capitalisation
Things That Annoy MeWell, if you haven’t noticed, the title for this update is not capitalised. Trust me, I needed a dang lot of willpower not to correct that.
If you ever went to elementary school (or any other school even), your English teacher would tell you to capitalise every start of a sentence, names and so on.
Okay, I can’t explain every single thing that needs to be capitalised, so go to this website to learn more! http://m.wikihow.com/Capitalise-Correctly
Anyways, it is always irritating to see a certain name or proper noun not being capitalised when it should have, and as usual, I would have this strong urge to correct them (but I can’t).
But then again, there are others who capitalise every freaking word in a sentence and that bothers me as much as the first case.
Examples (based on real cases):
my mom went to england last year with a friend named henry.
Corrected version: My mom went to England last year with a friend named Henry.
christmas is celebrated in december.
Corrected version: Christmas is celebrated in December.
My Cat Jumped Over The Blue Wall Just Now.
Corrected version: My cat jumped over the blue wall just now.
(Even as I was typing the wrong examples, Word Documents was correcting my capitalisation. My computer outsmarts those people. And again, a lot of willpower not to correct the mistakes.)
That’s it folks! If you have any other issues you wanna bring up, lemme know in the comments or you can pm me in the messages if you wanna have a chapter/topic all to yourself (I’ll credit you!). Ciao!
