Chapter 1 – C to the X

The black Jeep Grande was parked in the middle of the snow land at the top of one those numerous short forest mounts near the big cities.  In between this secret wonderland, there was a few chalets here and there, and the nine girls had rented one of them that was fifteen minutes from the city so they could go back for a few drinks and all. They had a whole month of break and they were going to enjoy it to the max.

Sera was holding a cardboard box when she got lost in her thoughts as she stared at the frozen lake in front of her. The other one noticed her behaviour and snapped her fingers before her eyes.

“Huh? Oh yeah, sorry.”

Hyuna smiled and continued transporting the boxes inside. Sera followed while humming a Christmas tune before throwing herself on one of the couches.

“Unnie~ Let’s take a break.”

Hyuna dusted her hands after she put her load down. “There’s only a pair left, don’t be so weak.”

Sera puffed her cheeks and walked lifelessly towards her. The older woman gave her a cheeky grin and pulled her hand so she would fall right between her arm and chest.

“Come on, baby~”

“You sound like you own me or something,” Sera mumbled as she frowned.

“You look like a cat and I love cats, so I logically do own you.”

“That didn’t even make sense,” she shook her head.

Hyuna scratched Sera's chin while making cute noises, something the younger one liked and couldn’t help but blush every time she would do it.

“See, you’re such a cat.”

“Gee, shuddup.”

“No baby, come back~!” Hyuna put on her dramatic pose while Sera quickly ran to the back of the car, taking one last luggage.

“Move your .” The younger mumbled as she passed by her.

“Yes, yes, captain.”

Hyuna was the one who was supposed to come early alone to decorate the house but Sera texted her that her meeting had been cancelled and she would come help. As soon as they went inside, Sera removed the older woman’s coat and guided her to the fireplace, making her sit down on the carpet while Hyuna was still wondering what was happening.

“Stay here while I lit up the place.” Sera indifferently took a few logs from the small bunch and threw them in with some newspaper.

Hyuna watched her as if she was holding back tears. “Baby, why are you so adorable?”

She threw the lit up match inside, making a small fire. “Am not.”

She was pulled into Hyuna’s lap, embraced by her arms. She shyly held her hands since they were so cold, the first reason she decided to warm up the place. Hyuna’s warm breath tickled her right ear, “Says the girl who cares about my cold hands. I warm up quicker when we’re like this.”

They both stayed silently, watching the fire grow bigger into the chimney. A few minutes passed by when Hyuna felt a nudge. She opened her eyes, seeing Sera’s face a few inches by, she unintentionally put her head forward and Sera had to look away.

“We should be setting up the place, you know, it’s already ten. The girls might pass by around noon.”

She pulled away from the hug and Hyuna could feel a breeze pass by her arms, making her feel chills. She crawled near Sera who was unboxing the cartons until she found what she needed.

“Why did the girls only asked me to decorate the Christmas tree all alone in the middle of nowhere?” Hyuna pouted as she pulled a gold colored garland onto the green tree.

“Because Missy has so much free time, and we’re still close to the city, okay.” Sera took out a red garland instead.

Hyuna made a grimace and said nothing.
