cheek started trembling as new hot tears ran over his skin. "Because you won't be with me anymore when I wake up."
