Sehun bared his teeth, his golden eyes flickering with anger. “What did you just call me?” he snarled.
Krystal made a pointed glance at the werewolf as Kai rolled his ruby-red eyes. “Honestly, what's the point in having supernatural hearing when you have such slow reflexes,” he said in almost genuine disapproval. “Don't act as if it isn't the truth. You might be the strongest werewolf in the world – feared even by your own kind – but at the end of the day, all you are is a glorified pup with nowhere to go. No friends. No family. Nothing – ”
“You'd better shut up, bloodsucker, or else I'll – ”
“Or else you'll what? Bite me?” Kai's eyes glowed wickedly against the dark shadows of his face. “I wouldn't do that if I were you. I would leave such a horrid aftertaste and you can be certain, dog,” he emphasized the word, “that I would return the favor.”
Having shut Sehun right up, Kai turned his gaze towards Sulli, to which Krystal responded by taking a protective step in front of her. “I don't suppose you have anything worthwhile to say, faerie,” he mused. “It really is a shame how such a rare talent was lost to someone so utterly stupid.”
“You're evil and annoyingly arrogant,” Sulli chirped from over Krystal's shoulder. “Someday that will be the cause for your downfall.”
Kai chuckled, more so amused than threatened. “I'll take my chances,” he said. “And you. Newbie sorceress with the dusty old book,” he added while shooting his eyes at Krystal. “I have no idea why you'd be associated with these two pathetic creatures, but as long as you're associated with me, your little journey of self-discovery will not end well.”
“Is that a threat?” Krystal challenged. She kept steady eye-contact with him, unwavering despite how freakish his red eyes looked in contrast to his pale pallor.
“No, no, not a threat,” Kai said as he shook his head. “Merely consider it as a friendly warning.” He flashed a sinister grin and let the points of his upper fangs peek over his bottom lip. As if his eyes weren't enough to serve as a reminder of how creepy he was, Krystal thought, thoroughly repulsed.
Eventually, she said, “I appreciate your unrequested thoughtfulness and consideration but... I'll take my chances.”
author's note: I typed this up on my phone so it isn't very elaborate. The basic idea here is Kai is the almighty and immortal prince of vampires and Krystal, a sorceress in training, is somehow destined to eradicate his evil from the world. /cue epic thunder and lightning/ But first she teams up with Sehun, a lone werewolf outcasted by his own kind, and Sulli, a faerie who can predict the future but is unfortunately made fun of because she's sorta kinda crazy. I have no intentions of fully developing this idea, but if I did, I would so totally pull a Cassandra Clare on you all and throw in several plot twists that may or may not make sense. But most likely I won't because I've totally abandoned the idea of writing chaptered fics since they require a whole lot more patience and commitment - which I don't have because life ;A;
I hope you guys enjoyed this update though! I've got a really, really, reallyyy long drabble or basically a one-shot lined up for you - which I'll probably post later this week because of school and other things xD See you guys then! - Ella
